Literally am here because my birth mom had me and let me be adopted by my parents who could not conceive themselves after years of trying. She used her agency and choice to make a decision that helped both of us and I am forever grateful for her. We as humans have agency to choose, and our choice is ours to decide for ourselves how to act. I do not see abortion as a form of contraceptive and I do believe life begins when the egg and sperm join. Others do not and that’s what makes us human. This is a major life decision that needs to be realized that it may affect them more than they may think. I couldn’t perform an abortion myself, but talking and helping them any way I can to talk to as many people with different opinions for them to have the best resources to make their decision.

I noticed on the AAMC website that questions about your political affiliation, or your opinion on abortion/euthanasia are "inappropriate questions" and that "you have the responsibility to report" the incident. Should you still answer the question?

    • @daveyjones3016

      Allie Burton good question

Allie Burton, I think you should answer, but then report

I don’t think the question is inappropriate… if we can’t discuss these topics it is a much bigger problem. Do not report your interviewer for this.

@@Thatguy-mo8jdan interview is not a discussion. People have discussions about this every day but an interview where your future career could possibly depend on your answer makes it a very inappropriate question

"I'm anti-slavery. My family and beliefs have led me to be an abolitionist. But I also have empathy for the other side." I'm happy that you are kind enough to share the "right" answers, and I'm happy to feed them bullshit, but this is bullshit at the end of the day.

Medical residents have confided to me that their medical education gave then the capacity to act like a sociopath if needed.

Medical residents told a random patient that they were thought to act like sociopaths, yea ok lol totally believable. He never replied so that tells you that much.

just walk into the interview with a maga hat already! also, academia "even in the south" seems more left leaning.
