Until watching this video I avoided making rice but now with your excellent instruction I'm ready to finally make rice this way. Thank you, Urvashi.

I love the video tutorials. It adds an entirely new dimension to the cookbook. Very contemporary! I can't wait to start cooking!!

Wow. Great information. I downloaded the sheets last week and read them. Great info to have. Explained a lot but after a couple of minutes into the video I realised you explain a few things a bit more in depth than what is on the sheets so I opened it up and followed along. I feel this will help me recall the extra little bits in the vid when I am referring to the sheets. Wow, the sheets and the video go together so well. And the sheets have a bonus, three extra pages not covered in the video. I am greatful you did both. Thank you.

Hi Urvashi.....I love your videos because you think and speak like I do (jumping around!) but you explain things beautifully! I have learned things I never knew about cooking in my 68 years, specially scientific information. I’ve recently bought an IP Duo 6L and have given away my slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer and am going to give away my Hawkins pressure too because this little gadget does it all, and more! I bought your Indian cookbook and love the recipes because my Indian family are from all across the country and have lots of Maharashtrian friends and relatives whose cuisine I just adore. You’ve got yourself a permanent follower!

When you talk about time, are you also first pressing the Rice function button and then adjusting the time and pressure level?

I have a question about grits . I cant find a grits video so a general question about timing. If you are pressure cooking grits and doing a 1/2 recipe do you reduce the time of the cook?

What do you do when you want to make a larger amount? I tried doubling the recipe and it came out kinda sticky. When I put the masala sauce on the rice nobody cared, but I was hoping it was going to be fluffier.

Whew...glad it wasn't something I did wrong. I hope you're able to figure it out and then you can let us all know with an update. ;)

If only brown rice completed all dishes as it's husk left on the kernels is the reason it is so fibrous. My somewhat deformed colon has proven this to be very true. Another great thing about brown rice is that it is extremely filling because it expands in our stomachs so I feel full quickly and therefor eat much less food when brown rice is with my meals.
