I have driven cars with no power steering, no power brakes, manual gears and i found all those things in the past took the feel and response away from the driver, now no so much but if you drive something without the added equipment you revert to those feelings and adapt within a couple of hundred yards, but if you have never learned to drive without you almost find it impossible to drive. That is a special car for sure and I think it is a semi permanent Ed car.
Jeremy Clarkson best described it as an automotive fashion accessory, and it's honestly high praise. There are abosultely cars that perform better, but if you want to pull up somewhere to make a statement, few cars for under $1M can so what a Spyker can. It is just painfully pretty and the pagani-esque details are superb.
Spykers are criminally underrated. I have loved these ever since I found out about them in the late 2000's/early 2010s. So beautiful, so well made, and so exclusive
Spyker has always been one of the coolest marques out there IMHO. About the stylish, aesthetic pleasure and driving experience! The interiors are delightfully and authentically crafted! They and Koenigsegg were supposed to have a partnership going on, but that was shelved!
The engine has cylinder heads bespoke to Spyker. Similar to the Ferrari f355, it’s got 5 valves per cylinder, as apposed to the normal 4 in the Audi engines.
I love how truly happy he is riding in his cars he really likes seeing other people get the joy out of them so they understand what he loves I think it's really cool
Not only is the shifter design sick but it has a floor mounted pedal box essentially. i like it its not something u see everyday but the interior design it being a mid engine high reving v8 with cantilever suspension is so damm cool i think with some motor work for some power gains that thing would be a really fun car to rip on a track or backroads
Really enjoy the reviews with Ed. This channel is actually how I found out about VinWiki and Ed which led me to Car Trek and Tavarish , and Hoovie, and Mat Armstrong in the end. When good TH-cam car people get together for content only good things come from it.
David, I'm jealous of the life you live often. and not JUST because of all the cool places you get to go or cars you get to drive, but because you're the same you on and off camera, because you care about people as much as the content you provide. I often wonder what kind of a life that would be and can completely understand the work and burnout associated with what you do... I find myself watching this video as an avid fan of this car (which is one of the few I've never seen or driven), and it leaves me wondering... can you top this? To me this is the pinnacle of "analog" cars and would just be such an incredible reward for all the hard work that it takes to get to a point in your career where someone lets you drive it... Thank you for giving me as close as I'll ever get to the experience of driving this thing. Looking forward to seeing you again next spring.
Such a unique car, under rated car! If I had one I don't think I'd ever let it go! And could you imagine what it could be if it were to get some boost? I think a little finesse with the engine would put this car on a completely different level!
i had a spyker c8 poster on my wall as a child. it was quite literally my "lambo dream car" not sure why, but i always had a soft spot for these strange looking supercars, TVR's as well
The only other times I've seen one of these, is on an old-ass episode of Top Gear, and the Petersen Automotive Museum. This is easily the most surprising car I've ever seen on this channel, but the owner doesn't shock me one bit. lol
I seen one of these on forza motorsport 4 or 5 i think and i fell in love with this one of a kind hand assembled awesome super car. If i had stupid money id own one. I used to tell people about it just because nobody knew what it was.
I absolutely love these cars. I've always thought these were so freaking cool and if I ever had "multiple car money" I would love to get my hands on one of these.
Wow never heard or seen this car. From the thumb nail the front looks like an Austin Martin. In the video the rear looks like a lotus and interior looks like a Bugatti but sounds like an Audi. That gear box is insane!
IS IT WORTH IT?
LEMME WORK IT

Lmaooo
Yeah!
Missy's taste in cars is excellent.
I just love Ed's smile. Even a mild pull and he was grinning ear to ear. He truly loves that car.

One of the coolest cars ever produced, thanks to Ed for sharing it and DB for showcasing it.
The engine has cylinder heads bespoke to Spyker. Similar to the Ferrari f355, it’s got 5 valves per cylinder, as apposed to the normal 4 in the Audi engines.
Being Dutch, i always love seeing one of these getting appreciated! They're beautiful, special cars!
Sowieso!
I didnt even know these were street legal in the U.S..... ive only ever seen one and it had the Euro steering wheel
How could it not be street legal its a car with everything you need on it to make it street legal SO ???? WHY WOULD IT NOT BE ????
@@shannacollins4741 because the European model doesn't have airbags and it also wasn't crash tested here
@@bkphil89 OK but there are alot of cars that weren't made with airbags in the US but i get the crash ratings part but the airbag thing is weird !
@@shannacollins4741 Florida sometimes explain a lot?
@shannacollins4741 not in 2008.. past 1996 all cars in the United States had to be manufactured with airbags
Missy Elliott has outstanding taste
2:21 I love that it has a a Audi key, Spyker didn't even try to put their logo on it.
Missy always one of the smartest women in the business.
First heard of this car from Test Drive Unlimited... what a game, the memories!

Lets Go David! Let's Go VinWIKI! I never seen this coming. 😅
We would expect nothing less from Missdemeanor. ❤
Really enjoy the reviews with Ed. This channel is actually how I found out about VinWiki and Ed which led me to Car Trek and Tavarish , and Hoovie, and Mat Armstrong in the end. When good TH-cam car people get together for content only good things come from it.
Spykers are Gorgeous. Plus you get the precision of a Swiss Watch.
I love when my favorite channels collaborate! Makes my food taste better 😂

Ed’s acceleration face kills me almost every time😭😂
I only know of Spyker because of Test Drive unlimited

I was lucky enough to see this thing and meet Ed earlier this year at Amelia. Awesome car, and awesome guy!
Here for Ed. What a guy!
Finally. You've reviewed one of my all time favorite cars.
I remember i saw one just driving down a back road once on the way to a hiking trip, probably one of the best random car spots I've ever had
Woow she still had that car...I that Busta Rymes had one too.
I always love the look on Ed's face when the pedal goes down lol
I remember driving this car… in TDU 2 😭
It was in TDU1, TDU2 had the Alieron.
@@sukhdevr3489 yeah idk the Spyker modes that well, they all damn near look the same
When i was younger and use to watch top gear i never got the hype of this car but now i see the only car that had better craftsmanship was the zonda
i had a spyker c8 poster on my wall as a child. it was quite literally my "lambo dream car"
not sure why, but i always had a soft spot for these strange looking supercars, TVR's as well
Nice little change of pace..Enjoyed the video
Ed sure knows how to pick something “off piste”
This car screams get your freak on 😮
I remember this car well from games like Forza Motorsport 4 or PGR 4, beautiful car.
This car was in the Crew 1. Never knew what it was. Glad this video releaaed
That was the Aileron
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY! I've been waiting for you to drive that Spyker SO BAD! LET'S GOOO!!! 😁😁
The only other times I've seen one of these, is on an old-ass episode of Top Gear, and the Petersen Automotive Museum. This is easily the most surprising car I've ever seen on this channel, but the owner doesn't shock me one bit. lol
You know you made it when you get your freak on in a car like this
Ed’s fucking smile is all that’s needed to say on the experience the experience of driving this car. Lol Great video about a crazy rare car.
I drove one back in 2008 and loved it. Despite the oddities like the ebrake and door entry, it was super easy to drive and sounded so muscular.
Missy Elliot can drive a manual???
Fiyyyyaaa!
Ed's such a cool dude who buys awesome cars with the best story behind them.
Funny just watched Ed's video the other day.... LOL
Missy has had some of the most legendary supercars over the years. The 599GTO is probably my favorite.
"The successor was to be called the Aileron, however it never really got off the ground." lol see what you did there.
First saw this car in orange at a exotic car dealership party in the Hamptons in 2008, one of the coolest cars I’ve sat in and seen in 38 years.
@VINwiki we need TDIB David in a proper Car Trek. Not just as a guest but along side the three.
I love ed such a nice humble guy it would be so cool to meet the both of you one day
Yeah he seems to enjoy sitting in the passenger seat just as much as if he were driving.
Mr Bolin has a little bit of that "Spectrum" smile sometimes! ❤
God I love how Spykers look!
I seen one of these on forza motorsport 4 or 5 i think and i fell in love with this one of a kind hand assembled awesome super car. If i had stupid money id own one. I used to tell people about it just because nobody knew what it was.
Missy always had great taste in cars! When I was younger reading dub magazine, I always loved seeing her in there
I've only seen this car on TDU2 awesome to see it out in the wild
I thought for sure you were going to have Ed smack the camera on the outro lol.
Been my favorite car for a long time!
I’m just glad I got to look at one every day for a while and drive it. I was only able to move them around the lot prior.
I absolutely love these cars. I've always thought these were so freaking cool and if I ever had "multiple car money" I would love to get my hands on one of these.
Back then , there was music video with this car , the rapper i dont remember though .
Your really going up in the world dude.Love your content I've been watching you for awhile. Keep it up!
I just watched a movie with this in it. Naturally i know the car but forget the movie lol
Wow never heard or seen this car. From the thumb nail the front looks like an Austin Martin. In the video the rear looks like a lotus and interior looks like a Bugatti but sounds like an Audi. That gear box is insane!
That's a cool car! Never heard of it
Liked immediately! I'm so jealous and proud of you Dave! I love Spykers😍😍
I've seen 2 of these, beautiful car. Would love to drive one
Ive seen these at the ny auto show years ago. I forgot about these honestly. Wish it would have done better
You gotta review the 2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 sedan easily the most underrated car with 425 hp under 10k
Man she is awesome. Can't believe she had taste like that. Plus she still looks gorgeous.
that car is like a mixture of Aston Martin(when ford owned them), and audi. really cool car
Ed is David's father confirmed
3:35 "Dad"?
first time i saw the Spyker C8 was in Forza Motorsport. but now i know why its so rare. and its such a beautiful car
Beautiful work of art but I like the syder version better. That open air look is priceless. Jet Li drove one in his movie I think it’s called War
I only remember seeing one of these from gran Turismo 4.
missy was so iconic and even drove a manual.. wow
As a kid, these were always one of my favorite exotics
In this episode, David gets colonized by a quirky car.
Do the brakes lock up easily?
One of my dream cars
(Add a bunch of curses here, trust me) Might be one of the nicest sounding cars in a loooooooong time ...daaaaammmnnn
really just put that thang down, flipped it, and reversed it
What a cool car! Have only seen it in video games it’s awesome you got to drive one and show us. the build quality of it looks insane!
Love the car, but that tan leather up there is terrible. It doesn’t match and the finish is rippling.
My two favorite car people. Right on
Dang its like watching dad and son together.
I always loved the spyker c8
I've seen one of these in black in Dallas.
Corvette is Weird. Spyker is Splendid
Did she ever flip it and reverse it?
I love these things, but now they go for around 300k and that’s wild
I actually only knew of this car from a movie called war with jet li and Jason Statham. Jet li is driving it. Only time I've seen one .
Have always look these Spykers 🔥. So unique and Analog 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I've seen a white one in Memphis TN in 2008. I took a picture on my old kodiak. Never seen one again after that
I've never got to see one in person. I never heard of the car until I played the game test drive unlimited 2
THAT IS A NICE CAR, IT'S BASICALLY AN SPECIAL AUDI
An Spyker and an Ed... nuff said.
It's such a funkie car but it sounds so good.
