  • @zhnkbr
    @zhnkbr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

    Wow! I find it it really cool they someone all the way across Asia is listening to, analyzing, and even appreciating music that I grew up with.
    This song came out in the 2000s. I couldn't tell you what year because I was just a toddler back then but It's probably 2004-7. Probably 07 because you can hear Ac1d say, "Stoic Bliss 07".
    You know these guys weren't actually from Bangladesh! They were Bengalis, yes. But they were from New York City. These were guys that grew up obsessed with rap and hip hop, and everything about the OG rappers from the states. Most of Stoic Bliss's early work reflects that pretty much, I see you noticed that too with the old school Eminem flow that Ac1d had some where in there.
    This song was basically the introduction of Ac1d to the listeners.'Acid ke' can be roughly translated to a question, which would be 'Who's acid?'. Kazi and acid were really the main guys behind Stoic Bliss. There was this other guy, B1shop but afaik he bailed after they made their big hit. If you looks up Stoic bliss now, you'll find their instagram, the group still exists but its more of a rotting corpse of what they used to be. Acid is still there but he's no longer the little kid with the god given talent to spit bars that could, if paired with the right beat, put up a fight with the works of legends like snoop dog, jay z, dr.dre etc. Now the whole group is just a bunch of washed up brown boys that are trying to fit in with the modern trap rap culture i.e. tekashi 69, lil pump. And my god are they doing a hideous job at that too lol. I don't even blame them really. Back in the 90s and 2000s the coming up rout for the little guys was by selling records and mix tapes, because there was no way they could go on tour like big guys. And no one label woul sign them until they had sold enough on their own to show that they had talent. Today musicians make just a fraction of their fortunes from listens, they make money by going on tour and doing shows mainly. Stoic Bliss had their primary demographic be Bangladeshis and thats a very tough market to make money off of, especially in the 90s and early 2000s when they had just mastered computers. They never sold almost any records here because the guys would just buy 1 disc in USA or something, bring it back to bangladesh, buy a bunch of black cds jn bulk and then just copy the original to all the blanks and then sell them. Many music dudes sold 10s of millionaire of thosed total and made A LOT of money selling bootleg stoic bliss records basically and poor stoic bliss never saw a cent of that money. And they never really got all the recognition either, because people just knew the songs by the name because the guys that were reproducing those records back in bangladesh always did a halfassed job. A lot of people didn't even know stoic bliss but they knew their big hit, "abar jigay". In their second album they actually have a line about this in their song 'abar jigay 2'. They say, " Stoic Bliss chine na to chine Abar Jigay" which basically means 'they dont know stoic bliss but they know Abar Jigay' which oh my god at the time was like mind blowing. The lyrical genius of Ac1d in the early 2000s was absolutely unmatched. They literally set the stage for hiphop in bangladesh, but bangladesh failed them.

But we used to have good rappers and still have but they hardly release songs! So scene is down here but foundationally we are good u can say!
