same, deleted sketch for a clean line is like taking off the initial magic intention you put in the canvas, for ending up with a soulless perfect artpiece, imperfection is the expression of our incontroled intuitive part that so sad to wip it of
I thought it was a must until i saw one artist, who does semi realism, blend it into the art and i was like OH THANK GOD cause sometimes, the art was too much for solid lineart, but removing the lineart messed up the shape
His process is actually similar to painting with oil paint! I do this with my digital arts to make my art look more tradtional-ish than digital, also tip: do not zoom too much to save time :3
Process is called "Block-In" In Academic Classical Drawing 1. Block-In (Simple Shapes) 2. Notan (Light and Shadows) 3. Modeling (Blending) 4. Refining (Small Details) amazing video btw!!!!❤
Even not for the artist who desires this style, every artist needs to really watch this video--because every artist needs to let go of perfection in art. 🙏
Sketching is one of the hardest things of drawing because if your sketch looks messy it is SOO hard to lineart and then your lineart looks like garbage, so these tips help sm 😭😭
I find it useful to clean the sketch with eraser, i sometimes draw everything in one layer (i mostly draw black and white) and just continue to draw in thick lines that I later clean up until they look ok and what remains becomes the lineart
@@alexzakalex3540 That is a very useful tip, thank you!! I have tried this and have failed, but yk there is no hurt in trying again! Thanks for reminding me this existed lol
@@No.Thank.you. usually irredeemably messy lineart means you dont have proportions/objects set in mind when you start OR that you dont know how to do those proportions/objects. Ofc you gotta study that BUT ik that doesnt happen in a day. A work around i do is to do a sketch, then clean up the sketch to establish forms, THEN lineart to solidify it. (Hint: you can clean up for as long as you like). It probably wont work as well traditionally, since paper and such is so finite on how much erasing and drawing it can take, but its sumn i do
@@No.Thank.you.also never be afraid to sit aside that sketch and use it as a reference while redrawing it when you dont like it. And also never forget, sometimes, truly, it doesnt work for others. Ik people who dont sketch. Not even guidelines... Like i have to have at LEAST a guide for where my head is 😂
I absolutely love this style! Incorporating the refined precision of graphic art with the softness and layers of realism and traditional art. Absolute joy to look at! This is the type of style. I strive for in my own work and feels natural to me.❤️
My tablet that I use to draw on stopped working randomly so now I either sketch on paper, take a photo of it and send it to my laptop, or try to sketch on my laptop 😭 but the point is I want to learn this technique, it's pretty cool
glad I found your content! this speaks to me more than what we usually do. I don't know why I didn't think of it considering how people suggested I try sculpting instead when they see how I draw and hear how I lament about not being satisfied about the process of refining things. I currently don't have the mental energy to learn a whole new program so this is a really cool technique to try!! thank you
I've always drawn like this, glad to know I am not alone, I started doing this with paper and pencil I'd outline, then blend my sketch lines with a paper blending stick while also drawing with it, it's good for shading while blending
this is really interesting, i may just give it a go! i’ve been feeling stuck on my process, which in turn has been making me feel stuck in me finding a style i like. i feel like it’s about time i try another workflow entirely, and this looks so cool and sometime i can incorporate into what i want to do overall
It's much closer to painting than line art. I think of line art as a separate category since it's more constrained form of drawing since it limits what counts as successful representation.
No matter the amount of art tut I watch yours are the only I understand. how maybe one day you can do a art tut of how to draw anime bodies. I still have no clue of how to draw them lol ( been drawing for 4-3 years )
How to sketch like an art god, but proceeds to use digital: 💀💩 (Not that it's all cheating, but it's all in the brush texture & ctrl+z. Try drawing traditionally, then maybe call it at any semblance of an art god, digital user. )
It’s not random scribbling, it’s called gesture, it’s the most valuable drawing stage, it’s where you establish the flow of the drawing, composition, leading the viewers eye through. If you fk that stage up ur drawing will be ass
I never delete my sketch, I hated the idea since the beginning. This guy has my instincts, I'm glad I found this video.

Sketching is so much fun traditionally but I always feel awkward on my iPad and worse on my XP Pen.
I know what you mean, i have XP-Pen artist 13.3 and there days i love it and days i can't stand it
thats how it is for me too.. i dunno how to fix it😕
Is it maybe the texture? That’s why I’m stuck to traditional over jumping to digital.
Ikr😅
Wow i thought im the only one. Could it be the xp pen tablet? 😂

Pls do more analysis of anyone's art u like.
I used to do this a lot as a traditional artist, I couldn't improve until I learned how to use my digital tools like this

I love this. It's basicakky trust the process
I love the video! You’re concise while also explaining things properly. Thank you! I’m a new subscriber btw 💕
Such a great analysis! Thank u for this video and the effort you put into making it! ❤
no problem! glad it helped ❤

His sketching smudging becomes the shadows, very cool
THIS was how i do drawing, rough sketch and smudge then refine, one of the reason i hate coloring 😅 thanks for elaborated it
😭Well, every time I watch you, I get a passion for drawing 😔🤌🏻
happy to hear that :)
This was so helpful. Thank you so much :)
glad it helped!
Kenan draws is another art god that is like this and I want to get to that level
Thankyou for this
Yay! Kraymer posted :D Ive never been early lol
i use traditional or digital according to the project, and this is fairly similar to charcoal sketching, or at least one way to use charcoal.
fkey has a similar process, I'd suggest looking into it xD

Ooo i might try this but with traditionals.
Man i already know my hands gonna be dirty as hecc.
Can u make a video about rendering clothes 😭🙏
i was excited to learn this in photoshop, but the smudge tool doesnt behave quite the same way in whatever software he uses, sadge
Note that drawing from the shoulder also reduces the risk of RSI in your wrist.
Bros so advanced he shades b4 drawing 😭
does anyone know atomoon tab and drawing app?
No matter the amount of art tut I watch yours are the only I understand. how maybe one day you can do a art tut of how to draw anime bodies. I still have no clue of how to draw them lol ( been drawing for 4-3 years )
Have you ever considered studying anatomy 🙄
which drawing tablet do you use? I would be glad if you could answer me
I really thought that thumbnail is made by pencil turns out it was digital!? Kinda dissapointed but still such a good example to do
what brushes does he use?
The portrait reminds me of Tzuyu from Twice for some reason.
is atomoon using procreate in this video?
Do u know where I can find that pen nib at?
if you search 'metal pen nib apple pencil' you should be able to find it :)
*what drawing tablet is he using??*
Love
How to get that smudge in krita it seems procreate have op stuff :0
fr, procreate smudge is godly
Did they paint on just 1 layers.. i feel a bit confused😭
Yeah, i mean how would they blend the messy sketch to that otherwise
Do you olay an instrument by any chance 🤨?
0:01 im sorry i thought he said autistic T-T

lmfao
damn traditional elitist in the big 2024
all this time i thought people who think digital art isnt real art werent real
t. guy who doesn't draw
Use that energy for Ai “art”
