These birds are very common here in Leicestershire, but I'm still fascinated by them, herons and cormorants because they were rarely seen just 20 or so years ago.
@@AShotOfWildlife I’d recommend Bradgate Park as there’s often large amounts of deer there. Scence valleys also very good. Lots of dragonflies there during the summer
@@theotheseaeagle Great, thank you. I will add it to my list. I have an aunt in Leicester so I could probably get a free place to stay whilst I'm there too.
Beautiful bird love to see them. As you have said we get them in NI esp Strangford also seen on the Liffey in Dublin. Keep up the fabulous short shots they are invaluable.
I have only discovered this bird in the last 6 months and in the most random of places. There is a section of the river lark that passes through the middle of my local Tesco car park in Suffolk. The egret doesn’t seem phased by the busy traffic. It’s quite common to see it wading for food but there only ever seems to be the one lone bird. Very lovely to watch 😊
Do see plenty of little egrets around southern waters. Something to note is the seeing of large egrets which drew many twitchers to a coast path near Weymouth a few years back.
In the Netherlands where I live, little egrets are more rare than Large Egrets. Altought older people tell me that the large was very rare till 20 years ago. Now it's a common sight. Love those birds, very beautiful.
When I recorded one I got an email back saying it was wrong, followed by one a few days later saying it had been confirmed after all. We were watching it for ages. Stunning little bird
Love this channel easy to pick up and really informative. If it is all mostly your own footage and narration ect ect .. its top quality work sir Thank you ✌🏻
Another lovely informative video. I saw my first little egret on Elmley marshes in June 1985. it was quite a few years before I saw the next one. Now, on the Essex coast it is a poor days birding if you don't see one at least.
Thanks Tony. I saw my first much later than that, in Cambridge around 2012. It was when I was beginning to take a serious interest in other things apart from fish and amphibians (which is where my passion for wildlife started). When I first saw it I had no idea what it was but after that first time, I saw it almost daily. Cheers
With all the news of nature depletion in the U.K. over the past few decades, it's really encouraging to hear of the success story that is the Little Egret. Once again, Liam, a very well put together and informative video.
I live in the Philippines and I see them often, either alone or with other Heron species (Javan Pond Heron, Striated Heron, Cattle Egret, Great Egret).
I live in the Lake district but also part of Morecambe Bay (Ulverston) we have a ever growing number of little egrets that have made our little town their home, the tide comes in twice a day and when at low tide the are always seen along the shore feeding.
Lucky you, it must be a wonderful place to live? I haven't actually seen them at the beach here but that might be because there's a shelf so when the tide drops it doesn't expose much sand. Cheers
Thank you for the fantastic video Liam, we were fortunate enough to see a great egret this summer in Bowthorpe Marshes. It was an amazing experience. Hope to see more the next summer.
Thank you.funnily enough, the great egret in this video was at bowthotpe marshes the winter before last, when it flooded. Could've been the same one! Cheers!
Very beautiful! Here in Upstate New York, I live quite near to an animal sanctuary and we have a few Egrets here as well. There are quite a few who come and photograph/video them. You’ve done a wonderful job filming them. I don’t know a lot about Egrets so this was very enjoyable. I didn’t know their feet were yellow. Interesting, thanks!
Hi Donna. I suspect the species you have there are snowy or cattle egrets. Snowy egrets look similar but I don't believe they have yellow feet and they're a bit smaller. Thanks for leaving a comment as always, I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
Another useful and informative compilation Liam. Glad you considered my footage worthy of inclusion, for which you are always very welcome! Have a great week buddy. 👍🤓👍
How miraculous, their recovery! A curse upon those who hunt for pleasure. I have only seen the lone intermediate egret who comes to the creek in front of my bedroom window in Sydney. I have seen any number of cattle egrets in the roadside parks and near water bodies in south India. I have never seen a little egret or a great white, except at a wildlife sanctuary called Bharatpur in north India, where I stayed overnight and also saw a red fox at dusk, wandering among the rose plants.

I'm in awe of all egrets and herons. The birds are majestic.
whenever I see a little egret it always reminds me of going on holiday to spain.
I live in Dublin and we have so many of these birds along our coast.
Swans and Egrets living side by side.
I absolutely adore egrets. Just love them
Beautiful birds ❤
great video very informative and enjoyable as usual thanks for sharing
Thank you so much 🌻
Thanks for watching!
Yet another great video. Thank you Liam
My fave bird, I have many thousand pics of those little fellas. Very tricky to shoot, they can look quite goofy from some angles.
Thanks you
Thanks!
Lovely little bird, see them quite often in the river Plym, Devon.
Thanks
Thank you! Devon is a beautiful part of the country that I must visit more!

I have to say, Leicestershire is a county I've yet to visit with wildlife in mind so I will try to get across next year at some point.

Saw little egrets with full plumage in Rutland this year. Stunning!
A bird I havnt seen in the wild, thankyou for this
Lucky to have a pair occasionally visit my little chalk stream in High Wycombe.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful information. Love to watch on birds & wild Life videos

I am from Bangalore India, it's a nice presentation about a very rare bird Egret. Thanks a lot

Fascinating facts and info on this once very rare bird, loved the video Liam.
Thanks Raymond! Glad you enjoyed it.
i really enjoyed this Liam, nicely put together. inspirational. have a great week.
Thanks Calvin. Have a great week as well!
Thanks Liam for sharing the facts about the Little Egrats! Greetings from Gothenburg and have a good week! // Bertil.
Oh I’ve never seen on before! I’ve only seen herons, and even then, herons are rare for me to see, one flys by every once in a while.
Thanks!🦢
Thank you.
Nice one Liam. This is a really nicely put together series of shorts. Keep 'em coming. Cheers
Cheers Ludwig. I have plenty more lined up!
I'm originally from the Uk but I live in Japan now. I find it amazing how common herons and egrets are here compared to what I am used to in the UK

Cheers. The narration, script and editing are all me, a varying amount of the footage is mine depending on what I have been able to film.
Egrets live down here in South Texas (Corpus Christi). There are three that show up in my yard. They look so beautiful when taking off to to fly.

We have a sum total of 1 Little Egret here in Hemel Hempstead. It's a very illusive little bird, really doesn't want me to take its photo.
Excellent video. I finally got a shot of one near Nelson, New Zealand today. Quite uncommon here. It was raining so my photo was not very good.
Great video Liam, thank you. I saw a big Egret flying over where I was in Cheltenham several evenings in a row at the end of last summer.
Thank you. I have mostly seen great egrets at the end of summer too, I guess that's when they disperse into new places after breeding.
Hi Liam brilliant video again beautiful looking birds love the information you always put in the video keep up your brilliant work and videos Bernard
Cheers Bernard. Thanks for your support and for leaving a comment as always.

Would often see 1 on my dog walks but recently have been seeing 3 in the same area. Always a joy to see them 🙂

@@AShotOfWildlife you’re probably correct, I’m not sure. Thanks for commenting as well. 😃
@@AShotOfWildlife that’s a good idea.
Awesome Liam. Looking forward to more. I've just uploaded a short relaxing film on Little Egrets on my channel if you want to take a look.

Great

We have a colony that bteeds near Mahee Island, Strangford lough.
Hoping to see little egrets sometime but haven't spotted any yet, despite having seen much rarer species on nearby rivers and wet areas.
Good luck. This is probably the best time of year to see them when they are most spread out.

Wow 🎉
how did the cattle egret became so widespread lately?
They have followed the same pattern as little and great egrets. Erupting from France and Belgium in the autumn with some sticking around to breed.
നൈസ്. Where is this place ❤️.
Can you explain why the chick in the back has a yellow bill? Looks like a Great Egret chick.
Egrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention.
@user-kc7mu4jp4pFrank Sinatra had a monster hit with it in 1969.
Never seen a Little Egret chick
They do look properly prehistoric!
Loads in somerset and storks as well as large egrets I don't think people were eating then there's not much meat on
👍♥️
👍
Thanks Jill.
So what bird looks like this, but has yellow legs and a yellow Ibis shaped beak.
I have one in my basement
Why?
