These guys all have the talent… it’s gonna be about how their teams support them. Trevor and Zack went to two awful organizations. Fields has tons of pressure on him in Chicago but he’s 3-1 right now (2-1 in starts). Mac Jones went head to head with Brady last week. Trey has shown glimpses all year, this was his first start it was never gonna be perfect. Let’s keep rooting for all of these guys! Who knows how they would be if the situations were different.

The problem is Shannahan insisted in not giving Trey first team reps during training camp and even after this game he insists in Garoppolo being the starter. We already know what Garoppolo brings to the table & it's not much better than what Trey showed today. It's just sad bro, Kyle would rather loose with Jimmy than build off this game with Trey.

If The 49ers would've ran more than they did to help the rookie Q.B out especially in the red zone or on the 40 and 30 yard line...the 49ers would've won the game...but Shanahan don't want a QB controversy for this particular season because he don't want to hurt Jimmy G's trade value. I get that Lance can run but why take away the threat of him handing the ball off? Went from a team based on play action to shotgun with a guy who primarily played under center in college. If Shanahan changes the identity of the game that much with Trey then there's no way he gives us a chance to win. It just trips me out that they had Beathard and Mullens and they ran the same offense...it looked like the same 9ers team we just threw more because we were always behind. He throw the ball way more accurately then Lance especially down field and on the run. And when he take off running he protects himself and get down the right way . Lance keep running like this in 4 years it's gonna be hard for him to stay on the field because he gonna away be injured. Trey Lance made a few great throws and a couple nice runs. He must improve his overall accuracy, decision making on when to run, and pass trajectory (had a few passes batted down). The Niners' play calling needs to get better because him running all those draws, scrambling, etc. were not effective.

I thought he looked great today. 1st start against an unbeaten team on the road and he showed his athleticism and potential. He’s raw but the talent is definitely there. His worse play wasn’t the pick but the run and dive at the goal line where he could’ve really gotten hurt. I think he could have dumped that pass for a td if he had kept his eyes up before contact. Go niners!

Trey Lance only had three bad throws in his first start. The rest of the incompletions were throw aways or great defense, via coverage or pressure, along with the drops by Samuel & Sanu.
    The Three Bad Throws:
    - The INT obviously: Too high, when he should have had the checkdown
    - To Samuel inside the 10, has to put it on him instead of low and away
    - The high throw in the 4th to Aiyuk.
Lance still has to work on settling his big arm down on throwing high. But his accuracy is much better than the likes of Chris Simms tries to portray.
This is really impressive considering his only one year of starting at NDSU, and having that season be two years ago.

The play where Trey Lance was stopped short of making into the endzone, I thought if he could fake lowering and then dive above the tacklers, maybe that would got him in the endzone. I also think there are bad play calls by Shanahan...like on 4th and 1...he let the fullback snap and try to force his way through the defenders...I thought that was a bad play. ...should just let Trey Lance run left or right...he's usually successful. Anyway, despite the loss, I rather see Trey Lance than Jimmy G. Trey just make your offense more lethal with his legs. He just need to get comfortable with the offense. There are couple times receivers are not helping him by dropping hard perfect passes.
