Cello Beginner Level: Shifting to 2nd Position

"Upper 2nd Position"
Shifting in cello can be a bit confusing. Have you heard your teacher ask you to shift to "2nd Position"? Only later on you get a quizzical look on your face because you soon discover that 2nd pos. is not as straight forward as it would at first seem.
There are, in fact, three different possibilities for a 2nd position. In this video I aim to clear up the confusion by utilizing the term "Upper 2nd Position" whenever the first finger in placed on the F-sharp (on the D string), et al.
It will help immensely once you are also familiar with the other possibilities of 2nd position.
