As a fellow abstract myself Sean Scully's artwork is truly very beautiful, captivating, and inspiring. Definitely considering looking up more research on him. Maybe I will be able to contact him directly if so that would be amazing.

There's something calming about his artwork that I usually don't associate with abstract style. Perhaps it's the boxes/stripes or the color combinations that look more like plaid flannels vs. a painting. The black square representing Covid disruption is very evocative - as it breaks up the sense of calm and well-being associated with his patterns. Intriguing style.

This art feels not just artistic, but mathematical.

More mainstream channels such as CNN and other outlets, should follow the same news storytelling method of CBS Sunday morning. There are barely any that showcase the creative topics and inspiring stories of various types of artists, non profits and volunteers, small businesses and the youth. I cannot count on one hand the amount of times I've seen a news story about artists of today from different parts of America. When all we give is negative news, at the end of the day it's not news anymore. There is no bad without good. Thanks CBS ☀️ for doing a great job of showing us the things that can bring people together.

I guess you can't have sick ish art.
Without a sick wasp art, sprinkled in.
I guess all the Remington, and Borglum are gone.
    Stuck with this.
Next week "Graffiti art". Oh, boy!

How I As an artist , albeit more representative, I get why abstracts sell well, they ad a little color. look good over your couch . But galleries have a financial gain to push work that is easy to produce. To claim as an expert. That the easy is more valuable , is just capitalism. Of course he had many warehouse of work. He could do 1 a day .

Go see his paintings. The color work is the thing and it rivals Mark Rothko's in term of having a spiritual mystery. All the vapid talk about stripey-ness is a distraction. The guy is a magician with color.
