    They’re different tools for different jobs. If you’re riding solo, fast and wanna save a few bucks get the sport glide. If you’re going any distance or just riding a lot take the road king.

    Just picked up a 2019 Sport Glide on Christmas Eve (2019).
    I couldn't pass up the deal that Fort Worth Harley gave me.
    On top of that it was a no brainer for me. That new frame is AMAZING! Also, take in to account factory Daymaker vs halogens on the RK. I also have a 30" inseam, and reaching for that kick stand on the RK was alot tougher. I could see myself getting complacent and dropping it. Also, the RK is roughly 100 lbs heavier and the weight is a little higher, giving it a slightly heavier feel on top of it all.
    I absolutely love the Sport Glide! HUGE upgrade over my Iron 1200

    I'm over the top about my 2019 sport glide. The handling is outstanding, even better then the 2018 iron i had.

    I chose the 2019 Sport Glide it's almost like 2 bikes in one, it's beautiful to look at and really performs. And if you want to get serious about travel you can get the Travel Pack rear section.

    Whilst I really like the Road King SPECIAL ... the Sport Glide is about $6,000 (US) cheaper where I live and the Sport Glide seems a better choice based on the purchase price (even though the Road King Special might be the better bike overall). But that's just my impression, and I could be missing something. For $6K (US), are there any essential reasons to get a Road King Special over a Sport Glide? (between a 107 & 114, I'm not fussed).

    im thinking the lean angle has a lot to do with its height... and maybe the bags.. the road king sits higher so it can physically lean further before it scraps

    • @longhornhd
      @longhornhd  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree on the clearance aspect, but disagree on the saddlebags. When leaning, there are so many other components that will touch the ground (like the primary and exhaust heat shields) before you even get remotely near to the saddlebags (if your saddlebags touch the ground you most likely just had an accident LOL)

    As a first time H-D buyer, with background in mostly dirt and dual sport bikes, I chose Sport Glide over Road King (and over top about it to!) Reasons: Roughly 300 lbs lighter, has same engine, but it’s solid mounted in frame vs. rubber mounted in RK. Inverted front forks in combo with 30 degree front end rake make Sport Glide handle like it could be a desert racer. (eg. Frame geometry is perfect on SG.) Mono-shock rear suspension is reminiscent of Yamaha YZ motocross bikes, which Bob “Hurricane” Hannah kicked butt on back in the day! Plus ABS & Cruise control standard. All that said though, my next H-D will be a Road King as soon as I can sell a dirt bike to room for it.

    Sport Glide. For me I will ride it stripped down and I call it a fat baby boy. Bags if I need space. Add Tour pack for 2 up riding with back rest for my wife. Slipstreamer makes custom shields for very little money. People always forget about cruise and ABS standard. Then move to Road Glide special when I outgrow. Great vid Guap!

      Thanks for the feedback and the support!
      It's definitely nice to have that kind of versatility on the sportglide from factory! Maybe they should make a sportglide version on a touring frame, that way you get the versatility with the comfort and stability of a touring model

    • @yellohj2
      @yellohj2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Longhorn Harley-Davidson Yes a Road King Tour Sport. Too bad the new/old Electra Glide Standard isn’t it. I would love to see a touring frame that could be stripped down bags without the ugly underneath, and removable frame mounted fairing.

      I won’t pretend to know how it works but it feels way more stable in the corners. You can lean further on the inverted for some reason

      Thank you,
      I look foreword to seeing it. Since you are a dealership, can you provide me with an Email address. I am also still looking for the dealership I am going to buy it from. Most dealerships don't want to deal on the price. Others will give you deals that do not cut the price. A for instance Thunder Mountain HD in Colorado advertises they will fly you in, put you up in a hotel for 2 nights, then fly you home and ship your bike home (like 3g's worth of benefits). Another HD dealership will give you $3,500 worth of upgrades, but they wont deal with the price. I don't know why they wont deal like car dealerships. Or have places you know where you know you can go, like on "True Car dot Com" and you will have a local dealership contact you with 3-4K off. My local PBA has an auto broker service where they put you InTouch with a local car dealership where you get fleet prices, etc....

      @@arlenewolf5260 As far as I know, that is basically every Harley dealer when it comes to new motorcycles (and it doesn't help that Harley-Davidson has also cut back on production). Online shopping for powersports is completely different than cars, they're different industries and markets(in my opinion based on my experience in both).
      In my experience, your presence at the dealership is your best bargaining chip. At the end of the day if the dealer doesn't treat you right, they haven't earned the right to your business. I hope you find the video helpful, and more importantly, I hope you get the Harley of your dreams! (btw, you can contact through our website --> www.longhornhd.com/contact-us-harley-davidson-dealership-grand-prairie-texas--xcontact )
