Brandon At 80 years of age, I can only pray that I may be blessed enough to have a face-to-face discussion and sharing session with you. May our GOD, YAHWEH, forever keep and bless you and yours...in the Love and Name of JESUS, the Christ, I pray all things. Amen.
Very interesting Brandon. Quite a while ago I came to the conclusion that Hell as it has been preached from Christian pulpits for many years is not the one found in the Bible. The standard narrative of Hell as a place of eternal torment with grinning demons torturing imperfect Christians and millions of others, all presided over by Satan on his throne . . . is absurd.
It's primarily talking about the King of Tyre, but as Paul says our battle is not against the flesh and rulers, powers and principalities of the spiritual world. So God could be looking past the king and also talking to the Satan and his angels who helped bring about his destruction as well as their own.
@@perfectpeace00Paul is the Man of Lawlessness. Of course he would try to claim humans aren't what we should worry about. Without people those unclean and wicked spirits are just wandering through waterless places with zero ability to influence anything.
For all of us that first learned the Apostle Creed that Jesus was Crucified, died and was buried. He descended to Hades. It makes perfect sense of what the Church Fathers were teaching, not only did he die, he dwelt among the dead. Changing the creed to descended to hell really confuses the modern Christian.
Exactly. It's super important for Christian theology to know that Christ descended to the dark depths of Hades. And was teaching for our salvation for 3 days. Most protestant denominations don't realise this
Ephesians 4:7 But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.” 9 (In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is also He who ascended far above all the heavens that He might fill all things.)
Hell = Hades in the older English of King James day. The idea of a place of suffering came from Dante's depiction which has to be recognized as fiction.
The ancient rabbis taught very little concerning an afterlife. The ancient Jews were never threatened with eternal unquenchable fire. In Daniel, we read a brief and unspecific teaching on an afterlife. An afterlife was something the Jews didn't concern themselves with.
I almost put this one on the back burner because of the clickbait title, but I'm glad I gave it a listen - this is hugely informative and food for future thought.
Hell is not a place where people will be tormented . Hell is the lake of fire that will DESTROY the dragon, the beast, the false prophets and all wickedness.

I find it interesting that “the church” has such detailed knowledge of all the aspects, areas, levels, practices, residents, and general workings of hell. They seem to know more about hell than about the very world we live on, or heaven for that matter. And almost all of this knowledge is NOT in the bible. I have to wonder, just how did the “Church” come by such detailed knowledge?
They haven’t. We know nothing apart from the Word. We have already been warned of all of this self-created, clever ideas we think we’re so smart to have: Galatians 1:8-12 NKJV But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
Catholicism is an Anti-christ. Why is it that only "the Vatican" can dispel daemons? Because they are bringing them into HERE. They are the puppet masters.

Okay, so explain this . Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15 NIV. And explain this. “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ Luke 16:22-24 NIV Hell is very real, and very much why Jesus died. He didn't die to save us from ourselves. He died to save us from Hell. You can try and pick a verse here and verse there to make it mean what you want, but it doesn't fit the overall context of scripture.
Why would Jesus die to save us from a place God created? Jesus died to give us all the opportunity to obtain eternal life. Why would God create people just to torment them for eternity. Those not found in the lambs book of life will be destroyed in the lake of fire.
Because God didn't create hell for us. It was when man chose to sin, the human race was from that point in need of a savior. To save us from death. The second death, which is Hell. If there was no judgment for the evil we have done, then would God be a just God? So the serial killer, or the mass rapist would go into the afterlife without justice and just rest in peace, or go to Heaven? No, that would be fair. God will judge fairly. And the Bible says that all have sinned and all are deserving of death. We all deserve God's judgement. We have all lied, all stolen, all cheated, taken the Lord's name in vain. We have committed adultery (if only in our hearts.) We deserve the price for our sin, which is death. But, because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, we can have forgiveness of our sins, if we believe in Jesus and turn from our sins, confess with our mouth he is Lord and that God raised Jesus from the dead, we will be saved. Saved from Hell.
@@ehdforlife is a lifetime worth of sin punishable by eternity in torment? Have you ever been burned for just a minute? What good would it serve God to have people living and suffering for all eternity rather than just destroying all evil. Do you know if the fiery hell that we know of fire and brimstone was taught by the early church or if this doctrine was added into the Christian bible by the same people that wanted to scare people into compliance?
Wow! Part 3 was a revelation. It astounds me how so many churches and Christians get it wrong and keep perpetuating this false narrative of what 'hell' is. Today, it is more important than ever to focus on how God's kingdom will prevail and how we, who are on the side of Jesus, have nothing to fear. Christians ought to share the message of hope & life, rather than use false teachings to scare others into the kingdom. The bible is clearly not god's word, this has been known now for a very long time, it's easy to prove and should more or less be common sense, since i have heart a few thousand christians admit it anyway. but the biggest point is... to follow the bible (A word that is not god's own) IS TO LITERALLY COMMIT A MORTAL SIN AGAINST GOD so you really have to wonder what the hell are christians doing They don't listen to atheist's They don't listen to christians They don't listen to christ They don't listen to god what they DO do is They listen to themselves and whatever they want to believe Maybe also take that on board for your bible study Maybe discuss the concept of... 1. You are correct.... same experience here... I fell that I have been blessed with some revelation on this. See my post, just above.... Eternal hell fire is a confused and FALSE DOCTRINE. One of Satan's biggest and most effective. How many countless numbers of people have been kept from hearing the gospel, because of 'the threat of hell fire'. WOW For us (mortal humans), there is no eternal hell fire. Hell, as mentioned, truly is a reference to the grave and death. The wages of sin DEATH. We must be saved, lest we PERISH. The lake of fire has been prepared for Satan and his demons. They are eternal beings. WE, are not. We were created of the dust of the earth, to which we will return. We were given (lended) God's breath of life, which goes back to God when we die. For those who are not saved, the end is death... The SECOND DEATH. (read in Revelation) For those who are saved, they are resurrected, changed, transformed, INCORRUPTIBLE (eternal). As the angels, who do not die. The SECOND DEATH holds no power over them. Thus they can be with the Lord, forever. AMEN
I completely agree. The "everything that you think you know is wrong" is pretty common nowadays. It's a short cut to self esteem and followers. It's also very disrespectful to those who have come before. It's like saying: "Everyone has been a moron..... until I came onto the scene." If you listen to the videos from the fad diets or whatever the latest craze is, they do this, too. They always have some good facts, but usually *overstated* and unbalanced.
This is really good. I've actually been to Caesarea Philippi, and our guide at the time told us the same thing about the cave as you are saying here. Whether or not hell is an actual place is irrelevant. What we've been told about hell with fire and brimstone is not the worst of it. The worst of judgement for people is the separation from God. God created man to be in relationship. We were connected to be in connection with him in every way, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, even physically as we were when He walked with us in the garden. Sin severed that connection, and we've been searching for it in all the wrong places ever since. But even then, we have not been completely separated from God because Romans 1:20 tells us that God's invisible qualities are all around us in His creation. In "hell" or "death" or whatever you call it, God is completely gone, not present, connection in all aspects is gone. A person created for this connection is void...that is hell
God is omnipresent so he still is there in Sheol and would still be present in Hell or the lake of fire in the center of the Earth. But I get your point. Hell is void of everything good because God is good. They only presence of God felt by those on Hell is God's just judgement.
We are already seperated from God, and have been since the fall of man. That's the whole reason for Jesus, God, paying our debt, so that after judgement, we will be granted eternal life, as opposed to final destruction. By him, Jesus, all things consist, meaning he would be actively holding souls alive by his power in an eternal torment theology. The second death is him letting go of those souls and allowing them to be destroyed completely.
A lot of people live their whole lives seperated from God, so they wouldn't care. You can only feel lose of a relationship you previously had. You won't miss something you never had.
Heaven and hell Do matter. The whole point is eternity. Why live day to day in this terrible world and all its problems, if you just die and there is nothing else? Why bother if there is nothing to aim for, strive for?
After listening to this video, I’m not sure I understand what exactly you’re teaching about hell. Are you saying there is no hell? Are you saying there is a hell, but it’s not as bad as what people believe? Or maybe you’re saying it’s bad, but it’s only temporary? You said there are misunderstandings, but you didn’t clarify the actual misunderstandings themselves - only to say these verses aren’t really about hell.
He’s making this way too complicated. Sheol in the OT and Hades in the NT are synonymous and simply mean the grave, or the state of being dead. The word hell comes from Roman Catholicism and is very misleading. Better translations will say the grave. There are two other instances in the NT where “hell” is used and come from the Greek words Gehenna and Tartarus. 2 Pet 2:4 talks about fallen angels being in prison until Judgement day. The word there is Tartarus and should not be translated as “hell”. This is also what Jude 6 is talking about. When the scriptures talk about the 2nd death in the lake of fire for the unsaved and satan and the fallen angels, the word Gehenna is used and should not be translated as “hell”. This is where the confusion is. When Jesus says that he will build his church and the gates of hades (the grave, death, dead) will not prevail. He’s eluding to the resurrection. Because even when they killed believers, the church still grew. And that is still the hope of all believers after they die: the resurrection. The first resurrection that is. You don’t want to be a part of the 2nd resurrection. That is what the parable in Luke 16 is about. The two resurrections.
He is saying the words commonly translated to Hell are not referring to Hell as we know it or what we were taught. They are referring to the land of the dead, the grave where the righteous and unrighteous go after death while they wait resurrection. Hell as we know is the lake of fire which is meant for the devil and his angels. No one is thrown into the lake until judgement day.
@perfectpeace00 If hell is just the place where people wait for judgment day, righteous and unrighteous alike, then why is hell also thrown into the lake of fire according to Revelation? Something is missing with this explanation, and it sounds a lot like soul sleep, which is unbiblical.
@@humblewatchman1673 Jesus warned to be afraid of the only one who could destroy the soul, second death. It isn't soul sleep but complete annihilation. All of the extreme biblical language about hades/gahenna etc is trying to get the point across that after judgement, those who die without Jesus are burned up, and those who die in Jesus are given eternal life. There is nothing anywhere in the Bible that says eternal life in torment is the punishment for sin, rather an eternal destruction is, "the wages of sin is death." Meaning, that death after judgement is a final death. If all things consist by Jesus' Power, and they do, then those souls in an eternal torment in the modern view of hell are actively held together and kept alive by him also. This is unbiblical and has done more to hurt the gospel than most people realize.
I find this so interesting, translated from Greek, Latin , Hebrew, to English. The languages was different how each spoke and interpretation of the language, I appreciate this video, I listened closely to what this man says, and yes it does make sense, than what I was taught in school, plus Bible studies, Bible is NOT easy to read and fully understand, why Brandon and his teachings are valuable.
Given what we read about Satan in Revelation Chap 12. the story of Lucifer could easily be about Satan and Isaiah was using that to compare the king to Satan. Those King often thought of them selves as gods and wanted the people to see them that way as well. ???
I agree. The passage is primarily talking about the King of Tyre, but as Paul says our battle is not against the flesh but the rulers, powers and principalities of the spiritual world. So God could be looking past the king and also talking to the Satan and his angels who helped bring about the king's destruction as well as their own.
You are right, God is giving us multiple revelations through Isaiah. This passage is talking about the King as well as Satan as well as the anti-christ.

@@Michael0841 That was a parable, which Christ told along with several other parables. In this parable the rich man asked for Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in the water to cool his tongue. Could you please share as well your view on the lake of fire? Is it a literal place of eternal punishment, or is it a metaphor for a (inner) purification-process of sinners? The lake of fire, or the fires of Gehena, are symbolic. In bible times, there were trash pits burning outside the cities for burning waste and once the fire burned it up, it was gone forever, as opposed to a dump where it can be dug back up and found. According to the bible, when you die you, God may remember you and thus you may be up for a resurrection to live forever in paradise conditions, but if you are slated for the fire, you will not be remembered by God, and you are gone forever, as your memory will have been burned up by the fire so to speak. Hell, and Hades are not places of eternal torment, they are just the state of nothingness during death. At that point, you either have a hope to regain life, or he will not remember you, and that's the fire, not receiving a resurrection. I hope this helps explain things a little better. Don't listen to this guy in the video, he's another charlatan.
@@jimo3173 Dear Jim Thanks for your response. You said, that the lake of fire and gehenna are symbolic. But gehenna was (or is) a really existant valley near Jerusalem, what was also communicated in this video. On what bible passages do you base your statements, that some people will be burned and annihilated after death forever? And all these in the bible mentioned places like gehenna, hades or the like of fire only are used in a symbolic way, as you say, then it doesn't make sense that people will be trown in a real fire after death. And why do you think that the guy of this video is a charlatan? Which of his statements are proven wrong? Thanks in advance for your answer and best greetings from Switzerland, Manuel
@@wetti2004 I said that it was a real place used to burn garbage so what did you miss there? The bible uses that as an example of how if God doesn't view you as worthy, you simply will not be remembered and brought back through the resurrection. In other words, your memory will be gone forever like as if burned up in a fire, not your literal body would be put in fire. If you really believe in God and really believe He's a loving God, would He really let a place of eternal torment exist where you suffer for all eternity because you were bad for maybe 100 years if you live that long? What kind of a God would He be if He did? I would not want to know a God like that.
@@jimo3173 My (original) question was not about gehenna, but about the lake of fire, and if it is a literal place or just a metaphor. And what exactly does it mean for people to be thrown into the lake of fire. If it would be for eternal torment, for annihilation or for purification.
@@wetti2004 The short answer is annihilation. As I said, the lake of fire and other references to being cast into it are referring to eternal death. That's what the second death is, no more chance for a resurrection at all, ever. Not you literally burn, you just are completely forgotten eternally. If you still have a hard time grasping this, maybe you should seek out a bible study with someone in your area. Learning more about the bible clears up a lot of questions over time.
The people of the old testament had a view of sheol that wasn't fully consistent with reality. The greek idea of hades was more consistent with sheol's actual makeup. We see in the story of Lazarus and the rich man that the unrighteous are tormented in flame while the righteous are at rest separated from one another. This place of torment is referred to as tartarus in the greek by Peter when he wrote about the angels which God cast into the pit. This image of tartarus in scripture is the image that is most consistent with the image that people have of hell today; a firey place of torment which the evil go to when they die. The gates of hell as a part of His declaration about the Church I didn't understand until a minister at my Church told us that the gates of hell was the place where the tribe of Dan left God. We see in the book of Revelation that the tribe of Dan is not counted among the ones sealed. Because of this God caused me to understand that this part of the declaration was that the "gates of hell" or rather the things they represented would not prevail at leading away the Church from God. The reference to "lucifer" in Isaiah is infact a reference to satan. It is referring not only to his fall from heaven "how thou art fallen from heaven", but also to being cast into hell "but to hell[sheol] you shall be brought down to the lowest depths of the pit".
@humblewatchman1673 This is a different example. Turn the other cheek. They would backhand you striking with the back right hand to the right side of the face. Turn offering the left side. He can't strike you now. It was a self-defense move. Jesus wasn't a fool. It's not about letting them hit your other cheek. Did I explain this correctly.
I love it when people in their 60s are humble enough to consider that what they believed their whole life was wrong. I fellowship with such people, it’s wonderful to see their hunger for truth as they study the scriptures for themselves, praise God.
Honestly, it’s very few who come to this realization. The values we’re taught in school, by society, through popular culture are just a form of getting caught up in the moment and being a product of our environment. Given enough time, people eventually would learn that status, wealth, position, sex, money, possessions, etc… aren’t important at all. But our span of days aren’t long enough for most of humanity to learn this lesson. What’s truly important, the only thing that is, is that we live our life to love each other and make everyone we come across have a better existence. Our lives aren’t about us, they’re about those around us. Helping and caring for others should be our only concern. Our culture has been corrupted by materialism, capitalism and self-indulgence. We’ve lost a sense of community and brotherly love in pursuit of material and tangential “things”, just stuff that are superficial. I want to leave this earth better than I found it. One person at a time.
I'm surprised almost all those responding to this video don't realize that this man is actually lying and hiding the truth, to make you believe that hell is not a place of burning, of torment and eternal damnation. Then what would he say about the lake of fire, where all the wicked will be thrown into after the final judgement? Avoid the lies of this man.
This was really interesting. I like how you bring up the linguistic problems with the teachings on hell and discuss them in relation to the historical context. Really good. One thing that I wonder is, if it’s as simple as that everyone deserves condemnation and those that don’t accept Jesus as lord and savior will go to hell for all eternity, why isn’t this said in exact, plain language that gives no room for alternative interpretations or misunderstanding?
Jesus does say, in very plain language, what you have stated. In John 3:18, Jesus says, "he who does not believe is condemned already." This is saying that the default position of everyone, before believing, is "condemned already," which is the equivalent of saying "everyone deserves condemnation." Moreover, Jesus says in John 8:24: "if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins," and to those who die in their sins, Jesus said earlier in John 8:21: "Where I go (back to heaven) you cannot come." Revelation chapter 21 mentions only two places where people can spend all of eternity, either in the new heaven and new earth (verse 1), or in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone (verse 8). Verse 23 indicates that God (The Father) and the Lamb (Jesus, God the Son) are in the new heaven and new earth, and verse 24 says the nations of those who are saved are there as well. Those who are saved are those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life, according to verse 27. However, those who are not written in the Book of Life, so those who are not saved, are cast into the lake of fire, according to Revelation 20:15. These statements are all given in very plain language, unless one chooses to interpret the plain language symbolically or in some other way.
@@benjaminste The text itself can't be inherently accepted as symbolic unless the nature of the text itself either says to or in the case it is clear that it could not be literal, this pertains to things which are not the works of God and what He does with nature, but on things that clearly can't be described to make sense as anything but parables, proverbs, or homilies.
This is a very good teaching video. Thank you! Now, a little creative suggestion. Maybe it's my Sherlock Holmes-notice-every-detail mindset, but every time you gesture the table flexes and the books and plant move slightly. It's distracting to my hyperactive mind. Be blessed!
Things like: That "place" Hell doesn't exist. and: The closest thing to that idea of hell you have is the simple state of being without god. You're right, those are things people don't teach you. They should.
Exactly. It's the most important part.. God creates no hells. Shadow is but the absence of light. And hell the absence of god's grace. Because if those kind of unrepentant people were to experience God's love and grace, it would burn them. It would make them physically suffer. You can't mix the holy and the unholy. Hell is just lack of tolerance for God's goodness and mercy... .
What this video says makes no sense. Why have the cross, the need for repentance, if hell doesn't exist? No heaven or hell means that all we have is this life. So you might as well just do what you want. YOLO, according to your video. Without eternity, everything we do means nothing. There is no point getting up in the morning, if it counts for nothing in the end. Heaven and hell make sense. It forces you to strive for something, an end goal. You need motivation. It the.n means your actions, your decisions mean something. Good comes with rewards, bad comes with consequences. Life has meaning. What we do and say has meaning. Nothing matters without eternity. It is all meaningless. It is the carrot or the stick. Children behave because of fear of punishment. The existence of hell keeps people in line. Without heaven and hell, we have anarchy and apathy. Society can't function without rules, laws and consequences.
@@dhenderson1810 exactly. Rational thinking in this entire comment. Without God's sacrifice and Resurrection. And without eternal life, nothing matters and the entire Christian faith and theology crumbles
Brandon is to be commended for his honesty. He rightly points out that in the OT, Sheol is simply the receptacle of the dead. It was the place were all the dead went. A place of no conscious existence . (Ecc 9 : 5, 10 ). Likewise, her explains what the Bible says about the Valley of Hinnom, which still exists. Ir was a symbol of destruction. He also gives some interesting historical and geographic background to the words of Jesus. When we consider all of this, it shows that many are way off in their understanding of 'hell.'
Matthew 5:22 in my Bible says this "22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire." Which is totally different from the translation in Brandons video so which one is right??
Thank you for this. People don't realize just how much allegory and such is inherent in the scriptures. Much as people think the Israelites literally killed every man, woman and child in the promised land. If it wasn't just strong language to make a point, then who would have been left to tell them not to mingle with and marry among?
"If someone says to you," there is nothing worth fighting for, and you have left whether by offence or disintrest before they say "that dosen't require a fight. And in the very next chapter of the text they speak of this thing worth fighting for: a mind can be in error when pieces of the puzzle are left out and critical information verses and lines of context skipped. Proverbs 16:6 "By mercy and truth iniquity(:Lawlessness the desire to have no law or rule of God) is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil." Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Proverbs 30:26 "the conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;" Psalms 89:26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. John 6:48 "I am that bread of life." John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.'" 1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." Ezekiel 47 speaks of a river that flows out of the throne of God where ankle-deep water goes to knee-deep, then waist-deep, all the way to the point that you couldn't get across. Most who fly themselves under the banner of Christian wallow around in an ankle-deep relationship with the lord, some just grace their toes across the water every now and again. Seek love with the creator, love him with all your remembering and imagining, for love does many things two of which is always believes and hopes. Go deep, see. Hebrews 11: 1 and 6. Hold onto him with all your heart. Pray for wisdom, pray without ceasing: don't go a day without it. Read the KJV
so many people dont consider or just completely ignore the actual context things were said in and just assume you can take any passage out of the bible and take it as is and apply it broadly.
How can anything physical happen in hell when we leave our bodies? Your soul is pure and belongs to the universe. If im child of God doesnt he love me?? Why would my Father turn his back for sin??
Sheol and Hades (the place) are the same thing. It was believed that the souls of the dead would be kept there. It is a physical place here on Earth. It is a large interconnected cave system that you can find entrances to via places like the one talked about in this video. Some of the connections no longer exist due to earthquakes. Many stories involve people talking about and visiting that system.
I agree with what you said. Very well explained. However, I was expecting you to address the idea of 'weeping and gnashing of teeth' in relation to hell. Who's weeping and gnashing teeth? What did that mean to the ancient audience? Have we totally misunderstood that too?
Maybe it's time for the Church to finally admit that the word "Hell" should never have been used in the Bible. Had the words Sheol, Hades, Gehenna and tartaroo been left as is, or at best been rendered as what they literally and directly translate into, our doctrine would be a whole lot less confusing.
Very interesting. What are the sources of your historical references that explain the background or context of the words you explained? Do you have favorite resources that uncover the historical cultural background?

3:21 this is to say, where one sees themselves as whole whereas they see others as lacking or deficient, wherein reality is that perceived wholeness is something extra that causes one to sin. We don’t see that, we think our sinfulness is part of our wholeness. Why else are we being asked to amputate what seems like o be our body?
What they won’t tell you is….It’s all in your head. You alone put yourself through “ hell”. ….God does not” send you there…you put yourself there. You are teaching using pagan words, and king james translation not a very good translation. May you be blessed by the Ruah, to teach correctly.
Very interesting Brandon. Quite a while ago I came to the conclusion that Hell as it has been preached from Christian pulpits for many years is not the one found in the Bible. The standard narrative of Hell as a place of eternal torment with grinning demons torturing imperfect Christians and millions of others, all presided over by Satan on his throne . . . is absurd.
The best strategy is to ask the Lord God for wisdom and understanding before, during and after studying.
I think the passage in Isaiah can refer to satan as well as the King. Many passages in this book refer to events in the past present and future.
I agree. Much of Isaiah had/has multiple meanings and seemingly intentionally.
It's primarily talking about the King of Tyre, but as Paul says our battle is not against the flesh and rulers, powers and principalities of the spiritual world. So God could be looking past the king and also talking to the Satan and his angels who helped bring about his destruction as well as their own.
@@perfectpeace00 exactly
Isaiah 14 does refer to both the King and to Lucifer or Satan, as does Ezekiel 28. You can take only the literal meaning but you will miss much.
It is purposeful. Especially now as the cabal is falling apart and Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is awakening people.
Exactly. It's super important for Christian theology to know that Christ descended to the dark depths of Hades. And was teaching for our salvation for 3 days. Most protestant denominations don't realise this
@@keylanoslokj1806what?
Ephesians 4:7 But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Therefore He says:
“When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
and gave gifts to men.”
9 (In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

We have already been warned of all of this self-created, clever ideas we think we’re so smart to have:
Galatians 1:8-12 NKJV
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
Catholicism is an Anti-christ. Why is it that only "the Vatican" can dispel daemons? Because they are bringing them into HERE. They are the puppet masters.
You're already IN Hell . That's why everything is fucking upside down
It's almost like they JUST MADE IT UP!
Most of the modern ideas about Hell come from Dante, not the Church.

Once again... learning something new! The location and reason for that discussion about Hades! So.. so.. good. Thank you!
You do an excellent job explaining this subject. Thank you for the video.
As always Brandon, I love your teachings. Your understanding of Hebrew helps me so much.
I'm very thankful to your videos. I'm reading the Bible for the first time. Thank you
Okay, so explain this .
So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
Luke 16:22-24 NIV
Hell is very real, and very much why Jesus died.
And God wouldn't be very loving to send his son To die a horrible death if he wasn't doing it to save is from something that was horrible.
@@ehdforlife God sent his only begotten son so that who ever shall believe in him will have eternal life. Is that not directly in the bible?
Appreciate this video and I pray many will begin to (re)search scripture properly for answers. Bless you!

I teach bible studies often. You give so many ideas that lead to study points that we can then dig into, with word and culture studies. Your ministry has really helped. Thank you so much.
the fact that you said this should show you that what you are then teaching is false.
BASICALLY
You came to you tube
You got some ideas off him
YOU ARE NOW GOING TO GO BACK TO BIBLE STUDIES AND TEACH THIS TO OTHERS
Your bible studies Literally come FROM YOU TUBE
But then when someone tells you religion is false
or the bible is not god's word YOU DON'T BELIEVE IT
I wonder why !
and when we argue that the bible has been altered and changed
christians affirm solidly NO IT HASN'T
well.. Yes it has...
You are going to do it
He has already done it
tens of thousands have done it before you
Everyone thinks their version is right, although it's not
When will you guys understand common sense
Be a christian , that's fine
Love god, That's fine
But when will you come to understand the following
1. You do not get ideas from you tube as to what to do for your eternity
(that's really really dumb)
2. The bible is clearly not god's word, this has been known now for a very long time, it's easy to prove and should more or less be common sense, since i have heart a few thousand christians admit it anyway.
but the biggest point is... to follow the bible (A word that is not god's own) IS TO LITERALLY COMMIT A MORTAL SIN AGAINST GOD
so you really have to wonder what the hell are christians doing
They don't listen to atheist's
They don't listen to christians
They don't listen to christ
They don't listen to god
what they DO do is
They listen to themselves
and whatever they want to believe
Maybe also take that on board for your bible study
Maybe discuss the concept of...
1. LET'S ESTABLISH AND RESEARCH IF THE BIBLE'S WE ARE READING ARE GOD'S ACTUAL WORDS
2. IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE A CHRISTIAN WITHOUT THE CHURCH OR THE BIBLE.
Spoiler Alert............. it Absolutely is
3. If we were to do this, would it be a purer form of christianity
spoiler... YES IT WOULD
4. IF we did this would be violating god's laws or christ's teachings
Spoiler... NO YOU WOULDN'T

Can you teach me what is the meaning of heaven & hell today in America 🇺🇸 in the 21st century??? 😐
@@rodney5158
"THE MEANING" ??? of heaven and hell ?
that's like saying "Can you teach me the meaning of a truck? "
Problem 1 - You're not asking the right question, what are you trying to find out ?
Problem 2 - No one can accurately answer questions relating to heaven or hell as no one has been there and lived to tell and come back .
YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT
What do you want to know
is Heaven and Hell Real ?
NO THEY ARE NOT
What is their purpose ?
If your'e good you go to heaven
if you're bad you go to hell
Beyond that, what are you looking for to have answered ?
as for they are not real
YOU WANT PROOF ? OK
See the thing is, YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE FUCK YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT IN THE FIRST PLACE
so... When you say "HEAVEN" it means the place that is mentioned in the bible
and when you say "HELL" it means the same except the lower place
SO.. HERE IS A FACT or... a few facts
THE BIBLE IS NOT THE WORD OF GOD
Absolute Fact, Very easy to prove and you can prove it yourself
So... As such, it's not even worth discussing.
but i will say this
THE PLACES MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE............... Are not real
Because its' a made up story from primitive people
Now let's not dwell on this too far.. Let's just understand the bible hasn't got a fucking clue about heaven or hell
LET'S NOW ASK A MORE INTELLIGENT QUESTION INSTEAD OF FUCKING AROUND WITH THE BIBLE
"So Martin, DOES A PLACE exist that if you are good you go to and if you are bad you go to"
OK....
First ask, who sends you there
that would be GOD, right ?
ask if he exists
Answer : WE DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW
but we do know this....
THE GOD THAT IS PORTRAYED IN THE BIBLE, (if a god exists) he is not the god that is portrayed in the bible
as such, if a type of Heaven or hell does exist
IT'S NOT WHAT YOU READ ABOUT IN THE BIBLE
what is it's purpose
well... just like society
You live in society, if you can't function in society YOU ARE SEGREGATED, it's called PRISON
if you can't live in prison YOU ARE SEGREGATED
it's called ISOLATION
if you can't live in isolation... YOU DIE IN THERE
so... If you can't live in the good place
You are segregrated to the bad place
and i imagine if you can't live in the bad place
there is a worse place
it's purpose would be SEGREGATION
it's meaning ? it doesn't have a meaning
SIMPLY PUT
God, Jesus, Heaven and Hell if they exist (well, Jesus did actually) but as for the rest of them should they exist
THEY VERY LIKELY ARE NOT GOING TO BE THE SHIT THAT YOU READ ABOUT IN THE BIBLE
but... Sure, they could exist
Although i doubt that Fire would have anything to do with the equation.
Again, it was written by primitive people who's idea of the worse possible scenario was.... TO BURN FOREVER
they were not smart enough to figure out that a soul can't burn
and when the idea was put forward to them
they had the kindergarten level answer of
OHH WELL, IT'S A FIRE THAT BURNS SOULS
LOL
Right , Ok
Even the bible is cryptic and it could lead to important discoverys
Take dantes inferno for example. Its written by an italian out of anger for the churches corruption so he made the story up that turned famous. Look it up, or go watch the history of dantes inferno.
ughhh i've been saying this for so long. i was fortunate enough to ask God for understanding as a young boy and i've been able to extract things from the word through reading, now i have returned to this journey of extracting the real meaning but i always was troubled by the teachings of hell and what i read about hell in the bible. ultimately i came to the same conclusions as you're teaching here and it is SO REFRESHING to have someone put this out there bc it IS what the Bible says.
Could you tell me what you concluded?
@@RhondaWalker-i4lI believe what this post I saying, and I agree, is a deep dive/prayerful study is what leads you to the understand: not someone telling you what they have concluded.

See my post, just above.... Eternal hell fire is a confused and FALSE DOCTRINE.
One of Satan's biggest and most effective.
How many countless numbers of people have been kept from hearing the gospel, because of 'the threat of hell fire'.
WOW
For us (mortal humans), there is no eternal hell fire.
(read in Revelation)
For those who are saved, they are resurrected, changed, transformed, INCORRUPTIBLE (eternal).
As the angels, who do not die.
The SECOND DEATH holds no power over them.
Thus they can be with the Lord, forever.

I completely agree. The "everything that you think you know is wrong" is pretty common nowadays. It's a short cut to self esteem and followers. It's also very disrespectful to those who have come before. It's like saying: "Everyone has been a moron..... until I came onto the scene." Fantastic video. Thanks Brandon.
❤awesome video and great explanations for why there is hades, gehenna and shoel, but not hell as we know it.

Are you saying there is a hell, but it’s not as bad as what people believe? Or maybe you’re saying it’s bad, but it’s only temporary? You said there are misunderstandings, but you didn’t clarify the actual misunderstandings themselves - only to say these verses aren’t really about hell.
Agree
Great understandings!! And i have 2 more for you.. snakes cannot talk, horses cannot fly...
It is now considered fact that 666 refered to Nero.
@@visaman No bible scholar would ever consider that to be "fact".

What about the story of Lazarus and the Rich man told by Jesus? The rich man was in a place of torment within Sheol while Lazarus was in paradise.
That was a parable, filled with symbolism, not an actual incident that happened.
@@cellslaveThat wasn't a parable because He used the actual Names of people. Also, He told the thief who believed in Him that they would be in Paradise.
@RodneyRobbins
Good point, but His Name isn't Jesus. It's YAHshua which means: YAH is Salvation.
@@Michael0841 That was a parable, which Christ told along with several other parables. In this parable the rich man asked for Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in the water to cool his tongue. Do you think those in Heaven and hell will be able to see each other? Be able to speak with each other? Do you think the rich man would choose Abraham to speak to, instead of the Father or the Son? Do you think a person consumed in actual hellfire would be able to calmly speak at all? Instead of constantly screaming? Do you think a drop of water would cool ANYTHING consumed in actual hellfire? C'mon man....
@@Michael0841NOWHERE in the Bible does it say that if Jesus uses a name it's not a parable. That's just something preachers made up out of whole cloth to justify the absurdity of believing it's a factual depiction of the afterlife.
UNLESS you REALLY want to believe that there are MILLIONS of people all piled up on Abraham's bosom AND that we can hear the screams of people in hell while enjoying paradise.
You also have to believe someone burning in agony would ask for just a drop of water instead of a whole pitcher or just ask to get taken out of there in the first place.
You can't take something that's obviously an allegory and refute all the verses that plainly state the fate of the wicked is death, destruction, consumption, perishing and being no more etc in the lake of fire, which by the way doesn't happen until the final judgment which is after the millennial reign.
The parable which was told to the pharisees who were rich with the word of God, but did not share it with the gentiles, those outside of the gate. The gentiles would end up receiving the gospel after the Jews rejected it, being grafted into the tree of life and the line of Abraham while the Jews who rejected Jesus would be cut off.
Nice one. I was worried that it may be the usual misinfo about hell (which you kinda point out is a word not existing in scripture anyway). But you brightened my day with what I discovered for myself decades ago, but for which Calvinists in particular tell me will get me sent to hell. Oh boy. Nothing like refusing to accept good scholarly research.
As if accepting the Biblical evidence as opposed to Christian teaching on the subject of Hell will actually get you sent to Hell. That is so dumb; what else can I say? It kind of reminds me of thinking from the middle ages. I thought this video was really good also.
This makes much more sense when the apostles niacean creed says he descended into hell. He went to where all dead go. Hmmm.
And how shall they learn without a teacher? Thank you for your teachings! I always learn something! I’ve believed for a long time that without the Hebrew perspective, we are not getting what we need completely from our study, and I also believe that the Jew would become so much better acquainted with Elohim if they were to learn some of our prospective in Christianity.
@@jimo3173 Dear Jim
Thanks for your response.
Thank you Brandon
Imagine being in your 60s and finding out you have been taught incorrectly since you were a kid.
Can you share what you learned specifically? I’ve listened twice and still not getting it.
I have had this happen far to many times in Christianity,
@humblewatchman1673 This is a different example.
Refreshing to find a theologian who pays attention to BOTH, context & the details of word origins.
We will all be awakened to righteous justice/judgement. Where are we when we are awakened? In purgatory or the grave? “…The dead know nothing…”

Excellent video.
Thank you for the later part of the video regarding the king of Babylon. I'm on track now. 😅✝️🙏❤️😊🙌

Hell is just lack of tolerance for God's goodness and mercy... .
But the unrighteous live without God now so it won't be a punishment to them.
Why should they repent then?

Matthew 5:22 in my Bible says this

Which is totally different from the translation in Brandons video so which one is right??
No such thing as a literal hell. Hell is the mind/ego
That completely repudiates the sacrifice of Christ.

How can anything physical happen in hell when we leave our bodies? Your soul is pure and belongs to the universe. If im child of God doesnt he love me?? Why would my Father turn his back for sin??
You may have a reference error here. The scripture you quote from Mark 16:17-18 is actual in Matthew.
Sheol and Hades (the place) are the same thing. It was believed that the souls of the dead would be kept there. It is a physical place here on Earth.
