    Still have my swag rolled up with my dads handmade leather straps. Very particular smell. It has a very thin mattress- I’ve grown soft …too rough for me now! 😂 great stories from uncle Richard.

    Luke, that flat tyre could be a sign telling you to invest on a set of TPMS. I have one that is relatively inexpensive. The small monitor main unit is stuck on the windscreen that has a solar panel at the back to keep it charged. No need for cables. It's completely wireless (but has an option to power it using a mini-USB, tho I've never needed to charge/power it that way in the 3yrs I've had it).

      won’t stop a flat tyre tho : ) have tried them but constant bipping i chucked em out 😅

    • @fatmanoverlanding
      @fatmanoverlanding ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DriftaCamping4WD Of course it won't (ie. stop a flat) but it will stop you unknowingly driving on a flat tyre. Avoiding potential damage to either or both the tyre (like what happened to your travel companions) and rim. And you know you can adjust the threshold of the beeps, right?

    As an American amateur radio operator, I couldn't help noticing the antenna you're running up front on your brush bar. Was curious what sort of comms you're running there. Great series... have been binge-watching it today. 🙂

    I was surprised to learn where you guys were at on this episode. I was expecting to see some footage of Uluru. Did you guys bypass it? Or simply didn't show them on the video? Richard is such a legend, "You'll never hear the end of it. Ey?" Great stuff.

    • @fatmanoverlanding
      @fatmanoverlanding ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought I missed an episode, and looked at his channel for it. But it seems they must have by-passed it for this trip. Afterall the CSR is their goal. Though Luke's GF might be a little disappointed if she hasn't been there before and they didn't go.

    Sadly all those old skills are gradually disappearing. My grandfathers brother was a saddler and went over to New Zealand during the 30s and made a great living over there doing leather products. Pity I wasn't alive then to hear and see those skills in action.
