If I only could pick one gin to drink for the rest of my life, it would be Beefeater. I love drinking other gins once in a while, but as you say, Bobby, this gin is like coming home to an old friend. I wouldn't change a thing about it, including the bottle design. It is a true masterpiece!

I'm new at gin and found your reviews spot on. Beefeater is one of my favourites now and has nothing to do with the fantastic price, keep up the great reviews thanks Bobby.
I use to be a Tanqueray Saphire girl then I was introduced to a amazing G&T in London. Beefeaters, Britvic tonic, a slice of lemon and lime in a gin glass rocks. OMG! Sold! Now I keep a bottle in my fridge and a few times a year I import Britvic or beg family and friends to send it to me in the states. I’ve tried many “upscale” gins but Beefeater is my favorite IF you have a good tonic. Otherwise in a mixed drink there’s a gin culture now in the states so it’s been fun discovering what gin can do.

Beefeater is definitely an old man's gin, and I'm definitely an old man. Never was one to order a gin and tonic, but I'm having one right now, with a brand-new bottle of Beefeater and a brand-new bottle of tonic. And it is delicious, although it depends much on the wedge of lime. Bobby, your idea for a video on tonic waters is excellent. And I agree with you on Fever Tree. But, absent that, the best I've found here in Kentucky is the Kroger store brand! Same for their Club Soda.
Just wanted to post this. I was at work when a idea popped up in my head for gin lovers like myself. Why not add ginger ale to your gin. I did it as soon as I got home. I must say it is spectacular. I used Beefeater of course recommend by the no nonsense gin guru. I put lots of ice in a travel Tumblr and two shots of gin, then simply fill it up with ginger ale that it. I love it. It's light and refreshing with a light ginger taste and obviously a fine botanical gin like Beefeater. I strongly recommend this simple cocktail to all the gin lovers out there. CHEERS !

Love your videos -Thank you for all the posts - My Aunt was a Gin drinker - lived to 97; drank it neat twice a day - couple ounces in the morning - few in evening in her special measured glass. My mum told me she would always comment to Not BRUISE THE GIN! So, I had just learned to make a perfect martini - Visited her in Mass (I lived in CA at the time) And I asked how do you take it? She said - what do you mean? You pour it in a glass and drink it! And that we did - neat - So She always drank Gilbey’s - bought in the large bottles by the CASE. I started to pour and she said - Oh no, no, no - you are company we will have the good stuff - She brought down a bottle of BEEFEATERS! Now I have bought a bottle of Beefeaters and Aviation to pit against Hendricks and Saphire thanks to you (And I am a single malt scotch guy) 😊 How much tonic you using - looks like you are pouring about 2 or three to one - still getting a gin taste with all that?
Thanks very much for your comment TJ. I really enjoyed reading about your grandmother and her gin drinking! I this video is quite old now and I used to drink it like that but I now have it about 1 to 1 👍

It is a difficult decision when I am at the grocery store. Will I buy Beefeater or Tanquray. I recently had a great idea for a delicious gin cocktail. I poured a double shot of my gin (Beefeater) lots of ice, and then I added My Dew Rise Tropical flavored energy drink. Only 4 grams of sugar and the equivalent of about 2 cups of coffee. It was delicious. Going to try the peach mango next time.
Hi Bobby I bought a Beefeater gin not so long ago, and I'm quite a bit of a rookie when it comes to tasting gin :D I'm not much of a fan of neat hard liquor(I can take a sip to taste it but I mostly taste the burning :D ) but what do you think is the best ratio for gin and tonic to get all the notes of the botanicals? Right now I'm using a 1:2 ratio with Kinely tonic water but I'm going to try Schweppes(Fever tree I'll give it a go but it's just to expensive in my opinion) to see the difference.
Hey Marcus, This is the golden question and one I’ve been asked a lot and there’s not really a definitive answer unfortunately as it is all down to individual preference. Here’s what I think though, for what it’s worth. Personally, I’m with you and I’m not a big a fan of neat gin. I have learnt to appreciate it more now and it can be useful sometimes to taste but I always enjoy it more with tonic. When I first started drinking gin I used to have it quite weak, about 1:6 but now my taste has changed considerably and I usually have it about 1:3. I know lots of my subscribers have it 1:1 as well as neat but I personally feel that I get the most out of the gin at 1:3. Schweppes is good and would be my second choice. I totally get what you mean about Fever Tree but do give it a go. Get the gold label one with full sugar as I think it is the best and let me know what you think. 👍 Hope that helps! All the best Bobby
@@nononsensegindrinking5152 Thank you Bobby! I'll definitely give fever tree a go since I saw that, it is your go to tonic 😉. I think I'll stay with my 1:2 ratio(50ml - 100ml). Beefeater tasted really nice with it. Wish you all the best sir 👍
My first bottle bought last week. First the good point....well it's super cheap! (£14.00). I have to say that it didn't suit my palate. I found it just too dry ( yes I know it's a dry gin ) and I was left with a weird dry taste the following morning that I didn't expect. Still at the price worth a try, just ordered a Sipsmith so I will see if that suits me better, cheers. G.T.
Have they stopped making this now? Seems surprisingly hard to find, my local supermarkets have the pink and orange variants but not the plain original version.
Hello! Not sure if you still read comments on old videos, but here goes: Ive tried the beefeater before and it always has 47% alcohol, now I got a new bottle of beefeater and it says it only has 40%, i haven't really tested it thoroughly but my first impression is that its aroma also substantially reduced... Have you noticed that difference in the past?
I read all my comments! 😊 Yes I have heard of the is happening in the US. Are you stateside? Over here in the uk I believe it has remained at a standard 40%. Maybe they are trying to bring it in line with us for some reason? I’m afraid I’ve never tried the 47% version so can’t really comment I’m afraid! 😊
@@nononsensegindrinking5152 wow thanks for getting back to me so soon! Well I'm actually in Hong Kong now. Im very new to gin, in fact the gin I drank was either at the bar or the 50ml miniatures I got few months ago. I remember opening the miniature and sniffed it for the first time, I knew it's gonna be my favorite now 😆 However idk why the big 1000ml bottle I got just doesn't have the same aroma... Imma try it tonight and with friends this Saturday, hope we can get to the bottom of this :p
My first taste was from a bottle which we found in my grandmum's basement. The cap was still on, but the bottle had been opened A LONG TIME AGO. There had been some mellowing, you could really taste the flavor. It was my go too medicine in college, Beefeater is the only brand of gin I've ever purchased, just never got around to trying anything else.
Just switched over to giving Beefeater a go after finishing a bottle of Tanqueray. I'm split on which one I like best. The Tanqueray is a hair more flavorful to me, but Beefeater is really good too. I am enjoying it very much and think it would be a worthwhile experience to give it a try.
There’s a lot of snobbishness towards Beefeater when in fact it’s a great gin at an equally great price. Travelled 1st class KGX-EDI, nobody complained when it was Beefeater that was being dished out.
True, not discusting. But probably the most boring gin I've ever tried. Even when mixed with Fevertree. Nowhere near Tanqueray. Very entertaining vidjo though. Keep up the good work!
I love Bombay, Bombay Sapphire, Tanqueray, Gordon's, Seagram's....but I am sorry...I just don't care for the flavor of Beefeater. I honestly think the orange peel taste turns me off.
This shit makes me gag everytime I smell it. Had one shot of it once straight and it did something to me. It’s so botanical it tastes like drinking straight perfume.
lil bit gin there? MAN its like 5:100 proportion, is tere anything taste like alcohol in this glass, or You just that senitive? ;D hyhy bc im not that much, im more into 1:1. You cant say its not fair game when it comes 1:1?? ;) both sides equal start

Schweppes is good and would be my second choice. I totally get what you mean about Fever Tree but do give it a go. Get the gold label one with full sugar as I think it is the best and let me know what you think. 👍
Hope that helps!
All the best
Bobby
@@nononsensegindrinking5152 Thank you Bobby!
I'll definitely give fever tree a go since I saw that, it is your go to tonic 😉.
I think I'll stay with my 1:2 ratio(50ml - 100ml). Beefeater tasted really nice with it.
Wish you all the best sir 👍
It's a pleasure @Marcus Staysafe
my friend😊
Good job!((from USA).
Cheers sammy jackson of Hollywood ! 😊😊
G.T.
Thanks for your thoughts Ben. Everyone has a different taste. Let me know what you think of the Sipsmith 👍
Have they stopped making this now? Seems surprisingly hard to find, my local supermarkets have the pink and orange variants but not the plain original version.
I had one Sunday night.
Just tried it today and youre right its a gpod gin for a decent price. I just dont know why Gin doesn't get me drunk at all
Why are you trying to get drunk?
Wow, now £12.00 for this size bottle in Asda. Bargain !
Hello! Not sure if you still read comments on old videos, but here goes:
Ive tried the beefeater before and it always has 47% alcohol, now I got a new bottle of beefeater and it says it only has 40%, i haven't really tested it thoroughly but my first impression is that its aroma also substantially reduced... Have you noticed that difference in the past?
I read all my comments! 😊
Yes I have heard of the is happening in the US.
I remember opening the miniature and sniffed it for the first time, I knew it's gonna be my favorite now 😆
However idk why the big 1000ml bottle I got just doesn't have the same aroma... Imma try it tonight and with friends this Saturday, hope we can get to the bottom of this :p
@@nononsensegindrinking5152 btw you earn yourself a sub! haha really enjoy your videos

Thank you so much! Welcome to my channel! Glad to have you onboard! 😊😊
In Poland, this is the best value gin on the market
Big 5 gin prices by liter:
Gordon's London Dry Gin $13.99
Bombay Dry Gin $19.99
Bombay Sapphire Gin (750 ml) $16.99
Tanqueray London Dry Gin $31.99
Beefeater London Dry Gin $22.99
Thats quite interesting, in turkey bomvay sapphire and beefeaters prices are reversed.
@@alperakyuz9702 The main surprise for me was that Bombay Sapphire is less than Bombay Dry Gin. Sapphire is pushed as their premium gin.
Big fan of Beefeater😊

Thanks Private Sector! Glad to have you aboard! 😊😊👍👍
Citadelle Gin - My Go To...
Beefeater is very reliable. Nice work.
Jason Owens
Thanks Jason! 👍
My favorite is Tanqueray... do y'all think I'd enjoy Beefeater?
Just switched over to giving Beefeater a go after finishing a bottle of Tanqueray. I'm split on which one I like best. The Tanqueray is a hair more flavorful to me, but Beefeater is really good too. I am enjoying it very much and think it would be a worthwhile experience to give it a try.
Two dislikes are from Gordon's and Bombay Sapphire.
😂😂yeah! They don’t like me!
I hate it...the bottle gets empty really fast..😁😁😁...perfect blend n taste...
Isham Kader
😂😂yeah that is the one problem with it !!
I just put water and squeeze a slice of lime or lemon. I don't put tonic water, don't like it sweet
Beeeeeeeeeeeeffffffffeatttter!!!!!!! Damn you got the pink too. Damn I gotta get closer to the source this just ny🤣💢
Price
£16.00 in Tesco as of July 2021
My favourite alcohol, I mix it with monster mango loco it’s the best drink ever
There’s a lot of snobbishness towards Beefeater when in fact it’s a great gin at an equally great price. Travelled 1st class KGX-EDI, nobody complained when it was Beefeater that was being dished out.
I prefer my Beefeater with soda. Am I weird??
Nah…gin is better with soda if you ask me
True, not discusting. But probably the most boring gin I've ever tried. Even when mixed with Fevertree. Nowhere near Tanqueray. Very entertaining vidjo though. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Peter! 😊
Excuse me Bombay sapphire is not bad
I love Bombay, Bombay Sapphire, Tanqueray, Gordon's, Seagram's....but I am sorry...I just don't care for the flavor of Beefeater. I honestly think the orange peel taste turns me off.
It’s found in America
This guy has got itch
Left back gin will help
Fun fact: beefeater is another word for a women's * whistles twice*
ICE! LIME WEDGE!
Drinking it with club soda while watching your video.
Bombay gin samphire gave me hives
I am a man who has recently bought a house in the local area
The video should start at 4:07.
You think your bottle is bland. Lmao mine has the same image but wayyy smaller and at the top with a bunch of blank glass

😂😂
This shit makes me gag everytime I smell it. Had one shot of it once straight and it did something to me. It’s so botanical it tastes like drinking straight perfume.
Is this the Jack Daniels of England?
Kyle Galiano
Hey Kyle,
Yeah I suppose it is! You’ve got Jack and we’ve got Beef! 😂
Beefeater is pretty damn good
Glad you agree Danny! 👍
i guess im the only one earth who didnt like Beefeater.. maybe the bottle i bought was fake or out of date? duno
I honestly did not like it. Tasted like rubbing alcohol to me and was extremely boring
lil bit gin there? MAN its like 5:100 proportion, is tere anything taste like alcohol in this glass, or You just that senitive? ;D hyhy bc im not that much, im more into 1:1. You cant say its not fair game when it comes 1:1?? ;) both sides equal start
Please boycott such Pernod Ricard brands like Beefeater until thy stop exporting to Russia.
Nah.
In India beefeater gin 750 ml bottle
is available at 47% abv at an excellent price of Rs.2000 which is roughly GBP 19 only😅😅
