Baltimore counting 14K ballots amid 3 close council races

Canvassing of roughly 14,000 ballots continued Monday as some 2024 primary contests have yet to be called in Baltimore City. Three Baltimore City Council primaries remain too close to call -- including the Democratic races for Districts 8, 11 and 12 -- because more than 8,000 mail-in ballots had yet to be tallied. While the counting continues, an apparent dispute has arisen over an error flagged by the audit process that changed some of the unofficial results. According to Maryland State Board of Elections data, about 26,000 mail-in ballots had already been counted in Baltimore City's Democratic Primary Election.
