    Hi! I'm new here and my friend loves shopping for us at Aldi. What is the scoop on not steaming in the bag? Thanks for the tips.

      Hey Ileane I’m so glad you're here and I love Aldi too! When it comes to plastics some chemicals can leach from them when they are heated. These chemicals can get into our food. When we ingest these chemicals they can interrupt and disrupt the body’s chemical processes like regulating our hormones (for example). The chemicals in plastics can interfere with our body’s hormones and can be toxic. When we are out and about it’s harder to avoid things heated in plastics. But whenever we heat something at home we can use glass in the microwave instead. I hope that answers your question. :)

    Good evening, have you tried the almond flour crackers (sea salt) at aldi? I have seen the simple mills one mentioned several times on your channel. Was wondering how the aldi ones compare...

      👋🏼 I have seen them in my area but I have not seen any that don't contain dairy in the ingredients. So I haven't tried them. I also looked for the Autumn Gold apples you told me about and my Aldi didn't have them 😔

      @styleandstewardship I'm sorry you missed out on the apples! 😞 I didn't realize the Aldi brand had dairy in them! Thanks for telling me! I will keep a look out for Publix to put the simple mills almond flour crackers on sale. This may seem like an odd question, but I'm looking at the almond flour crackers for my toddler, and was wondering if they dissolve in the mouth like a saltine? We have tried cauliflower crackers and a couple of other ones and I'm always scared he's going to not chew them thoroughly and choke because they are very hard.

      @BlessedMomof7 Totally not an odd question. I would be a little cautious with the almond flour crackers for your toddler as well. They are much more coarse and don’t dissolve like a saltine would. The Siete grain free tortilla chips are on the lighter crunch side. Since they're made with Cassava flour they are closer to a cracker. I gave these to my son when he had an upset stomach. Walmart also carries a Gluten Free Teething cracker called Happy Baby Organics.

    Good morning and happy early thanksgiving! Does dark chocolate from aldi have milk in it?

    • @styleandstewardship
      @styleandstewardship  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving to you are yours! For the most part Dark Choclate doesn't contain milk in the ingredients. However, it may be produced on the same equipment and in the same factory that Does put milk in things like milk chocolate. So they have to say somewhere on the label that "this product may contain milk, dairy etc." So by law they have to have an allergy disclaimer. They list this even if there are no dairy or milk products used in the ingredients. If you are allergic to dairy you may want to skip it. If you are sensitive to it it may or may not be an issue. I hope that's helpful.

    We have allergies to coconut. What would you use in place of coconut cream?

      An alternative ( if you can tolerate nuts) would be ½-1 cup of raw cashews, topped with boiled water and soaked for 30 min. After, drain and then add them to a blender with filtered water and blend until smooth.
      Another option would be to make hemp milk - add 1 cup filtered water and
      ½ cup - ¾ cup hemp hearts and blend, you may want to strain with a fine mesh strainer. Here's a great brand if you can't find them locally amzn.to/3uR7UUT However, I have found them in my local Walmart. They just need to be shelled hemp hearts. I hope this helps. I know all about having allergies and food sensitivities
      😉

    Hi may ask why not steam in the bag?

    • @styleandstewardship
      @styleandstewardship  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Sure! I personally avoid steaming in plastics if I am at home. I'm not as picky when I'm not at home but I look for BPA free with those items. Plastics (when heated) can leach chemicals into our food. So if I'm home I place it in a glass dish if I'm going to be microwaving. Plastics that leach into our food can be endocrine disrupters and attach to receptors in our bodies that block hormone function. I hope that helps, thanks for watching!

      For the chicken, I added salt and added the sauce which had a lot of seasonings in it. 😉

    I find the organic deli meat to feel slimy and unappetizing

    • @styleandstewardship
      @styleandstewardship  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have had that experience before. 😬 I typically look at the date, and grab the ones closest to the back that don't have alot of liquid. However, I don't get any deli meat on a regular basis.
