A very fascinating expatriate-living vlog you have here! You are a splendid narrator & host! Even with the videos being from a strand of years ago, I still visit & revisit your channel's content, from time to time. I certainly hope that you have been doing well & fine in recent times.
Thank you! Yes the perceptions are negative. I hope what I show can tell a different story to the one big news media outlets keep repeating. Too much negative out there. We need to show the great things and there are many!
I love seeing people exploring my country, seeing it from their perspective, makes me appreciate it more. There lots of other malls too, victoria mall in entebbe, village mall in bugolobi(planet yoghurt is a must visit while ur there) are one of the other top malls though ofcourse acacia takes the cake. I'd have pizza for breakfast anytime!!1
Oh that's so nice to hear Meena! We are really enjoying getting to know Kampala. Have not been to Victoria Mall yet but have been to Village Mall and Garden City also. I must try the Yogurt at Planet Yogurt. I've only been to Brood and Java House there. Yes pizza for breakfast is just a win-win isn't it! LOL LOL Hope you are well!
No one should ever need someone to feel complete because we should all feel complete as individuals. But it is very nice to share your life with someone. I am very blessed to have met my husband. We help each other in life. It is a great thing!! Thanks for watching!
I like Amy's pizza. Ever heard of it? It was named after their daughter. They make vegetarian and vegan foods. The pizza crust is a rice crust. Really tasted. Glad, you're having fun exploring the place you live.
Too many people believe crap like that. That's why I am showing people through my videos what major news outlets in Western countries never shows them.
That sort of misty, foggy, cloud cover thing was what we say in Cape Town. We went to the top of Table Mountain hoping to get this fantastic photos and you could only see about 1 meter and half in front of you, maybe. But it eventually cleared up and the view was outstanding. So Pizza for breakfast? Not really unusual actually. When I was an undergrad, pizza was breakfast many a morning. And lets not talk about the infamous pizza bones. That stuff adorned many a table along with stuff you were supposed to have studied the night before. Ahhh, those were the days. :) Anyway, in the place you're living now, it seems like the rooms are perfect for music. Are you getting a difference in the inspiration for song writing when you can listen to what your heart is saying? Just wondering what kinds of things you have to snatch from the air to turn them into music. (Listen to me trying to speak all jazzy and stuff) lol. Anyway Nat, just want you to know one of your longest running fans is always praying for you and is always listening. I can always hear you. One more question, have you driven yet? :p
The mornings here can be so stunning when the sun is just rising and the mist is hanging in the valley where we live. I've never seen anything quite so magical. You sort of have to see it with your own eyes to appreciate the true beauty of it. I hope to visit SA one day and see Table Mountain. It seems a lot like San Francisco! I'm so glad you got to visit there! Oh yah pizza for breakfast is so much fun. You know I sort of took a break from most of my music activities since moving here. I am not sure if you read my new bio that I wrote myself about what I have been exploring in my life. I have been heads down doing music, forsaking everything else for so long that I have needed a break. This move, the experiences I am having, are definitely filling my creative cup back up. I just need to live life in the moment and breathe in right now. I'm still doing some Film/TV work but totally evaluating my life and my musical path. But the space and freedom I have here in Uganda is allowing me to come back to life so to speak. I will tell you this, I have been enjoying not having to turn anything into anything... I have been selfishly just relishing in my magical moments here and breathing them so deeply into my soul. It's truly felt so wonderful for me. I wrote more about what I have been going through here: natalie-brown.com/biography/ natalie-brown.com/food-is-more-important-than-music/ Thanks so much for asking about that. I'm still in a place of exploration with it all and my next steps in my creative life. I appreciate your steadfast support and prayers. Nope, still haven't driven. To qualify for a drivers permit we have to take driving lessons for a while and get certified to drive here... so it will be like being 15 all over again I guess. In time we'll sort it out, but for now it's Uber!
Hello young man! Yeah it's kind of a hold over from Colonial times. I guess once it started, no builder wanted to be the first not to have it. Same with bars on all the windows and 'compounds'. Kinda 'low tech' security systems instead of what we have in North America with the wired house alarm systems that you can control from your phone.
Was it Robert Frost who wrote a poem about how fences make good neighbors? I think so. He probably would agree that walls make even better neighbors, and that walls topped with barbed wire make the best neighbors in the world. That's comforting thought, in its own way.
Around Uganda towns, walls have barbed (razor) wire and sometimes broken glass to keep out intruders. They are cheaper than hiring night security which was also common back in the day..
Natalie Brown haha you even know our slangs lol great we don’t knw to hurt foreigners we treat them with care but if you dont mind my question y do most people ov you color treat Black pipo sooooo bad
Hi Sarah dear. I have tried to learn some Luganda and Rukiga while here and am trying to learn as much as I can generally as I make my life in Uganda. It's very difficult to answer that question about why some Caucasians will treat some Black people badly because I am not one of those people, so I cannot make sense of it myself. I think there are people who treat others very badly in this world and personally I don't stand for it. But I have seen it happen, even to my husband who is Ugandan when we lived in the USA and Canada. I wish I could answer the question for you because if we could know the answer then maybe we could stop racism. It's a complex discussion. Though people of every ethnicity treat some other people from other ethnicities badly, I have found there is a disproportionate amount of dangerous ignorance in the Caucasian population in my personal experience. I personally think the problem stems from pure lack of exposure and ignorance. Though no one in Uganda has been violent towards me, I find there are cultural or ethnic stereotypes held by Ugandans about Bazungu which are very incorrect. Living here has taught me that people of an ethnic group who are not exposed to other people of another ethnic group can have stereotypes and sometimes those stereotypes lead to racism, tribalism, sexism and all the other "isms". I think the more we try to be with each other as humans and try to hear where someone is coming from, how they think about the world, etc., the more we will banish racism. When you shine light (knowledge) into darkness (ignorance), you can no longer be afraid. Those are just my quick thoughts though. It's really a big discussion. I hope you are safe and well dear and that you will visit home soon once this crisis is over. Much love from us in Uganda.
nice watching this , but am wondering why the tax driver louded the car Radio , was it by your permission? am just disturbed why he let the radio play yet u inside the car! if you permitted it then its okay if not, never hire him again !

He did indeed' "Good fences make good neighbors."
But he didn't have cows. I have cows! AND a cute goat. 😂😂😂
Around Uganda towns, walls have barbed (razor) wire and sometimes broken glass to keep out intruders. They are cheaper than hiring night security which was also common back in the day..
That is very true. It is much more cost efficient. And it's good to recycle the glass in that way.
