In light of the recent tragedy, we've gone through our archives and found this interview from when Nipsey Hussle stopped by KUBE 93's Sunday Night Sound Session to talk to DJ Hyphen and J. Moore on Dec. 5th, 2009. This was Nipsey's second time in Seattle and his second time on Sound Session (first interview here - www.mixcloud.c....
In this interview, the trio talked about a variety of topics: touring/grinding, the discipline required to be a successful artist, how to move professionally within the rap industry, delays with his official debut, the LA scene at the time, things he's learned from OG's plus his advice to younger artists, his acting experience in a movie with Ving Rhames, his favorite foods, his relationship with his father, and more.
As with every one of Nipsey's interviews, you get a sense of just how good a dude he was. He was always working hard, forging a path for his own success, but at the same time, he had his eyes on a bigger prize. It's terribly sad that we won't get to see him continue his journey, but we're grateful for all the contributions he made to the culture.
The same can be said about J. Moore too, of course. Rest In Power to J and Nip. Miss you both.
