Welcome back to a new Vlog video, July 25, 2024! We finally got a dumpster!! No more walking accross the parking lot to use the neighbors dumpster. We used to take out the trash once a week but now we can empty our trash everyday. This should help with the cleanliness of the 3D print farm.
Todays video we will go into a deep dive on some new details regarding our new dragon eggs as well as taking photos, videos, and promotional videos to launch this product on TikTok, Etsy, Amazon, Walmart, and our website. I also go into some depth regarding profit margins for 3D printed products. Come along as I show you the behind the scenes on what I am doing with the business!

Your transparency is amazing and ironically has helped me decide that what you do is not for me at this point in time. I really appreciate the level of detail you provide and your ability to explain things in plain English versus wrapping it all up in marketing speak or try to make it sound more complicated than it is (there is another 3D printing farm channel I watch where they make it confusing and seem like you need a PHD in running a business to make a go of it).
In your filament costs, don't forget to factor in a percentage to account for failed prints. I think you did in your 11/8 = $1.50 rounded up, but a lot of other people don't do that, and it bites them in the rear occasionally. I realize you can't share all your numbers as that would be creating a cheat sheet for people to undercut you, but man I wish I knew more about the day-to-day costs as well as machinations. I find this all fascinating and you are the leader in my book thanks to sharing your journey from the basement in your house until now.
Please keep the awesome content coming.
Thanks for watching
From your previous video on the Bambu Lab X1 printers , I'm sure your gonna love the performance it. 5 years ago, I purchased my first printer, the old Creality CR-10 , which was total nitemare , not even worthy enough to be a boat anchor...lol
Keep up the good work there...
X1 series is quite amazing
i'm massively impressed at your success, and very surprised by your openness.
if i'm mathing right - based on how much material you order per month and how much you're profiting from a roll of filament, i suspect you're in the high 5 figures / low 6 figures of gross PROFIT per MONTH! 🤑
Right now it is pretty slow considering we sell mostly toy related items. It will pick up drastically in q4
I absolutely cannot thank you enough for your videos! You give so much insight into what goes into this. I am just starting out and am taking notes. I think I will make similar series in the future to maybe help others in the same way. Truly you are an inspiration!
You are so welcome! Consider becoming a member to help support the channel!
Can you make a video showing the print profiles you like to use? Looks like the eggs might be 3wall, around 10% gyroid? Thanks.
I typically use the Bambu profiles and just adjust walls. Gyroid I fill and I fill %. And also first layer height /speed if necessary
@@Dancyn3Dprints What % and how many walls? Thanks.
What’s the material amount difference between the egg and dragon?
Found when trying to size myself the eggs take up more material than actual dragons.
I typical make the dragons at 50g but the eggs size to fit these are more than 50g+ seems a waste of material in the eggs but suppose it helps shift them more than the dragons on their own?
Not sure of the exact filament amount I think it's around 60g
You should try do find a way to recycle your waste filament into new one, not an easy task but could make better profit. ( sorry my english )
It is pretty easy i do it for my shop
There are things u can buy
I think they are like 3-4 thousand
@@300D_Printing do you have a model for exemple ? i'm interrested
@@TheGuilev I’m away from home sorry
Set infill to 1-5% on eggs
I don't want them to break
@@Dancyn3Dprints they won’t
You are refreshingly open about everthing. We run india's biggest 3dprinting farm. I would like to have chat with you for 5 10 min. Can we connect on mail ? Whatsapp? Imprasive work 👍
How can I help you?
I like that you embed an image on the eggs.
Thanks
Thank you for the new video. I look forward to your videos, and appreciate all the details you share.
Thanks for watching
Ive followed your posts for a while now, and I love your content, but for me.... I hate it when you refer to people who work for you as 'my employee'. They are apart of your 'team', and they have a names. I love your content, but recognition is a great reward my friend.
@dadssecretkitchen8882 my later videos I start referring to them by their names
Your have one of the business focused channels I have seen on youtube. I like your pragmatic approach.
I appreciate that!
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Impressive scale.
Wondering who buys such type of products? Especially in such huge amount) Is it for kids mostly?
@@oleksandrn269 you're asking the wrong person lol
@@Dancyn3Dprints :)
Which print plate do you find provides the best adhesion/least fails?
@dwintster really depends but the textured pei sheet works 99% of the time
Which brand of filaments you use?
I've answered this in comments before I guess since it's a common question I'll make a video.
Great videos and awesome information.
Glad you like them!
Keep up the good videos
Thanks, will do!
What brand of filament do you use
I did a video on this
Thanks
@@Dancyn3Dprintswhere can i find this video
i noticed your eggs went from being smooth to the embossed. Did you do that yourself or did you get the designs like that?
Yes I did custom eggs for the dragons
Hey bud. Could you talk about what products you’d print to sell if you had to start over right now?
I'll be posting a new video on a new product soon
So have you tried to top mount your AMS lite for the A1s? Any reason why you have not?
I have 8 a1 printers with the top mount. If you look at my other videos you can see them
This video is very informative and your operation is very impressive. What accounting program do you use? Do you use your accounting program to track inventory from raw material to final product? What program do you use to track your skus?
Quickbooks. I don't track inventory it's all cost of goods I typically go through Plastic as quickly as I get thrm
@@Dancyn3Dprints Thanks.
Thats quite neat how you have embossed the eggs with the type of dragon inside, bloody good idea. Just a quick question if you don't mind, I presume most of you dragons are Cinderwing ones, what percentage size do you generally print them at?
Depends on the dragon and what size you're printing the egg at. Usually it's the same ratio.. example if egg is 80% dragon is 80% and it will fit
@@Dancyn3Dprints thanks, I just have to find the right egg lol, I'm trying to print some for friends here in New Zealand.
No opportunity for recycling stuff which goes into dumpster?
We recycle cardboard. There is a recycling center that is like .1 miles away.
@@Dancyn3Dprints what about empty plastic spools?
@@UnCoolDad I've seen people listing empty spools on eBay in small to large quantities, with hundreds sold. It's not going to make you rich but it will make you feel better than binning them. The buyers are not necessarily 3d printer uses, they just want a spool for misc cables, etc.
Good stuff. A lot of insight into the process.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another good video
Thanks for watching!
Hello, great video!
Is it possible to know how you manage not to have a seam, or at least not to see it much on an egg? Thanks
you can set to behind or paint them on yourself. thats what i do to hide them
Pretty sure my eggs have a seam lol
@@Dancyn3Dprints Ok thanks. On my eggs the seam is not in the same place on the top & bottom part, which makes it look ugly.
@@Custom3dprintz Ok thanks. On my eggs the seam is not in the same place on the top & bottom part, which makes it look ugly.
Thanks!
Thank you!
Go over margin, pleaaseeee. Selling things for $9.99 on Etsy. Then fees, material, time and shipping. What do you make? $1? So confused on how you can make money selling so inexpensive.
I pay 20€ for 1 spool on Amazon 😂
@@Caminando_con_Aitor god damn
appreciate the video but massive farms like this prevent the average hobbyist from being successful or turning into a small business. You have become the WALMART/AMAZON of 3d printing. I hope one day you realize you have more than enough..
No one needs over a 100 printers and large businesses have no place here in my eyes.. You are also lowering the market value of prints by flooding it with your enormous volumes.. This started with people tinkering in their basements and garages..
Consider you actions and how they wake waves all around you, whether it is intentional or not. It does not change the result.
This guy is a Democrat.
You should change your perspective on things. There are thousands of things to 3d print and sell. I sell a small fraction. Instead of thinking I'm lowering the market price for these products why don't you print other things?
@@Dancyn3Dprints Tell yourself that sir. You have over a 100 printers. This is not a small fraction. Just own it bro. No one is dogging you, but realize your footprint. If you have not yet than there is no words to change your perspective. This comes down to money and numbers for you.
Just own it.
@that_guy915 welcome to owning a business. You don’t think he started out in a small market? He’s been able to support himself and grow into a bigger business. It’s how every business works. When you start you’re the little guy. So then you find ways to stand out and grow. Are small grocery stores going to Walmart to tell them they need to chill on their sizing? No. It’s called competition
It’s called business. I suggest you put some effort into learning about how it works. That’s how you become successful.
I have put a lot of time and energy into building my business, am I supposed to feel bad that random people who buy a 3d printer as a hobbyist don’t become rich overnight?
Being average gets you average. What exactly are you expecting?
