I never cease to be impressed with Mark. The way you can turn things around is so incredible. We need people like him teaching high school and college how to do what he does. Because it is truly amazing how he has the patience and the perseverance. I have my own business for 17 years. It was successful I sold it when I was done with it. But this guy is just amazing.
True he literally breaks down every aspect. Hard to fail in industries when he us telling you what to do lol. What has best margins, what they should be , how to calculate things , you name it he explains it.
I really enjoyed this episode. I was flabbergasted when they said they were not tea drinkers. I personally love tea. But, why start a company with only one product and you don’t even like that one product? Marcus is a great business man. I give many of kudos to him. I personally don’t agree with everyone having to go to college. So, if it was his sons idea to drop out then that is fine. But, it wasn’t. His dad was still being selfish. He was not around for him much as a kid. Then he asked him to leave school so that he could help him run his business. That may seem like a way for him to bond with his son. But it was yet another selfish move on his behalf. Especially with his son only having one more year left of school. He still feels like his son is a mistake. Taylor is a nice enough young man. You can tell he must get his values from his mother. If I were Taylor, I would leave Jeff and the business behind. Wow I admire Marcus a lot. He is even allowing Taylor to finish school and pay for it. Taylor is really looking for a father figure and I think he was really grateful to hear that Marcus was proud of him.
Some narc ways in that dad. The sooner the son learns what that is, the sooner he'll grow stronger and do well to ensure he doesn't continue the pattern. He's definitely learning how to deal with various and challenging personalities.

This episode aired October 2016, what end up happening? Only 1 American Tea and Coffee store is listed owned by the Truesdell family, a family in the video. Did Tyler finish college? What happened to all the franchisees? I see tea2go has 3 stores open. Please give an update!
I would imagine that the one location was already remodeled and set up for the deal but when it collapse he still had the store and the other families were still contracted to Tea2Go. so 1 store is all that ever existed just so the episode would have a good finish not to actually build a multi-location business
Taylor thankfully did finish his college degree from the University of Texas and stayed in the business as a supplier in Arizona for a bit but now is back in Austin.

Issue with alot of these companies is they make a decent amount revenue wise and yet still lose a ton they either lose money or barely make anything. Dad has his son doing illegal stuff. Like Marcus said you can go to jail. When you owe more than you make you are going to stay behind the 8 ball. Smh. Like the say on shark tank when people ask for a huge amount of equity. Do you want a small piece of a watermelon or big piece of a grape or something like that lol.

When I want any of their products, I just buy from the company's they get their stuff from. They sell to the public. They're still open but stagnant
