I use a lot of animals in my place for whimsy. At an antique shop I bought a ceramic pig, lying on his back and he looks so comical. He is from Germany. I use him as a doorstop and I smile every time I see him. He is so goofy and adorable at the same time!
I took a wardrobe, removed the drawers inside it, and the back off it, attached it to the wall in front of my library, added faux fur coats and you have to go thru the Narnia wardrobe to go into my library.
I literally gasped when I read your comment! This is the most amazing thing. Do you just let people discover it or do you tell them!? I have to know everything.
@@HouseMixBlog I have told a few, but most do not know it’s there, the fireplace in the library also has secret compartments I made under the mantle and around the fireplace. I also have books that are secret hiding places on the shelf mixed with the other books.and a globe that opens to a hiding place.did I tell you the wardrobe is 8 ft tall and I put lions head pull on key holes on the door.
Your home is beautiful and you can see/ feel the love! What a wonderful home to grow up in! I just found your channel and hit like and subscribe. Hope you have links for all the great wallpapers and murals. Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed day ❣️
We had a mouse hole in the kitchen of the old house I bought. At my son's suggestion, I bought a little decorative door and broom. They were gorilla glued over the hole. (The door can't open)
Hi so beautiful! May I ask what kind of paint do u use for the tile in the shower? I’ve been wanting to paint the tile in my bathroom, so bad but I don’t know what to use other than the stuff they have at Home Depot. That is very toxic and smells very bad so I was wondering what you used.
Thank you! There are different ways to paint tile, but I have been using Stix bonding primer + oil based enamel with pretty great results. I hate to say it smells pretty toxic too! 😬
Painted tile is not the same as factory-made tile and is a risk if you need it to hold up for more than three or four years. I painted tile in two of our bathrooms because we plan on remodeling in a few years and they’ve held up well. I have had to patch a couple scratches in our other shower and you really can’t tell. I have a detailed tutorial and 6-month critique here if that helps :) www.housemixblog.com/2020/03/05/how-to-paint-bathroom-tile-floor-shower-backsplash/

How does paint hold up on shower tile walls?? Would love to do this but if it chipped it would ruin it.
