Knife dueling (training), although essential, is basically a game of tag. The attributes of speed, timing and accuracy are essential components, along with the requisite strategy. Dueling is one aspect of edged weapons training. Another is ambush response. With regard to training the duel, I have found asymmetrical drills to be particularly valuable.

Seems to have very little in common with the highly stylised Sicilian knife fighting I have seen. The guy in white is literally just jabbing. No fencing style footwork, no complex flourishes, no hand swapping.
Ancient European martial arts books also have related armor and weapon fighting techniques. In addition to grabbing the blade, the knife duel also uses the handle to strike. Among them, the most impressive one is the Whispering Window of the long sword.

Es un tipo de esgrima con navaja. De todos modos las peleas donde los dos tienen cuchillo pueden asemejarse más a esto (Esperar al fallo del otro) que a ir a lo bruto a ver que pillas.
The video is well done & the movements look useful, but I have to mention, half in jest, if the gentleman in white took the time to fix his hair, multiple times, in a real battle, he would probably be dead. Hopefully one would never have the misfortune to find themselves in a knife vs knife fight, those don't end well for either party!
Credo che tutto questo vada bene a livello storico culturale ma uno con un coltello ti si fionda addosso e ti crivella di fendenti e non si mette a fare la danza del serpente...tutto si risolve in pochi secondi e molte ferite, una volta ho provato a parare una coltellata a mani nude e mi sono squartato una mano...e stavamo giocando....
Soprattutto appunto tutta la dinamica si sviluppa in una zuffa chiusa e violenta!! Non esiston balletti ne parate.. Se sei fortunato che alla 1-2a coltellata nonnsei morto perche ti ha preso un fianco o una spalla e hai la fortuna di bloccare il braccio armato dell avversario a tua volta lo avrai pugnalato 3-4 volte sperando di aver preso organi vitali o punti che mandino in shock inmediato... Ecco perche non esistono coltelli FOLDER da combattimento sia perche non avresti modo ne tempo di tirarlo fuori e usarlo.. Sia perché le dimensioni della lama non causano un danno invalidante nell immediato! Nelle trincee coi coltellini chiudibili ci pulivano la frutta!!
