Very well made video. The comparison is fair and objective. But there are some things I want to point out. First of all, Tymon and other speedcubers that are sponsored by GAN doesn't use the 12 because there's no point in upgrading. They get their cubes for free anyway. Instead it's because the 13 and 14 are inferior in performance compared to the 12. Second of all, what is it with people not liking the moyu dual adjustment system? Yes it uses screws, but who doesn't know how screws works? If anything, it's a good thing. You can lube it easier, do spring swap, and add or remove maglev. Yes it's the same system that's been used for years, but it works well doesn't it? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Thx for reading
Yeah I think I worded the segment about Tymon incorrectly, I intended for them to be separate points (first being there is no point upgrading and the second being even sponsored cubers prefer older cubes). But it definitely came across like I was using Tymon as evidence for the first point! On MoYu's tensioning system, personally I just prefer to use a system that doesn't have a screw because it makes it easier to get equal settings on all sides. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
On paper, not inferior... Maybe it's preference, I can't find a reason why GAN would literally have a worse cube that's newer, more expensive, and has more features than its older models
Your channel is very good. You deserve more subscribers. In my personal opinion for innovation, GAN have come up with; 1. Adjustable corner to core magnets before moyu 2. MagLev before moyu 3. UV coating before moyu and 4. Duel adjustment system before moyu So i think GAN would win innovation. Excellent video BTW
Gan peaked with 12 and only polished it with 13,... the issue with the innovation within the 3x3 cube's technology is, well, it plateued there... it's likely there are no more game breaking feature that they can put, ....yet. Gan already did an amazing job on improving their adjustment systems by putting all settings in one without the need to replace parts, or an attempt on it atleast. Moyu on the other hand, probably paralyzes their customers with 10 cubes to choose from every time. They certainly have a huge room to improve on the product design... (Im mostly referring to the primary internals, which Gan and Tornado is very much appreciated)
Gan over built quality is unmatched, i have WRM 2021, and the gap between the pieces are uneven, every time i hold it, i can feel the sharp edges from the bad built quality. My gan 356M and 356M maglev is so well built, the gap are perfectly flush, the plastic feels better, the cube just overall feels like a very premium plastic puzzle.
Yeah, I agree that the plastic is very premium because it does feel a lot better. But I had to take into consideration the weight. And I think this is where GAN falls down because their cubes are way too light.
@@UK_Cuber i am aware that GAN flagships are very light, they most likely made the plastic thinner and thinner. I tried the GAN 13, even tho the plastic was premium, the cube felt hollow, especially the sound. The GAN mid-range cubes feel better, they are heavier, my older GAN 356m is 5 years old, and it was the best sounding, the most solid GAN cube I’ve ever had. My 356m maglev, is slightly heavier than the 356m, but i feels a bit more hollow, they added so much more magnets that they have to thin the plastic down but it still feels more solid than the GAN 13 i tried.
I feel like the innovation was kind of bias although I do prefer moyu gan has innovated way more then moyu moyu has just been copying most of gan's innovations and creations
It is my first time seeing your content and i have to say what a great job you have done, from the editing to the narration. Great work! You just earned your self a sub!!!!!
Pretty sure X man is crying Right now💀 Also moyu released more then 30 cubes last year💀 Anyways great editing! Also 3:45 WRM V10 is it a mistake Or do you mean super weilong?
I do really like he X-Man Tornado V3! They are just a much smaller brand name when it comes to 3x3's. 30 cubes in one year for a single brand is absolutely ridiculous, but it backs up the point that there will be a MoYu cube for everyone regardless of preferences. Thank you! Yeah, I thought it was called the V10 but after a quick google I just realised it was called the Super Weilong, my bad!
In the video, I saw some of your solves and noticed that you don’t double flick on U2s ans D2s. So, I would recommend adding double flicks to your U2s now because once you get faster, it will be harder to switch back. Hope you found this useful!
Especially considering the cost of that sort of box. Many people trying to bring products to market have vaporised their profits trying to engineer Apple like packaging. Rather than pennies, it adds dollars to the cost of a product. For small runs of larger products, people have faced tens of dollars of packaging costs.
You make some good points and the editing is awesome. The fact that MoYu has various cubes in different price ranges for every preference makes MoYu the clear winner imo.
I feel theres not much the cubing companies could do to improve the cube. Like rn, the innovation in cubes is just adding magnets, and that really isnt an innovation, imo. Yes bringing back the ballcore, and uv coating is new, but apart from that, I guess now they should focus upon doing the same stuffs with bigger puzzles.
Yeah, I'm sure they are trying to innovate but at a certain point there won't be anything left to change. And I mean UV coating was on cubes since the 11 which was around 4 years ago.
@@UK_CuberIve had it on my ys3m bc uv, but i heard someone on the cubicle say it in a video happen to one of the 23547468 moyu cubes relaesed in the past year. Take the cubicle one with a grain of salt tho
Yeah maybe. However I wanted to take an average from each brand and considering the Super Weilong is just one example of a good unboxing, I believe GAN are still better within this category.
@@UK_Cuber core magnets, edge repelling magnets, uv coating, stickerless caps, squared corners, the list goes on. Just because a brand isn't innovative now doesn't mean they aren't innovative at all
Yeah there is always going to be a little bit of bias around my favourite cube at the time but from someone who has mained GAN cubes for ages, I tried to be as objective as possible.
@@UK_Cuber Agreed...I'd love to see them quit all the releases and have a yearly flagship, plus other mid-tier and budget cubes, kind of like what Gan does. They should 100% stick with the perfect dual adjustment system, but magnet adjustments...would be such an amazing addition. And they should update big cubes, 2x2 and other events, stop with the 3x3 mania!
calling gan stale on innovating while not calling out moyu never changing their dual adjust system. but then in the next section - calling out moyu afterwards for not changing their dual adjust and praising gan for changing theirs. like make up your damn mind 😂
The intent was not to praise GAN on not changing their system! I already criticised them for not innovating and just slightly altering the look of their GES system. But as a design, their tensioning system is so much better, so even if they haven't changed it (which is very annoying) it's still better than MoYu's.
Maybe! I rarely try QiYi cubes but I probably should use more of them! For this video I was mainly just going for the two biggest brands when it comes to 3x3's.
