I love how they show Bandit playing with his girls, and enjoys play acting with them. "Ladies and gentlemen, I am doing this for my kids" is the best line ever!
I love how realistically parents are portrayed in this show. We perceive our parents as being invincible, and don't see that they're merely human beings until we're much older. Bandit admitting his flaws is refreshing to see in a kids' show. We should all have parents like Chili and Bandit.
I'm not a parent, but I have worked with kids and I volunteer at a crisis daycare. I personally believe that it's best to admit to a child that you don't know the answer to their question, as it shows that adults don't know everything and that's OK
You’re exactly right. When the kids play rough with their parents sometimes they never mean anything bad of it they just look at them like they’re invincible and know-it-alls and don’t realize that they’re also people who have their likes, dislikes, boundaries, and don’t know everything and that they aren’t perfect. That’s the thing kids should definitely understand at some point.
I love how Bandit stays in character when playing with his daughters, no matter what awkward situations it puts them in. And how even when he messes up, he owns up to it, learns from it, and let's his daughter's know it. It's no wonder he earned the Dad of the Year award in 2019.
Bandit is an archaeologist, has a cute wife, two adorable girls, is funny, played by an Aussie punk rock star, and he has an Aussie accent. We can all stop looking: we found the world’s coolest dad!
Bandit is more of a Paleontologist. Your point still stands, just picking a point for accuracy. [And fun little factoid, it's implied especially in one of the mini-webisodes that he's not just any Paleontologist but one of the world's best Paleontologists. Pat is amazing. He's always pulled into these wacky situations and yet never hesitates to play along, except for Pass the Parcel, which he has a point on
For me, my favorite Bandit moment has to be in Duck Cakes, I know how it feels to work so hard and mess up. The way he covered his face turns around and sinks to the floor. Then that smile when he realizes Bluey helped clean the mess and suggest they make the head out of the neck of the Duck Cake, also I doubt it's what they had in mind, but when Bandit screams out "Duck Cake!" My mind immediately goes to what my mom used to say when I was younger and screws something up, it's more or less, F*ck Sake, ik it's not what they put in ,but I thought that was funny
I think for a lot of adult Bluey lovers, Bandit is absolutely perfect for healing the inner child in us who either don't have fathers or good fathers, myself being the second one
Bandit is probably one of, if not, the greatest cartoon Dad’s. He always goes above and beyond for his girls. What an amazing dad Bluey and Bingo have.
Yeah, hopefully they will someday appreciate all these stuff he has been doing for them. Maybe when they’re older, because for now they’re just silly kids who don’t understand what „sympathy” means…
@@susankornas2613just imagine when they learn about other kids that aren’t as fortunate as them to have parents that love them. Kids who have parents that are abusive or neglectful or don’t even have parents at all. I’m sure their love for their parents will grow drastically.
@@Magulousmous You’re right! For example, I headcanon that Judo doesn’t have the best relations with her own father (Wendy’s ex), so maybe there could be an episode about it, where Bluey and Bingo realise how lucky they are having such dad like Bandit. And maybe also try to defend Judo from her abusive dad!
Bin Night is another excellent example of Bandit and Chilli communicating well with their children and parenting as a team. When Bingo is talking about what happened during the school day, Bandit doesn’t rush to give Bingo advice. Instead, he just listens and lets Bingo be heard while validating her feelings. Then, it’s clear that he’s discussing what he heard with Chilli after the girls have been put to bed, because in the following scenes the morning after, Chilli steps in to offer Bingo advice on what to do in the situation. Another takeaway is appreciating the little moments with your loved ones. At the end of the episode when Bluey is thinking about being a scientist when she grows up she says “Maybe I can invent a robot that takes out the bins for you.”, to which Bandit responds “Oh, I hope not!” This shows that he cherishes the time that he’s able to spend with his daughters and be a parent to them, even during a mundane activity like taking out the garbage bins.
Bandit really is a great dad. I love how he commits to his role on every game completely, even if it embarrasses him immensly. Wendy is one character that can testify that, as she is normally the one that ends up finding Bandit in awkward situations because of his kids' antics, resulting in the famous catchphrase "Morning, Wendy".
I love Wendy and Pat ("Lucky's Dad") because they live on either side of the Heelers and are most exposed to the family's antics, but they usually just roll with it. Wendy might hesitate a bit but she absolutely rolled with it in Sheepdog, especially when she found out Chilli needed 20 minutes. And Pat commits to the bit just as much as Bandit does, and I love it.
@@Linaxtic Pat is the neighbor that rolls with it completely, maybe because he is close friends with Bandit. But Wendy is that type of neighbor that gets a little disturbed by the antics of the family living next door (at least in the first two seasons).
@@rafaelmatos5851she just doesn’t really understand what it’s like for a kid to grow up with such a fun loving dad. I mean where’s Judo’s dad? Is he not in the picture? No wonder.
My dad also fully committed to the bit when playing games with me when I was little. He was a theater kid, so that's probably why, but there's also a video of him giving me my first music lesson when I was less than a year old. Man, I love my dad
I love how he commits to the games his kids play. Like when Bluey and Bingo had those asparagus and feather wands. I also love how he teaches them life lessons in his own way, Chilli does a great job at doing that too.
Amazing how Bluey would have turned out if Bandit stayed like he was in the unofficial pilot. Or Chilli for that matter. Just comes to show that the route they took to make the parents in Bluey not only realistic, but also relatable is uncanny valley to me. This really is an amazing show and every adult wanting to be parents should watch Bluey as a guideline for parenting.
Always love it when a show actually has loving parents instead of ones that constantly bicker. He's on the level of Richard Watterson in terms of being a great father
Funny fact: The actor who voices bandit (David McCormack) is in a band called Custard. But what ties this with Bluey is that the instrumental opening to their song “Pinball Lez” is used for the pilot.
it's a smaller moment, but the end of yoga ball always gets me. bandit is almost exactly like my dad (middle of three boys, got kids when he was older, two kids, etc) but when bingo tells bandit that he's playing too rough with her, he stops and reflects and tests out a system to let him know he's going too far. my dad always just told me to stop being dramatic. it was a genuinely incredibly healing and eye-opening experience to see how bandit handled it. i always knew i didn't want to be like my own father if i ever get to be a dad, but bandit (in yoga ball and all other mentioned moments) had me taking mental notes on what i *did* want to be like. (coincidentally, i'm currently studying to be an archaeologist. so curry swap also got me sobbing my eyes out, knowing that i'd probably have to be away for longer periods of time, too.)
This show is definitely one of the best things to come out of my home country in the last few years. The amount of times I've watched this show without my kids in the room or even in the house just to lift my mood I can't remember but this adorable show never fails to put a smile on my face and make my heart feel that little less heavy.
This show is filled with so many sweet and wonderful characters, but bandit is my absolute favorite by far! He puts his whole heart into everything he does, and is heart is always in the right place! He's a wonderfully written character and I wish I could just give him a big ol' hug!

What strikes me as most realistic is in the episode Baby Race, when we see how tired he is. As a baby, you don't realize how tiring you can be to your parents. Especially, when we see Bandit trying to nap anytime he can, or when he's carrying baby Bluey singing and trying to help her fall asleep.
One of my favorite Bandit commitment moments is when Bingo is using a “magic feather” to make things heavy. Bandit is carrying a box of cereal and pretends that it is so heavy, he is trying to pry the box from the ground with a broom and is shouting for Bluey to ear her bowl of cereal on the ground XD
Many of Bandits characteristics are a lot like my own father. Seeing the way Bandit is with his daughters is very reminiscent of my own childhood; which was made wonderful by my parents flawed but loving rearing of us. The best part is, my dad is my adoptive father and he never treated me any different from any other kid in the family. I love you dad❤
My favorite thing about Bandit and Chilli is that they let them have fun as much as they want but they also know when to reel them in and tell them to slow down
That’s rare cuz they have a huge tolerance for how things are played cuz they love and care so much about their happiness that they always put it before themselves even if it were to hurt or embarrass them. But they know the kids have no bad intentions otherwise they wouldn’t play along cuz that’s teaching them to be bad.
I remember the first time I saw this show I had no idea what this show was about but when I first saw bandit I felt this overwhelming goal to become a father just like him
I love this clip when Bandit picks up Bluey from the park while she and her friends are pretending to be out at sea and he just grabs her while pretending to be an octopus.
One of my favorite moments is when Bandit shows his love for Chili. Despite her quirk of eating sardines and Chili tolerates Bandit's quirks in "Smoochy Kiss". I love how this show teaches kids imagination, teaches parents how to commit family and wok and also teaches how to treat your significant other.

5:30 I just wanna vent rq so dont mind me This moment made me cry a little. I have issues with patience so I tend to cut people off. It's a bad habit Ive been trying to get rid of but it's really hard. One of the reasons I cut people off is because I feel like they'll talk over me and ignore what I have to say. It just kinda fuels the habit more. Seeing Bandit help Bluey to find a way for her to let him know she wants to say something is really touching. I wish I had something like that growing up or even right now. But at least I can do it for my sister.
I love Bluey especially when a bird dies and Bandit comforts Bluey. I also love when he tries her and Bingo's food but he gets sick and turns green, but at least he gave it a try. My favorite episodes are the yes no button where Bluey presses no a lot, lol, and where she tries to ride her bike and sees the other girls struggling with things on the playground. Bandit encourages her to keep trying after seeing the other girls successfully accomplish their monkey bars, water fountain and backpack struggles, so adorable 😃😍❤️. But, I love all Bluey episodes, I just need to watch season 3 after finishing season 2.
this guy is the best Cartoon dad EVER, PERIOD no can can be better than him!!!! Much better than Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin, Bob Belcher, Hank Hill, Stu Pickles (he's a great dad though also), Mr.Turner, Marlin in Finding Nemo, and just as good as Randy Marsh!!! 🙂
Something that I think needs to be highlighted about #7 on this list is how Bandit praises Bluey for her progress after using the tool he provided her, even though she was still being disruptive and impolite. A lot of parents make the mistake of only scolding their kids when they do something bad or wrong, regardless of how hard the child tried to behave or how much they’re improving over time. It’s always important, in my opinion, to fully acknowledge how difficult many things can be for children (such as waiting and being patient) and to praise them when they are doing better than they did before, even if it’s only a minor improvement. If you focus too much on what your kid is doing wrong, they might end up believing that they’ll never be good enough no matter how hard they try.

Bandit and Chilli and the dad and mum we need but don't deserve
I've been waiting for this! 🥰
The way how the father and mother are positively portrayed is the reason is why I loved Bluey in the first place
This show is a comfort show
“Airport.. I’m not going to the airport”
Bandit is the best animated father
In a world full of Homer Simpsons and Peter Griffins, be a Bandit
Bandit is the kind of dad I want to be when I have kids
Bandit is the dad im trying to be for my kids. He's an inspiration to be better for my family
It's for all these reasons that I think Bandit is the best character on the show.
Bandit is my spirit animal
This show is too good and I love it!
Thats the thing a bout dads. They're the best! My dad always says he's perfect lol. One time it was useslessly perfect lol
The best and most funniest thing Bandit did was when he said “Dad enters the room” from the episode Born Yesterday
It suits him
I just wish I had a father like bandit
0:56 Bandit: 🤢 (minus the green) 😂😂
this guy is the best Cartoon dad EVER, PERIOD no can can be better than him!!!! Much better than Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin, Bob Belcher, Hank Hill, Stu Pickles (he's a great dad though also), Mr.Turner, Marlin in Finding Nemo, and just as good as Randy Marsh!!! 🙂
The reason Bandit trying to be a good dad maybe it's a redemption for being a bad sibling
0:58 “she’s a blue healer” it’s funny because it’s true
If only more dads were like Bandit Heeler. :)
My nieces love this show I love it too❤
I love your Bluey too 10s! Please do more❤
