Ive had 15+ years of the stereotypical uk lads life style. Straight to the pub from work on a Friday for 10+ pints, wake up hungover on Saturday go to the football for another double figure drinking session, feeling even worse Sunday so go for a couple of hair of the dog pints to watch super Sunday. Work Monday feeling terrible, feel groggy until Thursday, Friday comes and all over again…. I’ve known for a while i wanted to get away from this lifestyle and it wasn’t until i found Leons youtube and his perspective that put me in the mindset to commit to it. Over 2 months now of no alcohol and i don’t think i have ever felt so good in my adult life (drank since 15!). I cannot see myself ever drinking again. Leon i just wanted to say thank you 👍
Been listening to your pod cast for 47 days and a lot of your conversation has been relatable for me. I just experienced 6 months of tending to my Sister's needs who passed from hepatitis C and cirrhosis of the liver. My you youngest Brother also died from cirrhosis of the liver. My other brother overdosed from heroin or some chemical of his choice. My Dad was an alcoholic and also died from alcoholicism. For many years tried to get my Father to quit drinking some how knowing the final result at this time in my life. I have gone almost 50 days with little desire. The podcast available on the Internet have helped greatly. I am now tending to my Mother's needs with the help of my Husband. She is 89 yrs. young who has never really consumed. I can't say I have quit but I have had a rude awakening. You and the others sharing their stories have given me strength and a very strong resistance to not want. Thank you for sharing.
The best way to stop drinking is to become self aware and understand the WHY behind the drinking. Fears, resentments, grief, emotional and mental trauma, it all manifests in alcoholism and addiction if not dealt with. One important thing when trying to cut out is, to not hang around with people who are drinking. You have to separate yourself until it's manageable. Thanks Leon!👋❤👍
@@ZomBMarketing Eric, if a person just had an occasional drink alone and doesn't lead to dependency or depression, it is not a problem. It all depends if you drink alone to relax, out of boredom, to drink comfortably at home or to ease social anxiety. Just try to avoid heavy drinking. Take Care!👋❤
The only reason I drink alcohol is to escape this shithole of a life for a few moments. I have got a loving family, a loyal and loving girlfriend, but there's something that still pulls me into this darkness. Hopefully, I'll give it up one day very soon.
I find N.A. beer kinda relaxing to have when a friend is drinking. Gives me somethin in my hand and kinda refreshing and tastey but im still giving money to alcohol companies who lie and destroy lives for profit so ....its not really worth it.

Since I drink alone in my room this shouldn't be an issue.

There's a company Al's that only sells nonalcoholic drinks and makes a pretty good tasting one IMO
M'y principal motivation for not drinking is the fact that I am sick and tired of paying taxes on that stuff. So I thank the government for it 😁😉
