Lee DeCoske Aaahh. Good question. No. Islam does not indoctrin the original sin concept. We are kind of opposite. So say you have a thought that you new was a sin..or bad..but you did not act upon it. That in itself turns into a good deed. And if you commit a sin, but honestly did not know it was a sin, you are forgiven. Allah is very, very forgiving. One of the pillars is zakat, which is in the same line as tideing in Christianity. But in Islam, if you do not have finances for this, a smile to a stranger is an act of charity. Im very happy to hear of your interest. I would say, if possible, a Mosque to ask questions as a place to start. The brothers are always thrilled when someone comes looking for information. Islam is the truth, I used to suffer from depression all the time , I was always worried about the worldly life. After I started to pray five times a day, all my depression and anxiety vanished. I tend to think that although a hell of a lot of people still think that they need religion, the more we evolve as a species, the less we will feel religion to be important in our lifes, and religion of any kind, will inevitably become redundant. I think eventually people will look back at our time, and consider the madness committed in the name of religion, as just our primitive past.
Avinash Arasu yeah mate, I can relate. However, I think we as a species are still very primitive, and evolution in every aspect, just takes time. I'm a bit of a buddhist in the way of thinking it first and foremost important to deal with our individual inmaturity, and that means to me, to not blame or bless anyone or anything for our feelings, be they of hate or love, or something in between. I believe that we all as individuals, must take responsibility for our feelings, thoughts and actions. I think developing kindness and compassion for all sentient beings, is a positive move in the right direction, but it's not easy, but then again, since when is anything truely worthwhile ever easy?
Avinash Arasu I think becoming a buddhist is not really a conversion, because buddhism is not a religion, but rather a philosophy of life - I think at the heart and mind of buddhism is meditation - there are heaps of different kinds of meditation techniques out there, but I can not enough recommend learning an insight meditation called Vipassana - especially as it is taught by Goenka, because he insist to keep the purity of generosity, meaning people do not pay for the retreat, but give in monetary terms what they can afford, or wish to give in return for having had the opportunity to learn this meditation technique, given shelter and food. Learning the basic meditation, requires a person to commit to a ten day course, taking a vowel of silence, and five precepts, like a buddhist nun or monk, but it's at the same time universal, regardless of creed, gender, or else. It's not an easy thing to learn this meditation technique, but it is so incredibly beneficial, I keep telling people about it at every opportunity. For the first three days one is asked to observe ones breath as it's going in and out, so just observing the natural breath, while trying to sit still for an hour - don't worry, no-one can sit still for an hour when one first starts. One can change the sitting position or leave the meditation hall any time, as long as one returns and tries again. Only observing ones breath seems to be an easy task, however it is not, because the unschooled mind will jump about into the past or future, and it takes effford to remain in the present moment, only observing ones breath. After three days of practice, the mind is able to perceive the sensations on the body, which are always there, but go unoticed in our busy daily life. Then the practice of Vipassana can take place - and it's only about observation of the natural occurance within the mind/body phenomena, so it's individually perceived and experienced. I think that an introduction to buddhism can not be more profound than learning to understand the nature of the 'monkey mind' jumping into past, or future, and not wanting to stay in the present moment. This is what the buddha taught, to come to realisations and enlightenment through ones own application - all that is intellectual and based in thought and reason, will become understood in terms of reality as it is, and not as we want it to be. I really wish for you to have the best foundation of looking at buddhism as a way of life, and that means to me, that you come to an understanding of the nature of mind and matter, in an experiential manner first, and intellectually second.
I'm not a Muslim, but a former Christian and now unbeliever of any religions. But I must concede to my fellow brothers and sisters that watching this video made me unusually happy...perhaps because I find it amazing how so many people can be transcended through prayer and song. I don't believe in any religion...but I maintain that Belief, and believing in something offers one more happiness than the one who says "I believe in nothing". I love the Muslim People, and though there are rays of truth in Islam, the absolute truth is in Christ. Right now Iran has one of the fasted growing Christian communities in the world and Muslims are converting throughout the world every day. My advice to my Muslim brothers is keep your minds and hearts open to spiritual truth. Look deeply into what is taught in the Koran and the Hadith, but look into what is taught in Christianity as well. Read the Bible and see what Christ said and did in the Gospels and how it fulfilled the prophesies of the Old Testament, but most importantly, don't punish somebody for leaving Islam or choosing not to convert. I know that leaving Islam is considered a grave sin in Islamic faith, but not so in Christianity. Christ knows that at times our faith will wane and we will doubt God, but if we leave and realize that we were wrong and decide to come back, Christ will welcome us with open arms.

No, Christ said Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, mind and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater commandment then these. God is love, he is not hate, and if you hate, you are separating yourself from God's everlasting love, and thus separating yourself from God. Love is better than hate, forgiveness is better than revenge, peace is better than war, and light is better than darkness. Christ is the light. I cannot hate people, even when they do me harm. I used to, but in the end, I only hurt myself. I only felt despair, I never found peace with hate.

I think its wrong to assume that people are fighting islam at least in most of the west. The average person in the west just doesn't care about Islam. We aren't interested in it because we are indifferent to it. When we in the west look at Islam we see a world of dysfunction. Over populated countries with declining standards of living, political violence, suppression of minorities, sectarian violence, gender inequality and a generally superstitious poorly educated populace. It has nothing to recommend it. The Muslims who come to west and stay wedded to the traditional aspects of their religion become misfits in their adopted societies. I always think it odd that Muslims come to the west for new life in a new land and then try to recreate their old life in a new land that cares absolutely nothing about your concerns.

Would not, say, a Frenchman who emigrated overseas, continue to speak French and eat French food? But that's what Westerners are: hypocrites. Consider all the recent incidences of anti-Semitism in France. Now I find extraordinary the fact that many Westerners now are atheists, but make religions out of following music and film stars, for example. And they can't scientifically prove that a God doesn't exist. Among other definitions of who the righteous are in the opening verses of Al Baqarah, the righteous are those who fear God and have certainty of faith in the hereafter. It does not say hum yu'minoon, it says hum yooqinoon. It is one thing to have a firm belief in the hereafter but totally another to have *certainty* of faith in it. Certainty can only be achieved once one has communion with God Almighty and his heart has been filled with His majesty. Don't let the so-called scholars and Islamic shaikhs tell you anything to the contrary of what the essence of Islam is or of any other religion in its original form. God is such a treasure that if one knew what is possible after a living friendship and communion with Him, he would run after Him like a lost and desperate man in a desert would run after a friendly caravan far away. I'm afraid most Islamic leaders, shaikhs and maulawis have turned Islam into a bland and dry code of physical movements, vocal rantings, and singing that appeals to the ear and temporarily to the heart. The Quran will not go passed throats. Realize the essence of Islam is to be able to recognize your creator, be His true friends (waliullah) and help others get there. That is it. That is all. That is how unity of God can be establish in the world and that is the only way the good from mankind can be united.

Lee DeCoske Aaahh. Good question. No. Islam does not indoctrin the original sin concept. We are kind of opposite. So say you have a thought that you new was a sin..or bad..but you did not act upon it. That in itself turns into a good deed. And if you commit a sin, but honestly did not know it was a sin, you are forgiven. Allah is very, very forgiving. One of the pillars is zakat, which is in the same line as tideing in Christianity. But in Islam, if you do not have finances for this, a smile to a stranger is an act of charity.

However, it's like an exam with two distinct papers. You passed paper 1. Now is the time to pass the second paper cause both are required to pass the eventual exam, right dear sister? So Allah's orders have to be fulfilled. Such as: Offering prayers.
My dear sister, maybe I'm too young to say all these and a bit immature too. Nonetheless, I understand your pain, it breaks my heart and I break down into tears when I think about the reverts and their hard times! I feel like I'm so lucky to be able to worship my beloved Lord without facing any difficulties; nevertheless, at the same time, my heart cries for those who are having hardships.
We have hope! Our Allah loves us! We say "Subhanallahi wabihamdihi" only once, and it is as if we get a reward which will fill up the entire space from the sky to the ground! [ You can check out the very last hadith from bukhari]
We must not lose hope. You can still praise Allah the exalted in you heart. You can always remember Him and that won't cause any trouble cause this way, your family won't realize that you are a Muslim, yet you are doing some good deeds- thus, passing the paper 2 and the eventual exam.
Keep praying to Allah for you and your family too. And I promise, I will pray for you and for all the reverts, for Allah making your lives easier for you! Ameen O Allah!

I tend to think that although a hell of a lot of people still think that they need religion, the more we evolve as a species, the less we will feel religion to be important in our lifes, and religion of any kind, will inevitably become redundant. Avinash Arasu yeah mate, I can relate. However, I think we as a species are still very primitive, and evolution in every aspect, just takes time. I'm a bit of a buddhist in the way of thinking it first and foremost important to deal with our individual inmaturity, and that means to me, to not blame or bless anyone or anything for our feelings, be they of hate or love, or something in between. I believe that we all as individuals, must take responsibility for our feelings, thoughts and actions. I think developing kindness and compassion for all sentient beings, is a positive move in the right direction, but it's not easy, but then again, since when is anything truely worthwhile ever easy?
Avinash Arasu I think becoming a buddhist is not really a conversion, because buddhism is not a religion, but rather a philosophy of life - I think at the heart and mind of buddhism is meditation - there are heaps of different kinds of meditation techniques out there, but I can not enough recommend learning an insight meditation called Vipassana - especially as it is taught by Goenka, because he insist to keep the purity of generosity, meaning people do not pay for the retreat, but give in monetary terms what they can afford, or wish to give in return for having had the opportunity to learn this meditation technique, given shelter and food. Learning the basic meditation, requires a person to commit to a ten day course, taking a vowel of silence, and five precepts, like a buddhist nun or monk, but it's at the same time universal, regardless of creed, gender, or else.
It's not an easy thing to learn this meditation technique, but it is so incredibly beneficial, I keep telling people about it at every opportunity. For the first three days one is asked to observe ones breath as it's going in and out, so just observing the natural breath, while trying to sit still for an hour - don't worry, no-one can sit still for an hour when one first starts. One can change the sitting position or leave the meditation hall any time, as long as one returns and tries again. Only observing ones breath seems to be an easy task, however it is not, because the unschooled mind will jump about into the past or future, and it takes effford to remain in the present moment, only observing ones breath. After three days of practice, the mind is able to perceive the sensations on the body, which are always there, but go unoticed in our busy daily life. Then the practice of Vipassana can take place - and it's only about observation of the natural occurance within the mind/body phenomena, so it's individually perceived and experienced. I think that an introduction to buddhism can not be more profound than learning to understand the nature of the 'monkey mind' jumping into past, or future, and not wanting to stay in the present moment. This is what the buddha taught, to come to realisations and enlightenment through ones own application - all that is intellectual and based in thought and reason, will become understood in terms of reality as it is, and not as we want it to be. I really wish for you to have the best foundation of looking at buddhism as a way of life, and that means to me, that you come to an understanding of the nature of mind and matter, in an experiential manner first, and intellectually second.

I love the Muslim People, and though there are rays of truth in Islam, the absolute truth is in Christ. Right now Iran has one of the fasted growing Christian communities in the world and Muslims are converting throughout the world every day. My advice to my Muslim brothers is keep your minds and hearts open to spiritual truth. Look deeply into what is taught in the Koran and the Hadith, but look into what is taught in Christianity as well. Read the Bible and see what Christ said and did in the Gospels and how it fulfilled the prophesies of the Old Testament, but most importantly, don't punish somebody for leaving Islam or choosing not to convert. I know that leaving Islam is considered a grave sin in Islamic faith, but not so in Christianity. Christ knows that at times our faith will wane and we will doubt God, but if we leave and realize that we were wrong and decide to come back, Christ will welcome us with open arms.

I think its wrong to assume that people are fighting islam at least in most of the west. The average person in the west just doesn't care about Islam. We aren't interested in it because we are indifferent to it. When we in the west look at Islam we see a world of dysfunction. Over populated countries with declining standards of living, political violence, suppression of minorities, sectarian violence, gender inequality and a generally superstitious poorly educated populace. It has nothing to recommend it. The Muslims who come to west and stay wedded to the traditional aspects of their religion become misfits in their adopted societies. I always think it odd that Muslims come to the west for new life in a new land and then try to recreate their old life in a new land that cares absolutely nothing about your concerns.

That is what others see around you and are attracted to. When from a moral person you become a Godly person and truly start to emulate the attributes of God, the purpose of our creation is fulfilled. Everyone and everything is attracted to perfection, innocence and such high morals.
It isn't enough to sit back and relax that the hard work of the founder of Islam, his companions and the early Muslims has been done. Allah has perfected this religion. It is invincible. Nothing can defeat Islam.
Islam gives us this confidence. That we are so proud of its unmatched beauty and power. What have we done for Islam? By we I mean mostly the Muslims that are in ease and may see videos like this to feel proud but give little back. Have we followed Islam with our heart? Have we been pained so much by the defaming of Islam and the face of the beloved (s.a.w.w.) that we have stayed up nights upon nights praying about it, sending durood on him (s.a.w.w.)? The reality is we care, but we don't really. That has never benefited anyone. The true followers of Jesus (as), the young men of (As-haab) Al-Kahf hid in a cave for a long time and endured hardships to protect their belief of unity of God when the false belief in trinity had spread across the land.
The best thing we can do for Islam and for humanity is to first rid our hearts of any traces of enmity, malice and hatred, then do our best to rid others in our circle of influence of these evils. Prayers are not accepted if one harbors ill feelings about another. Do not throw the Quran behind your backs. Learn the beauties of the Quran. It is guidance for the righteous. Among other definitions of who the righteous are in the opening verses of Al Baqarah, the righteous are those who fear God and have certainty of faith in the hereafter. It does not say hum yu'minoon, it says hum yooqinoon. It is one thing to have a firm belief in the hereafter but totally another to have *certainty* of faith in it. Certainty can only be achieved once one has communion with God Almighty and his heart has been filled with His majesty.
Don't let the so-called scholars and Islamic shaikhs tell you anything to the contrary of what the essence of Islam is or of any other religion in its original form. God is such a treasure that if one knew what is possible after a living friendship and communion with Him, he would run after Him like a lost and desperate man in a desert would run after a friendly caravan far away. I'm afraid most Islamic leaders, shaikhs and maulawis have turned Islam into a bland and dry code of physical movements, vocal rantings, and singing that appeals to the ear and temporarily to the heart. The Quran will not go passed throats.
Realize the essence of Islam is to be able to recognize your creator, be His true friends (waliullah) and help others get there. That is it. That is all. That is how unity of God can be establish in the world and that is the only way the good from mankind can be united.

i started to cry i thank god that i was born into a muslim family i am so happy right now the quran i always wonder how this is so amazing
..this is not about the numbers ..but the *reaction and responses this prayer elicits from them*..
... genuine emotions, spirituality, vulnerability... ignoring everything else ...nothing else matters to these ppl at this moment ...their r in front of their *Creator* ...conscious and aware of Him ...and in there they find *true purpose and great strength* .. ..numbers only matter as a logical and legitimate consolidation of the same point .. u see the tears on one man inspired by that recitation is one thing ..but seeing loads of them crying that makes u more convinced in their conviction and truthfulness of it all .... thats why Islam will eventually prevail ....who ever experiences it ..can't go back ...it's about what it has to offer ..and what Islam has to offer is *the Truth* believe it or not ladies and gentlemen .. Peace to u all ..

there is somthing beautiful in this religion when u fight it and try to stop it u will find it spread more and more its happend during Prophet Muhammed life and happining nowdays . after 11\9 all the media around the world were fighting Islam and the results Islam became in every country in this world even inside Us alot of american themselves converted to Islam its the miracle of Islam i love all the muslims around the world and pray for nonmuslims
