I just stumbled across your channel and I enjoyed watching the video you narrated, I always like to see this type of stuff. I’m in St.Louis Missouri here in America and we don’t have quite such a lengthy history and traditions that others have, I think it’s neat.😊

Thank you Anna, I really appreciate your feedback. I will let Stewart who presented the video know too. He sets a very high standard on himself and what he does, he is very self critical, I mean. Your feed back is great, thank you very much for sharing your thoughts with us. Best wishes.

Hi Anna - Thank you for your kind remarks. Glad you enjoyed it. We like to look at history through the eyes of the ordinary people, whose story is often over looked.

Thank you, that was great! My late husband and I cleaned the school in 82-83 when Mrs. Robertson told us the school would be closed for want of a cleaner. We had just come from Australia and lived in Fincastle. We used to cycle to Killiecrankie each week day before work at Bonskied House. I'm thrilled that we too are part of that rich history

Thank you Jenny, I would like to add your account to the text below the video, as it is an important part of the school's history. Can I ask what your husband's name was? Can you give us a few more words about what you did. It would be good to preserve it. I will let Stewart know of your comments.

@@JamesRattray My husband was Robin Grant, James, an Australian by birth but a Scot at heart. We were both Grants and had recently been married in Inverness by Kenneth Grant!
We would arrive at the school about 7.30am on our bikes and later in our little much loved old MG sports car. to find all the chairs neatly up on the desks. We swept and dusted, then put the chairs back and I remember getting a reprimand from Mrs. Robertson for not dusting her desk! The blackboard and toilets were also part of our duties. We gave up the job when we found other work (Rob was and Accountant and I a nurse) and a local was found to do the cleaning .
(I visited Killiecrankie in 2005 and scattered some of Rob's ashes in the Pass. We so loved cycling along that path. Killiecrankie has a very special place in my heart.) Thank you for your interest, James. Jenny.

We enjoyed this very much. My husband's grand father may have attended the school as he was at Auldclune though he was on the Blair Atholl side of the burn so perhaps he would havwe had to go north to Blair Atholl.. I myself went to Logierait school at Ballinluig and much of what you say of your own school days was similar to my experience. Thankyou for the video

I was a pupil up till 1974 then I left for the high school at Pitlochry. I'm pretty sure Miss Mac Martin was still my teacher that year. Before I left a portable classroom was put in the corner of the playground and a new teacher arrived to teach the younger children, this must have been Miss Robertson. So 2 teachers in 1974. Apart from that I found this a very interesting item. Brought back a lot of memories.

Eileen, love your comments and feedback. I have asked Stewart to have a look and respond to you. Do you have any anecdotes of your own to add to this Killiecrankie School story? We would love to hear them and keep them together here for future generations. Thank you for commenting.

Hi Eileen - Glad you enjoyed it. We were all part of the history of this tiny school which shaped us into the people we all turned out to be.
