    (1) Connection between wheels & Ac traction motor?
    (2) How engine runs some distance after breaks apply, how wheels rotate after traction motor is off?

I noticed on the Metra Electric District line in the Chicago south suburbs on the overhead wire the point is called an Air-Gap in switching over to other tracks, and sometimes on the mainline wires going straight. The pantograph does have electric arcs when passing by. From the little signs connected to the overhead wires above.

    1:00 Hello,
I have a question about the separator. It seems to me that for a certain moment the train is powered from 2 sides, from the side it is leaving from and from the side it is towering on, because the pantograph touches the wires at 3 points, am I right? If this is indeed the case, how is the train protected from 2 sources of energy?
    Best regards

great Video. Hats off. I would like to make a small correction. Speed restriction is not 70 kmph. Its 80 kmph and 120kmph depending on the direction of traffic and the position within the span it is connected. If it is between on third and one tenth of span and if the direction of traffic is in such a way that crossbeam part touches panto before runners, then speed is restricted to 120kmph. rest all cases its 80kmph.

I'm honestly amazed how bad those section insulators are, given that in germany those things can bidirectionally be traversed with up to 130 km/h (During my training as a train driver this figure was officially 160 km/h, but couldn't find some on the internet) and I even found some on the internet rated for bidirectional travel with speeds up to 250 km/h.

it the bott did not say why it was needed , but pentagram WOULD short both sections at some point as it traverses thought the iedea was not to so must have some gap/space offset as it transfers , trivial but important . HATE BOT VOICE

It is clear that he is Indian. He omits, in the text, certain words, like "be" and certain prepositions, that would be omitted by a native Hindi speaker but would never be omitted by a native English speaker.
