Quick question I remember back in the 80s you could buy a bag of gems from the mines in Columbia for like a couple of hundred when did the price go up that high
That's sorta what happens, except it's boys digging in unstable mud, with basically no saftey equipment, training, support. The hole collapses, they move over and start digging a new hole, unless the first hole had been producing.
Seriously I wouldn’t even pay 5k for it you would have to give me $20 to take it off you no one wants emeralds let alone a shitty chuck of one trax is clowning himself making a video with this dude he’s nothing but a clown and don’t even know his prices 🤡🖕🏼🫵🏼😂
I have an emerald like that on my shelf that I bought from my gem and mineral show in Denver a decade ago. I paid a couple hundred bucks. It's all about how clear the stone is. If there's natural fractures, it is not able to be cut so therefore it's pretty cheap.
That’s actually a horrible piece of a gem you must not know what a nice gem in you got something in store buddy emeralds are dog shit compared to diamonds and rubies
The fact that jewels have been valued by humanity for as long as we can imagine and still being found mined etc kinda tells me that rarity might be a lie.
@@anonymousmc7727Kobe (Kobayashi) Bryant (his real name) crashed his helichopter into the side of a mountian bc he was busy beating his wife to death with a basketball in the passenger seat. True story bless up he took all two thousand of his kids with him in the back seats
Man this guy that you show is absolutely awesome. I love seeing these gems uncut and not set on jewelry. I hope someday I can run into being able to buy something so beautiful.
I had a massive piece of petrified wood that I swear would have made great gem quality cabochons and other cuts. I unfortunately had product to my geology class and it was never seen again. I'm hoping that they still have it somewhere hidden in storage and no one told anyone.
Love this channel no one is doing what you do; You offer information no one else is trying to do for in my opinion they are possibly stingy greedy individuals?!! Please keep doing what you do!
It may be worth "more" uncut, some people. However theres not a big enough market of rock and gem collectors, with that kind of money to spend on a natural rock alone. So it's not that they're really losing money cutting it and polishing pieces of it, it's just that they're going to end up with smaller sized pieces. An will then put those in marked up jewelery pieces.
We would trade kids MRE’s for green rocks back in the 90’s. They would pick them up off the roadside , overloaded dump trucks would drop them all day long. Not all great quality but it only took two really nice ones to make my wifes earrings!
I had a professor who studied in Africa for years. He told us a story of coming back to the states and running into a Hasidic Jew who casually showed him a small envelope in his coat pocket filled with uncut diamonds. Wild
People spend their whole lives looking for a matching set of emeralds in Columbia. The price skyrockets with a pair that's matching cut color and size.
Trax, give me job brother. Will fly from Dubai this week if you offer me one to learn, you the only guy on social media that I actually enjoy watching and want to learn m brother!
Specimen collectors are the reason why colored gemstone prices are so high. It’s a race to the top for the best piece and clarity is a big factor, except every lapidary and their brother are after the same stuff to cut up and throw in a setting.
Not gonna lie, I'd be more interested in it as is and in matrix than cut and polished. I have some uncut opal that I have as a display piece. The Earth makes some beautiful things.
Black diomond, and deep green blue diomond, please show me rings with these diomonds ❤i mad about them.this is my desire to buy .maybe one day i will be able
Natural emerald is very fragile and brittle due to its structure. So lab emerald are made for jewelry and natural ones or left in its natural state. Too add synthetic emeralds color can be altered in the lab with heat and cut into any shape.
It would be _SICK_ if you built a necklace around it and made it the main focus in the center. 🤔 That way you wouldn't have to cut it and you can still wear it.

Went to Columbia in October and the emeralds are beautiful. Just be careful where you shop for gold and emeralds if you go there
th-cam.com/users/shortsGERCQb_CMRU
I remember when I turned 10 years old, I went to a Emerald Mine in Cartagena, it was amazing. They had some absolutely giant emeralds for show too
The reason why it’s worth more uncut is the crafting xp you get from cutting
I hope no one is goofy enough to pay that price 😂
