I remember listening to this back when I was about 15. It had just came out. A tragedy had befallen me and my family. My mother survived a major heart attack a few days prior and we had just gotten word that if a heart bypass wasn't preformed she would die. Now my mother has always been an extremely sick woman. Ever since she was a child she struggled with getting the worst of our family genetics, by 29 she already had her first heart attack and stent implanted in her. I remember that the night of the bypass I wasn't able to be there with her because of a very very neglectful stepfather and me being 15 I was unable to drive so my mother faced that alone which is something I will forever regret making her do, but I remember my last phone call with her before they put her under afterwards I turned on this playlist to try and sooth myself from the very real possibility that I may lose my mom and I wouldn't be there to say goodbye. I turned this on and cried myself to sleep that night. Amazingly she survived the operation which only had a 30% chance of her doing so and now I'm 21, I've listened to this mix off and on since then and every time come back to it I don't feel a sadness however it does ignite a deep deep nostalgic feeling and everytime i listen to within our reach I feel very fearful for no reason. I believe that is because it was the first song I heard that night and the one I broke down to as a young teenager. I poured everything into that song. I'm happy my mother is still alive and trying to live her best life and I try to be the best son I can be to make up for being absent on probably the scariest day of her life. I love you momma.
I have returned here again about 2 years later to listen to this mix. I don’t know what about this mix makes me so happy and sad, both relaxed and anxious at the same time. I’m 23 now and I remember the day my mom had her heart attack very vividly still. I’m in the army now. I just graduated basic training 10 days ago. I’m at AIT learning my job and I’ve never missed my mom more than I do now. I felt as though I needed to get out and start my life, like I had something to prove to myself and others and now that I’m here I’m more lonely than ever. I honestly kind of regret it, I miss home, I miss my mom and I miss being 15, I haven’t been truly happy for a long long time. I wish I could be, I thought everything would get better when I enlisted but it got worse and now I’m stuck. I will carry on and take it day by day but at this point I don’t know how it’ll get better. I miss you momma, I’ll see you soon. I love you

I know how it is to lose someone I love... it's been my whole life...
