"Juzcar has changed a lot since the Smurfs came to town. Before,this was a quiet village that not many people knew about, and since the Smurfs arrived we've had many more visitors. In the last year we've had thousands of people coming here."

"In terms of business and commerce the village has really benefited and acquired a far higher profile . One, one and a half or two years ago we had five businesses in the village or maybe six. But with the increase of people coming here and its reputation spreading little by little people have started up more businesses. And these days we have 19 companies."

"When we were a white village people came for the countryside, people came for the birds, people came for mushroom hunting, the walks - just the relaxation. And because if you think the village is full of people you won't come for these reasons because it is not tranquil, it's not peaceful and your views are obstructed by all those people so it's not quite the same. So we have lost some of that traffic."

"The Smurfs have brought a lot of creativity into my cooking. Firstly, the blue colour - especially in deserts. We now have blue cakes, crepes and blue drinks. And also because of the link between the Smurfs and mushrooms - because they live in mushrooms in a magic forest, I have added more mushrooms to my menu."

"I've come to Juzcar for the first time because I've seen a lot of publicity on the internet and I was curious to see what the blue village would actually be like. And what sort of welcome I'd get here from the local people, the promoters, the shop keepers. - and of course to get to know first hand a Smurf town. I'm very satisfied with this visit and would recommend it to everyone."
