Dragon City Beginner's Guide & Returning Player Guide 2023 - Tips & Advice

- Hi there! So it's 2023 now and Dragon City is still getting frequent updates, new events and new dragons! I thought it was time to make a full beginner friendly and returning player guide for this game now that I've been playing again for the last 7 months.
There are a few things I didn't mention here (mainly joker orbs, happy hours and special events) that I feel would be more suitable in a more advanced guide, but always feel free to join my Discord server for any tips regarding any in-game features in the meantime!

I just downloaded the game and bred water+fire dragons, but i got 15 hours breeding time. Is it normal?
@@kaykocook4368 It looks like you bred the very rare dragon, Power. There's a chance of breeding it when breeding flame + sea together but it's a rarer breed. The game typically has relatively long breeding times because there are 3 breeding dens and the gem cost to skip breeding and hatching is relatively cheap (although you don't want to be skipping most of these as that would be a waste)

Did you know: I wasn’t online for dragon city for about 2 months, and I was level 6. When I came back, I was instantly greeted with tons on gifts. Somehow, I got two legendary dragons!

I've been a player for 6 years, but am a returning player after about 2 years, so very helpful!
Just came back after 8 years of not playing (my childhood game lol), and now im overwhelmed by a lot of stuffs because of how elements work differently now and the dragon rarities are new to me since back in the day, i remember that there are only legend and pure dragons and they were the strongest dragons back then. Also i think my account is glitched because i have some level 25 dragons which are my favourite dragon (Nirobi and Legendary), but i couldn't level up my other dragons past level 15 because i need to upgrade dragon roost first. Although, this video will help me for sure so thank you.
Just get some more dragons levelled up and then you can upgrade roost

Legendary and heroic tiers are just common but looks cooler and higher stats because you get them like literally candies
I remember loving this game back in like 2013-2015 and I haven’t played in a while I tried to come back to it but the screen is so cluttered it makes it hard to see anything and the pop ups are just crazy bad
it's quite a lot to take in to begin with but it's pretty simple overall

thank you so much for this guide im a little lost and confuse about the game right now because im a returning player I stop playing since 2018 now im back cause im bored playing other games right now lol
it takes a couple of weeks to get back into the swing of things and understand the different VIP skills etc but after that it should be pretty straightforward
I can't thank you enough, i was looking for a source that tells me when to stop levelling up, cuz im near breeding sanctuary and im farming quest battles for ranking up cosmic denotation which if it wasn't for your video about it i wouldn't have ever gotten it.

Hi, thank you for making this informative video. I came to watch this video because I'm trying to understand the Dragon Tv ads thing. On my game, I don't have a section for a gems chest to fill and I don't have a section for tasks to complete to earn gems. Is there a reason your Dragon Tv is different from mine? I'm level 26 currently and my TV hasn't changed so I was wondering if the gems chest and task offers were level locked. Is this the case? I can't seem to find the answer to this problem when I Google it. If you can help me that would be awesome!
You have to log in for 21 days straight first and then the full version of dragontv will unlock
Interesting video. Sad that I found it the day I decided to stop playing Dragon City entirely. I might be in the minority here, but I don't like the new designs for the older dragons. I'm not talking about different skins you can use for them, I'm talking about the old designs being scrapped completely and replaced with new ones. These new designs also lack the fun, individual animations that each of the older dragons had at one point, the things they started doing away with in favor of more boring animations that just have the dragon sort of try to show off. I had Deus' Pet Dragon, which had some funny animations. Those are now gone and replaced with the same lame animation of him trying to look cool. It just feels like they stole my dragons and replaced them with cheap copies. Makes me wonder what would happen if other companies tried to redesign their older creatures and scrap the original, like it never existed. I bet there'd be an uproar if the Pokemon Company did that with, say, Charizard. Just turn him into a goofy-looking flaming lizard with webbed wings! He'd fit in better with the newer designs that way! Wouldn't go over well. It's even worse if you spent money on the dragon and they decided to change the one you paid for. I say we should all stop playing until they fix this! They don't all need to match the new art style. When something's already been released in the game, it shouldn't change its look just because the game makers feel like it. It's one thing if they want to add these new designs as possible skins, but a complete design change just feels like it's a different dragon.
Unfortunately, lots of people never try dragon city to this day because some of the older dragons look "super bad" or "too old" so the reason for them doing this is likely to combat those sorts of comments from players who otherwise would try the game. I know that doesn't help you, because you grew fond of the old designs and animations, however they wouldn't have wasted the time re-designing them unless there was a reason.
I tried to do exactly as the instruction but somehow, it didn't work on a PC. Please give me some advice about how to get the gems!
You should maybe make an updated version of these guides a lot has changed. Vampires aren't as easy to summon anymore, the speed update, mythical update etc.
Aside from cosmic and deluge I genuinely don't know what else to recommend to a new f2p player, the vampire cost update sucks

Hi there! I have the problem that my dragon tv is completely locked and I also don't have these normal ads to skip some time. Do I need to reach a certain level to unlock dragon tv or something like that?

You need to log in for 21 days in a row to unlock full dragon tv. If you want to be doubly sure however you can always send through a request to socialpoint's support team
Stopped playing a few years ago (maybe 2019) cuz I had to play 60 ads to even get close to getting a legendary or heroic dragon. Now it's another year again, can u say it changed for the better or worse?

I want to ask from Indonesia, I used to play this game from 2014 to 2017... but why did I log in with my Facebook account and the Dragon City account returned to the initial level or level 1?
I am having problems with hatching eggs somehow? I keep on clicking the "hatch" button but it does not work. I have exactly 100 Dragons so I'm wondering if Dragon City have a limit on the number of dragons you can have in a certain point?

I started playing this game in 2019 and was only level 24... I lost my account probably 4 months after & just never got back on. Now it's 2023 I just downloaded it 2 hours ago and have more progress done then on my old account already level 14 I got hello money & food + dragons.... This game is ezz now💀

They changed it. Now, you remove perks without selling or deleting your dragons.
Been playing the game for like 4 years once I got heroic dragons empowered to 1 stars I couldn't progress its really hard to play the game since it P2W you really need to grind this game for progress 😢
I've been playing for 10 months and I almost have an e5 heroic full f2p, so I disagree
What does e5 mean?
I meant after reaching a certain point in game it gets hard to progress as you need to put more time into the game to progress like around the time when you have atleast 3-4 heroics level 45 and a bunch of legendary dragons who are lvl 30+, a lot more food is needed so what I was trying to say is when you reach that mark it's pretty hard to progress.
Also, I haven't been playing the game repeatedly I've been on and off taking 1-2 months break and coming so mb if I said I play for 4 years what I meant to say was my account is 4 years old
@@diserge1890 e5 means evolution 5 which means it’s been upgraded 5 times and it’s a 5 star dragon
My dragon TV isn't working but I'm not sure if it's because I'm on level 21 or any other reason, do you think yk why
The full dragon TV unlocks after you've logged in for 21 days, so you may just need to wait a little longer

Dragon city much more better than dml I have returned to DC one week ago and got 25 new dragons(most of them are legendaries) I spent much time to DML than DC but I got only 2 useless ancient and 2 divine dragons(one of them is apollo that was the easiest) so while the gameloft gains from the whales and makes his game more and more p2w I will play DC and spend money for divine pass that gives me much more rewards than any pass of DML

The game is very very different to how it used to be. I started playing in about 2010 and returned in 2017 and the game was nothing like it is today, outside of the base breedable dragons
