The reason as to why they don't live with them is because Yautja sees more potential in them as prey, so they can hunt them and strengthen their own race in the process.

A lot of authors don't understand how strong Yautjas are or even how their society/philosophy works. The only thing Yautjas fear is dishonor, not even death scares them, neither highly technological species like the Amangi which the Yautja ended up bringing them into submission. The Drukathi always sounded like over the top fan fiction to me, even the engineers don't sound that over the top. At the end of the day we only need to see who is left standing in the universe.
