- I've been meaning to do a video like this for ages, but as usual left it right till the last minute. Apologies it's not the most well edited video, but here is some tips for packing carry on bags for a long haul or short haul flight with children... I normally pack less for short haul, but this hopefully will give you some ideas. :)

I love this video my 15 year old brother (I'm 12) acts like he is 7 so I like to watch these videos just because he's like a kid😂😂. This video is so helpful and I love the idea of plane bags. Might try this with my brother!😂😂❤️😘❤️😘
Maddie Long same my brother is 11 and I am 10 and I pack snacks and little coloring box’s because he doesn’t do it and gets hungry and he can’t even put on his own sunscreen (he’s not special needs he just doesn’t do things by himself) 😂😂😂
@Nouran Ahmed I’m going on a trip next month and I going with my grandparents and I’m really excited so I’m just watching these vids and I’m just looking for some other things for my carry on!💜✨

Thanks Robyn yes definitely. I do pack less for short haul flights and I probably over pack but they see it as a real adventure having them. x
Even tho I’m a kid when I’m older I’m going to pack:
Crisps/chips
Cookies
Colouring book and pens
Juice box
Waterbottle
We have done similar on long haul flights. Tiger activity sets are great. And agree that trunkies are really difficult to open on the plane! Do you keep anything back for the return flight? I sometimes keep a few things in my suitcase to add in to theirs for the flight home, just to mix things up a bit and hopefully decrease chances of premature boredom! 😉

Absolutely brilliant & useful. Great tips, we're going on a long boat & car trip again this year. Kids are older 4 & nearly 2... I'm going to start shopping
EIMEAR SHERIDAN you can do it really cheaply if you shop in advance, I just buy things as I go and put them away when I see them. Xx

Mine 7 & 2 are both obsessed with washi tape! We live abroad so travel quite a bit and agree it is never as bad as you think (well maybe sometimes! But that is mostly small baby and bodily function related) and those usborne cards are amazing, we have monster doodle which we still use three years on. I would also recommend plus plus, tiny Lego like blocks that look like they would be a nightmare on a flight but have saved our skin on many trips and also in restaurants.

Wow! That's a great idea to let the girls see their luggage only on the plane! And it's cool you bought them fun and inexpensive things.
We are going on a family holiday to Cabo San Lucas at the end of the month, I'm wondering if my youngest who is 2 1/2 needs a plane bag now? Hmmm...
We do soft back packs so the girls can easily shove them under the seats in front of them. Love those cute suitcases though😍

Wow a lot of hand luggage I just put colouring book and pencils and ipad in my handbag and that's it and he loves just that
This was one for a long haul one, I wouldn't pack as much short haul. Three kids and a small plane means probably going overboard on hand luggage haha but I get nervous! ;) I agree if you give mine stickers and a colouring book they would be happy for hours! Or the iPad. xx

Love the plane bag idea and the blankets from Emirates are super cute
They keep them really amused, we will also pack things like PJ's and cuddly toys if it is a night flight but those bags have kept them entertained on long flights before. x

I love these tips I always try to be organised and pack my son and daughter some surprises in their hand luggage as i think it is nice for them to have things to keep them entertained. x
I think it just helps keep them entertained doesn't it? We normally just go to the bargain shows like The Works or Primark or Tiger and pick up a few things, I don't normally get Smiggle but that was on offer. It's nice to help make the holiday start off exciting for them too. x

Katie Ellison my mother in law had wrapped small presents for all four of them. She gave them a new one every hour of the flight. It felt like pass the parcel. They had play doh in one, sweets in another, colouring books etc. It was a really sweet idea and kept them occupied the whole flight x

These aren’t carry ons these are they’re personal bag. A carry on goes below the plane. A personal bag you keep in the overhead storage or under the seat in front of you

This is a rlly good idea but the only thing is that the way you say smiggle annoys me. You say “shmiggle” but it’s just your accent lol.

1 Plus 1 is Three Normally with iPads set to flight mode or if all else fails then snacks 😂
Try playing I spy or iPads or read a book
iv got something similar to the book of creating faces they are paper dolls from tiger with sticker clothes and all the same facial stickers

One thing i would do in advance is take things that i can out of packaging causenits a hassle for no reason and more mess

The stuff from smiggle those were soccer balls not football
In the UK we call it football, as does the entire world except the US of A.
Canada says soccer ball too

Why is the one on the left all blue and boyish if you have two girls and you would back different stuff for the boy like a dipper bag instead of a suit case because he is smaller
Are the cases easy to get down from the overhead and get the kids bits out of mid-flight? We've always gone for back packs but I like the looks of these. Do you let them keep the bags under the seat in front of them or take something out and put it back in overhead? Do you find there's enough room to open them? We tried a trunky before and it was a nightmare!!
pinkynbaby yes I really couldn't get on with a Trunki either which is weird cause other people love them. I keep them up in the overhead until the seatbelt sign is off and then there's enough room for them to be either on their laps or in front of them x
