every time I have to listen songs .... i always listen all ar rahmans songs and occasionally govind vasantha's solo covers and some times love songs of annirudh... i have been tuning into munbe vaa, newyork nagaram, thanniye, very late. These songs have been coming to my suggestion on youtube... but ignorring. also mungil thottam... the more you listen ar rahman songs you would realize how legend of an artist he is. old songs of himesh reshamiya, and sometimes harrish jayaraj. now a days thaman s also been giving really beautiful songs... in shot... i listen to ar rahmns alot ... like alot
0:38 yesss. I was about to comment that in your next video that you should tell us the meaning of those musical terms you use and parts of a song (i.e. mukhra antra). Please make a video on this topic.
I dont know if you guys have heard this but in the "Tu Hi Haqeeqat" song from tum mile, when the "antra" part starts after like a minute and 15 seconds or so, Pritam sir added a anklet/paayal ringing element on the far right earbud, it took me a long break and headphones with better highs to hear it. Not to say, that it also matches the theme of the song so well and where the lyrics are going and what they're describing etc.
Yeh Mera deewanapan hai by Susheela Raman is my one of long-lived song which I discovered again recently, it's a part of my childhood, I think most of long-lived songs are which those we listened throughout our childhood.
I agree with your classification of categories, but I think visuals of a song also leave an impact and makes it easier for the listener to feel emotions from the song. For example, when in childhood I listened this song "mere dushman, mere bhai" from Border movie, I didn't took the song seriously. But jab movie dekhi, song ko scenes ke saath dekha, I cried. Since then, whenever I've listened to that song, it reminds me of numerous wars and always leaves with a question that is war necessary? (sometimes it is because some people won't live happily without screwing your happiness) and the moment ye question dimaag mein strike karta hai, we know the song has done it's job. Similarly, "Main Tumhara" from Dil Bechara movie wasn't that special for me until SSR and one of our teachers died. It always leaves me blank when I listen to that song. "Naina Ashq na ho" from Holiday movie also makes me cry because yes, as you said somehow my situation resonated with the song when my father was in Army, the song holds a special place in my heart. And one more example from my perspective is "Aankhon mein teri" from Om Shanti Om movie. I love KK sir's voice but when I was a kid I barely knew about any singer, for me it SRK's expressions and acting which made that song special for kid age of mine. I still blush when I hear or listen this song (specially when this phrase comes "kitna kuchh kehna hai phir bhi hain dil mein sawaal kahin" ❤ Talking about one more song of KK sir, "Kal ki hi baat hai" this one just makes me grateful towards him for helping me make beautiful memories. I always feel that I am blessed to hear him throughout my life.. so this one is special for me because we've all lost him. "Do pal ruka khwaabon ka karwaan" belongs to that category jisko drawer mein rakh sambhal ke suna jaaye😅. Also I had this experience ki koi gaana ek time pe kitna achha lagta hai but overdose of it, just rots the fun. Like when I first listened to "meri jaan" from Gangubai Kathiawadi, I used to listen it repeatedly and dheere dheere the magic disappeared but after a long I heard it back and achha laga phir. Same goes with Ik lamha from Azaan Sami Khan. Itni baar sun liya ki phir 1-2 hafte Tak sunne ka Mann nahi kiya😂😂 Short lived category mein I felt this for Srivalli and Saami Saami song. Dono gazab gaane the but har jagah itni baar baje ki ab agar FM pe bhool se bhi bajta to channel turant change😂😂 Lastly I'd say Thank you Ojesh bhaiya for broadening my mindset of understanding music and letting me know ki pakistani music sunne se deshdrohi nahi bante😅 I was always a big fan of qawalis lekin galti se bhi koi aur sun leta tha to yahi bolta tha ki 'tum Muslim ho kya? Kya shor sunti rehti ho? Pakistan jaana hai? And I used to feel that I shouldn't listen to such music. But since I've been watching your videos, I understood that it's okay to have different taste and it has nothing to do with name of nation or religion. Recently bahot saare achhe Pakistani gaane sune. Ali Sethi, Quratulain Baloch, Noori band has become my favourite. Poora coke studio season 9 + 10 khatam kar liya😂 I wish ki aap kabhi ek video Noori band par banao (featuring Paar Channa de song❤) kyunki they've made so so good songs! Also, I actually missed your this type of videos jaise aap pehle banate the because itni knowledge milti thi(my reason behind subscribing to your channel) but yes roast videos are good too(reason my sister subscribed your channel😂) But I'll say ki beech beech mein aisi info waali videos banate rehna. Bakloli aisi ho, to sunne mein maza aata hai😊 (reference from your own pinned comment:)
There is a song from the movie Heroine, called Khwayishein sung by Shreya Ghoshal, that song wasn't popular at the time of its release back in 2012 and probably I too didn't give much attention to it , as it hardly used to get aired on music channels, but during covid when we got stuck completely at home, exploring new stuffs on our phone , I actually rediscovered this song, and Thank God I did, now it plays on loop on my playlist, and I request everyone to listen to this gem of a song that is almost lost due to lack of publicity.
@@kkstv9238 listen to Yeh Dhoop Ek Safar, Ek Pal Ke Liye Hi Sahi, Thumka Yeh Meri Thumka, Nagma Koi Gungunane Ka, Yeh Meri Kahani, Tum Paas Ho Magar, Teri Meri Ankahi Dastaan, Tere Bin Kahan Humse Jiya Jaayega, Bolo Na Tum Zara, Mujhme Zinda Hai Woh, Chale Aao Saiyan, Rang Diya Dil Maine, Palkon Ke Phool, Aankhon Mein Neendein all by melody queen Shreya Ghoshal and thank me later.
Once I listen to one of kk's old songs and forgot it's name and now can't find it, but remembered a part of 1 second where he does his humming and that part remind me of my childhood which gives me a really uncomfortable but at same time nostalgia and still wanna experience that moment
Hey Sangeetarist, Very surprised to know that you spoke about Bohemian Rhapsody. Many songs of queen are gold ad many English songs and bands made similar type of music during that time.
For me, as a musician, melody is the most important aspect personally. I certainly admire the rhythm section but not at the cost of melody or composition. Moreover, improvisational & composition based musical genres like Hindustani classical & Karnatik music or even light classical I really like to listen despite being it for hours long because they explore beautiful mircrotonal melody dimension within the main composition. Apart from that, I also like modal jazz because it plays with modal composition rather than typical major or minor fixed sets of chords. When I first listened to John Coltrane & Myles Davis, it just changed my understanding of music as a Western musician myself. I can't say much about your listening theory, but I do have my own listening approach or feel. Anyway, nice video, man.
You somehow articulated my "Aam ear's" thoughts lol. I've always loved Sufi, Emraan Hashmi wale songs, Indie - Lucky Ali, Rock and English 80s, 90s songs. I'm so happy that Bohemian Rhapsody was mentioned. I've loved Queen. Also, Freddie is of Indian origin. Can you please listen to Big in Japan by Alphaville? I've never loved a song in a way that I love this one, ever since I first heard it. Ab yeh pata nahi ke aise hi pasand aa gaya ke actual me kuch hei but ha one of the reason I like this song is that it was made to express the feelings of those artists who are not celebrated in their home country but are known worldwide later, aisa hi kuch. Edit: Arey typos ho gaye the hehe
For me the legendary song is tere bin ( hum kahan ke sachey they ) just go and listen to this song man I dont know anything about composition But just go and listen This song gives me goosebumps
Same goes to Max Payne soundtrack in childhood it was cool but today it is one haunting music bhai is baat pe ek game ke soundtracks pe bhi ek video ban jaata toh 🔥
Yaar he should start to make videos on video game soundtracks, along with anime ones ❤ BULLY (full ost, specially - Busting In, Final Showdown and Welcome to Bullworth) Midtown Madness 2 Call of Duty 3 Condition Zero title theme Smack Down Here Comes The Pain Hitman Blood Money Plants Vs Zombies 1 & 2 Pocket Tanks Burnout 3 Takedown and Burnout Revenge SSX Tricky Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Angry Birds
This theory work a lot for me... matlab thode songs jo har roj radio pe aate hai , unhe sun ke mujhe bore aa jaata hai (jaise recently pathaan ke songs) aur ek stage par aisa lagta hai ki yaar ab mujhse nahi hoga. Aur thode songs aise hote hai jo bahut puraane hai par main bahut repeatedly sunti hu. Jitni bar sunti hu unta accha analyse karti hu .... samajhti hu. Mere kuch favorites jo main bar bar sunti hu Epudo ninnu (sita ramam) Humdard(ek villain) Khairiyat ( chicchore) Kaun tujhe (ms dhoni) Roke na ruke naina Channa mereya ❤❤❤❤ Mera bhai kehta hai ki main sad songs jyada sunti hu ..pata nahi kyu😅😅
I can never forget the soundtrack of Naruto series(anime) which I watched during COVID. I never really paid any attention while watching but after finishing the series it was already engraved and even when I hear it now somewhere it just starts giving me so much nostalgia and the memories start appearing..........♥️

Video 7-- Sir, I have a video request. Could you please make a video about Kashmiri singers such as Yawer Abdal (you may have heard him in Jashn-e-Rekhta this year), Ali Saifuddin (whose album was featured among the top 30 individual albums of 2022), Alif (who has sung for this year's Coke Studio Bharat), and many more? These artists have created many beautiful songs. I hope you will consider making this video.
Kudos to you ! Such a detailed and brilliant way of explaining. I always wonder how do people approch diff. songs ...in a way similar or away from mine. Great listening from you...this is one of your favourite videos of mine !!!

Fully relatable video........nice video....subscriber is not only think that matters ......it matters that how much your video touch the heart of others..... Kuch jaida gyan pel diya....😂😅
nice perspective.....I think ones audio setup is an important factor to detect nuances in the music. Audiophile grade headphones/iem with proper dac/amp source helps alot to fully enjoy the music. Also the file format (lossless over mp3) matters for critical listening.
Really wonderful analysis bro!!! It was so amazing to know your perspective of listening to a song, and how you approach a song while listening. And I want to highly recommend you an album by AR Rahman sir, which is Thiruda Thiruda (Chor Chor in Hindi I guess), which released in 1993, and I have to say, the sounding of this album will never allow you to believe that it was from the 90s. The album has some amazing compositions and wonderful arrangements, even after listening to it atleast 20-25 times, In able to find something new in any of those songs.... Even Amit Trivedi has talked about this album, being one of his favourites. Do check it out!!!!❤️✨✨
Please make a video about some of the best uncanny, eerie music that Bollywood has ever produced. Recently, i heard "Jee Le Zaara" from the movie Talaash. Felt like the music and the lyrics were a bit different from the recent trendsetters. Ram Sampath is one of my favorite composer. Personally, i love to hear these underrated songs that provides a different tone.
Shreya Ghoshal ke gaane mei ab wo baat nahi. It's been a long time ki uska koi Romantic Hindi song Chartbuster hua ho. Last time I think Ye Aaina tha (wo bhi sabse underrated song of tha album) Nowadays female singers are disappeared in Bollywood 😢
Yes it's sad. Female singers are almost disappeared from bollywood. They rarely get solo songs . Only Shreya Ghoshal gets solo songs otherwise most female singers get duet songs.
@@atifaslam5411 I don't know bro .Maybe the reason is male patriarchy mindest in Indian society . When we talk about those singers who ruled a particular era in bollywood music, we say that Kumar Sanu ruled 90's, Arijit Singh ruled this present era of music. But we generally ignore the contribution of female singers . People want every sad ,romantic, patriotic songs and serious type of songs in male voice ,item and dance songs are left for female singers.
For me it's AR Rahman's music that stands out the most (from the rest). The detail that he puts out into his compositions is just amazing. Been listening to his recent Tamil compositions in VTK and PS 2 but his old ones are gems as well...like i really enjoyed the albums of One two ka four, zubeida, Meenakshi, Maryan, Kadal, Kaatru Veliyidai, valayapatti etc....some of which remain so underrated till date. As u said, I find something new in his compositions every now and then, and thats what has kept me intrigued and excited for the last so many years. Do give a listen to some his lesser known albums and i hope u will like them! I must admit that during my teenage years i was a bigger fan of Pritam's music and songs and i still listen to them sometimes but as u age ur music preferences also change...and i guess i started liking music which is more detailed, unique, soothing and more matured...and thats when i fell in love with Rahman saab's compositions.
Pritam has produced a plethora of "more detailed, rich, unique" music as well. Sometimes it is a job of the music director to create something that instantly catches the mass attention, and there are other times when they get the liberty to make more layered music. Pritam has done both exceptionally well and that's why he is one of the best along with ARR ofcourse. The sad thing is those catchy mass songs always make more noise, so albums like Jagga, Laal Singh, Tum Mile, Metro often take the backseat
8:17 Hitman Contracts game khelte wkt ek shehnai type ka koi instrument bjta tha. Bhai sahab!! Bda mysterious type ka mtlb kya hi khu. Kya feeling activate kr deta tha na.
3:53 In my case the songs which irritated me after hearing it several times in bus, reels,my nalle frnds singing it again again and evn my neighbours playing it again n again are Kesariya and Raatan lambiyan. These were probably overrated though after some years they might be nostalgic.
That's true....i saw the video and I'm sleeping enjoying some songs and as he said I listened some songs after so many months and i literally heard some new elements🔥🔥✌️
Its very difficult to make music that is timeless. And great composers like Ilayaraja and ARR has made many songs which are timeless. We can never get bored of their music ❤
Bohemian Rhapsody is mein itne chote-chote gaane hain ki ek baar se dil nahi bharta... Baar baar suno to kuch naya sunai padta hai... Aise aur bhi gaane hain... Some of my favs: Paranoid Android - Radiohead A day in life - Beatles Happiness is a warm gun - Beatles Space Oddity - David Bowie Echoes - Pink Floyd

Aapne boht achhe se samjhaya hai music listening ki theory ko. Boht bade level pe nahi but I love singing and I love to notice all the nuances in a song. Minute details and beats that are difficult to catch. Yes you are right..Once we listen to a song many times, its details get rooted in our mind and everytime we listen to it ,we try to discover and learn sth new..New beats or notes or variations.. It gives a whole new kick. My favourite songs have been favourite for 10 years now..But funda ek hi hai gaane ki life long karne ka k usko ussi respect k sath ussi ambiance me ussi frequency k sath sunna jaae jo vo deserve krta hai. Har gaane ka apna zone hai. I agree with you. Art is subjective .

every time I have to listen songs .... i always listen all ar rahmans songs and occasionally govind vasantha's solo covers and some times love songs of annirudh... i have been tuning into munbe vaa, newyork nagaram, thanniye, very late. These songs have been coming to my suggestion on youtube... but ignorring. also mungil thottam... the more you listen ar rahman songs you would realize how legend of an artist he is. old songs of himesh reshamiya, and sometimes harrish jayaraj. now a days thaman s also been giving really beautiful songs... in shot... i listen to ar rahmns alot ... like alot
Same. Rahmaniac❤ I have a full public playlist, everytime listening to it on loop.
Well it's really true that when we start noticing small and subtle elements of a song, we realise how beautifully and carefully they've been made.
Hi bro u r just great ! I have a request , Please talk about the album " Gulzar in conversation with Tagore " .
This is just a masterpiece .
Make a video on Roop Kumar Rathore's Discography please. Very underutilized
👍
I still blush when I hear or listen this song (specially when this phrase comes "kitna kuchh kehna hai phir bhi hain dil mein sawaal kahin" ❤
Talking about one more song of KK sir, "Kal ki hi baat hai" this one just makes me grateful towards him for helping me make beautiful memories.
Itni baar sun liya ki phir 1-2 hafte Tak sunne ka Mann nahi kiya😂😂
Short lived category mein I felt this for Srivalli and Saami Saami song. Dono gazab gaane the but har jagah itni baar baje ki ab agar FM pe bhool se bhi bajta to channel turant change😂😂
Lastly I'd say Thank you Ojesh bhaiya for broadening my mindset of understanding music and letting me know ki pakistani music sunne se deshdrohi nahi bante😅 I was always a big fan of qawalis lekin galti se bhi koi aur sun leta tha to yahi bolta tha ki 'tum Muslim ho kya? Kya shor sunti rehti ho? Pakistan jaana hai? And I used to feel that I shouldn't listen to such music. But since I've been watching your videos, I understood that it's okay to have different taste and it has nothing to do with name of nation or religion. Recently bahot saare achhe Pakistani gaane sune. Ali Sethi, Quratulain Baloch, Noori band has become my favourite. Poora coke studio season 9 + 10 khatam kar liya😂
I wish ki aap kabhi ek video Noori band par banao (featuring Paar Channa de song❤) kyunki they've made so so good songs!
Thank you for introducing me to another underated shreya ghoshal song :)
@@kkstv9238 Did you really hear the song? 😃
Ha bhai same mai bahut time se bol rha tha Rock Metal genre ko touch karne aur first time inhone bola vo bhi mera all time favourite
@@ShieldYoung Haan Bhai finally unhone iss genre ko bhi touch Kiya kuch Aisa genre hai kya ab joh inhone touch na Kiya ho?
@@CrazyStuffWithHershey bahut hai vaise to R&B, Jazz, Blues aur metal me hi kitne subgenre hai jo kaafi alag hai
@@ShieldYoung Yes bhai sahi bola
Bohemian Rhapsody and Stairway to Heaven are among the best songs ever written by anyone ever.
For me the legendary song is tere bin ( hum kahan ke sachey they ) just go and listen to this song man
I dont know anything about composition
But just go and listen
This song gives me goosebumps
This was such an interesting and unique discussion. You explained the theories so well and they were very relatable. Really enjoyed this one 😀
Same goes to Max Payne soundtrack in childhood it was cool but today it is one haunting music bhai is baat pe ek game ke soundtracks pe bhi ek video ban jaata toh 🔥
Yaar he should start to make videos on video game soundtracks, along with anime ones ❤

Listen to 'saibo' song of Shreya Ghoshal and 'agar tum saath ho' song of Arijit Singh. I am sure that these are long lived songs.
Oh yess!
This theory work a lot for me... matlab thode songs jo har roj radio pe aate hai , unhe sun ke mujhe bore aa jaata hai (jaise recently pathaan ke songs) aur ek stage par aisa lagta hai ki yaar ab mujhse nahi hoga. Aur thode songs aise hote hai jo bahut puraane hai par main bahut repeatedly sunti hu. Jitni bar sunti hu unta accha analyse karti hu .... samajhti hu.
Mere kuch favorites jo main bar bar sunti hu
Epudo ninnu (sita ramam)
Humdard(ek villain)
Khairiyat ( chicchore)
Kaun tujhe (ms dhoni)
Roke na ruke naina
Channa mereya ❤❤❤❤

I can never forget the soundtrack of Naruto series(anime) which I watched during COVID. For me it doesn't matter how much good a song is -KK Sonu Nigam Shreya sunidhi Md Rafi Lata ji or anyone else, i get obsessed and over listen nd get bored .I don't have a single song i would like to listen now as I am sick of all the good songs I loved
This happened with me too bhai!
I listened "Dil keh raha hai Dil se" by Adnan Sami..
In that song, behind the violin, a flute is played.. and it's sooooo beautiful that I listen to that part on repeat!!
It's magical ❤
Bro please make a video on sound tracks of video games. Some suggestions 1) God of war Ragnarok
2) God of war 2018
3)Last of us (both parts)
4)Hitman
And there are so many more tha this but can't remember😁
Sir your videos are really really unique....like no one talk about music like this but I always wanted that somebody should make such videos and you are awesome in this. We all need these kind of videos. You explain each and every thing so clearly which might be known to us but we never paid attention to it. Thankyou so much🙏🧡
Video 7--
Sir, I have a video request.
"Hitman Blood Money" have some of the amazing tracks in its series and "Day light in New Orleans" is my all time favourite among those tracks.
This video of yours will be very helpful for those who do not have deep understanding of music. Keep going bro👍
yess this is exactly what i wanted, a general video on how to listen. thank you bhai for listning to your audience. :)
Please...SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS AND OPINION ON BAND "NAALAYAK". THIS BAND SO UNDERRATED

nice perspective.....I think ones audio setup is an important factor to detect nuances in the music. Audiophile grade headphones/iem with proper dac/amp source helps alot to fully enjoy the music. Also the file format (lossless over mp3) matters for critical listening.

Hello Sangeetarist, can you make a video reviewing the beatles? Their music I believe belongs in the long lived category, and is legendary.
Last time I think Ye Aaina tha (wo bhi sabse underrated song of tha album)
Nowadays female singers are disappeared in Bollywood 😢
Yes it's sad. Female singers are almost disappeared from bollywood. They rarely get solo songs . Only Shreya Ghoshal gets solo songs otherwise most female singers get duet songs.
@@hello.667 but what is the reason??
@@atifaslam5411 I don't know bro .Maybe the reason is male patriarchy mindest in Indian society .
When we talk about those singers who ruled a particular era in bollywood music, we say that Kumar Sanu ruled 90's, Arijit Singh ruled this present era of music.
But we generally ignore the contribution of female singers .
People want every sad ,romantic, patriotic songs and serious type of songs in male voice ,item and dance songs are left for female singers.
when are you going to cover Sajjad Ali's music compositions, his legendary work to his coke studio songs!
waiting for it bhai!
The guitar music is so peaceful!!
5:26 finally.. someone told the world about this gem 'Go'❤❤
Channa mereya and tum hi ho, my long lived songs. 🙂🙂
Even I do the same I will take a break and listen to the same song once again or else we tend to forget that song but you are fabulous
Hitman -Jesper Kyd amazing music director ...🔥🔥 My favourite

When u hate childhood song and now u love that song congratulations u are mature now😊😊😊😊😊
