i have a big crush on a girl from work, like i really really like her, but she's aroace and i thought i had no chance at all of being with her in any way, but this gave me a little bit of hope
It is possible. I’m an aeroace and I’ve experienced it once. It was weird, cuz I didn’t understand what was happening. And that caused me to have a lot of stress and maybe even depressed for a while. I was just completely shocked, confused for what was happening. This might sound dramatic, but that’s what happened to me.
I am wondering if I am a greyromantic. It could also be I just have a super romantic partner and she wants me to be more romantic than I am. I do enjoy dates in the sense it's spending time with a partner. It's not a huge need to be romantic. There are times I just want sex. It's something I am looking into. I still use "girlfriend" only for the short cut but I view relationship is the best term.
meanwhile i personally don't even fucking know anymore.. i've been calling myself ace-aro ace-demiromantic ace-greyromantic.. since i just don't know.. now the reason for this is the fact that i do not want anything with another human. however i'd be fine with it if they are not human but still human like if that makes any sense at all.. (it's wierd i know) basically i am completely repulsed by other humans. however whenever i see an alien that is my type in tv or movies i'm just like i'd tap that
I think I feel unconditional love, but rarely romantic love? Much less than others, just 2 times in my life and I'm in my 30s.....I'm not aromantic, but just very very little romantic. Even the one "romantic" relationship was about to end in a form of unconditional love...

I can relate to this so much! And people telling me things like "I'm sorry about that" or "oh, so you'll just be alone forever?" and s*it like "Oh, so you're one of those people who can't love." just makes it worse
@@allensreality3268 I often question if I like my partner bc I sort of go back n forth of wanting a relationship and feeling sort of tied in a way that feels not freeing. I've noticed I get this feeling anytime I date no matter who the person is or how well we go together and I'm not sure if those are commitment issues coming in or if I'm just experiencing being aro. I do think I'm on the spectrum but idk I'm not entirely sure if I am. Romance to me is more entertainment. Id rather watch or read about someone else's fantasies or watch it but I don't want to experience it myself. Which is a wild 360 from when I was a child and felt obsessed almost with having a partner. 😭 Please give your opinion or advice if you want to I'm open to it all
@@vickyj8584 after these 6 months I can understand where you’re coming from lol, I have no clue but you could be Cupioromantic (a person who’s aromantic but wants a relationship/aka the sexuality I found out I relate to the most). Advice I can try to give you is that I did was 1: try to date people you trust rather than dating someone just cause lol 2: if/once in a relationship, try and figure out what makes you comfortable and uncomfortable (for me, kissing was uncomfortable while holding hands were comfortable) 3: try not to get so bummed cause of the lack of romantic attraction towards your partner The last one is important, I always felt upset by the fact I couldn’t feel the love my boyfriend had for me and almost ended the relationship cause of that sadness. If your partner is OK with you being aro and doesn’t see a problem then there’s no need to feel upset and stressed over :]. I’m tired so I hope this sorta made sense lol, I wish you the best of luck!

But let me put it in a way I explained to my boyfriend, he was always confused about me being aro/ace and always wondered why I’m dating him, the response I gave him? I told him “I love you, I want to be with you, I just don’t feel it” if that makes sense? I still like the idea of a relationship but I don’t need it either, another thing, from my personal perspective I still use the words “I love you” even though I don’t feel attraction but I don’t know if any other aro/ace people in a relationship do it knowing some of them will most likely to be in a platonic relationship.

I’d like to know this too cuz as much as I like the idea of having someone to come to at the end of the day to cuddle and play video games and stuff with, I’m grossed out by all the stuff that’s sort of expected with romance (flirting, pet names, etc.)

Hey. Yes, you can. I don't perceive these sorts of things as romantic for me. Some aros are aegoromantic (like aegosexual but the romantic version) or bellusromantic
