- On March 30, 2013, television host, political commentator and author Rachel Maddow gave a talk on topics related to her book, Drift: The Unmooring of American Power. She was introduced by President Biddy Martin and the President of the Association of Amherst Students, Tania Dias '13.

The brighter a person is and the more knowledgeable they are, the more respect they have for Dr Maddow.

I love Rachel Maddow. I hope she would run for President of U. S. But the position is so complex and controversial that I don't really believe she would take the job. I also love her show. She is very knowledgeable and informative. Peace to Rachel. I just really believe she is hip and right on point as a News reporter.

A lesbian, yes. Liberal absolutely. Jewish, no. She's not Jewish.
Her paternal grandfather was Eastern European Jewish.
I believe she has Ashkenazic heritage. But she was raised in a very Catholic household and maintains Christian faith about which she is often vocal.

Rach, I don't think you should give an identical speech in 2 or more places. I know it's more work for you but I think you can use some variation and storyline juggling, so each speech you give will be more unique. I've heard this speech at two different places.
