    JASO MB engine oil / scooter oil will work better on your scooter rather than the one you use on this video.

      @@arjitagrawal4240 JASO MA2 lubricant (eg. motul 5100) for bikes with wet clutch, which needs extra acceleration since anti-slip clutch additive added. JASO MA2 is not fit on scooter since the engine hidden induce higher engine temperature excalete higher friction thus it needs friction modifier additive added lubricant. If it's hard to find JASO MB lubricant, you may use 10w40 engine oil, API SJ or higher. it would good enough for the Suzuki Address scooter.

Even though many official Suzuki motorbike dealers have closed in Indonesia, getting spare parts is still very easy here.

    New to scooters and thinking about buying this model in Thailand.
    A few questions -
    1) Does the bike require valve adjustment as well? If so, is it locknut or shim. I'm assuming locknut.
    2) What's the secondary short lever for on the left (I assume the left lever is rear brake like a bicycle)?
    Awesome video. Will come in handy should I choose this or a similar model. Also looking at the Fazzio.

      Hi. This bike will need the valve clearances checking occasionally. If they need adjusting, they are of a locknut type. It’s very easy to adjust them, but they rarely need adjustment anyway. The left lever is for the rear brake. There short lever in front of that is to allow you to lock the rear brake on if you need to. Perhaps if you’re facing downhill etc. it acts like the hand-brake in a car. I hope that helps. These Suzuki scooters are excellent 👍

    • @MechitBetter
      @MechitBetter  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries. The holes are just about 5.5mm so a 5mm pin is the thickest you could go if you want to use the holes. The disc is so small that I sometimes lock mine through the larger tear shaped holes in the centre. If you’re doing that then you could probably go bigger, but 5mm should be fine 👍

      The scooters are certainly easy enough to ride and work on but the GS or something similar makes longer distance easier. Tough decision! How about the Kawasaki Versys 300? That looks like a nice bike. Or even a bigger scooter? The Kawasaki J300 looks good. Best of both worlds 👍

    Good guide, though you should have mentioned that there is a small 0-ring that sits between the oil filter and the engine that can come out attached to the oil filter, it's important to check this has not happened and if so then put the O-ring back in place on the engine, using a clean screwdriver passed through the O-ring as a guide.

      Hi, sorry for the late reply. The official schedule says you should inspect the valves every 4000km and replace the spark plug every 8000km. In the real world I would imagine that you could just inspect and adjust the valves when you change the spark plug every 8-10 thousand KM. the valves clearances rarely need any adjustment 👍

    Drain the gear oil on the side stand, not the center stand. When filling the gear oil put the bike back on the center stand. If the gear oil starts to leak out of the filller hole you have the correct amount of gear oil in the housing.

    Hi thank you for the videos they’ve helped me out on my address on many occasions.
    installed a new battery about a month ago but today my address won’t start on the button ? Just wondered if there was anything I could check ?

    • @MechitBetter
      @MechitBetter  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a multimeter you can check the voltage before you start it. It should be around 12.7v if it’s fully charged. Anything near 12.2v is low. Then if possible, see what the voltage dips to as you try to start the bike. If it drops drastically then the battery could be damaged. It has been cold though, and the battery is only tiny on the Address. Cold weather will make it harder to start so the battery needs to be well charged. Of course, it could be a different problem entirely. What symptoms are you getting?

I'm guessing after about 1k miles, am i in the right ball park?

      Ah cool. The address is an excellent bike. Mines been faultless and really fun to ride. Around 120mpg too! There’s an excellent facebook group (see link below) that’s a great source of information. Regarding your service though, the first one is an oil and filter change at 600 miles, plus some inspections of various things. Next one is 2500 miles, then every 2500 miles thereafter. Valve clearances are supposed to be inspected/adjusted at each service interval. All this info is in the handbook if you were given one? It’s really useful and details a lot of the maintenance and service jobs. Let me know if you need any more info 👍

    Amazing tutorial, thankyou for making step by step video.
    I just want to ask some questions.
    1. When i am pressing right brake, a sound is coming from tyre side i guess (sound like metal clanging, not sure how to tell it :p ) , so do i need to worry about this ?
    2. Which tools do i need to buy in order to open nuts and change engine oil/filter ? (I do not want to buy unnecessary tools).
    3. How to replace front light bulb ? (present one no more working). And which size/name bulbs i need to buy ?
    Thankyou.

    • @MechitBetter
      @MechitBetter  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Arjit. Thanks for your questions.
      Yes I would be concerned about the noise from your brakes. They should be silent. Can you upload/send a video of the noise?
      My apologies but I can’t remember exactly which size tools I used, but I think I mentioned the sizes in this video. In any case, a simple socket set will cover everything you need and be really useful for other maintenance jobs.
      The front light bulb is hidden behind the front panel. I have a video here which shows you how to remove that. The main headlight is a 12v 35/35w (HS1) bulb, which is held in I think with a wire clip. Once you’ve removed the front panel, you should be able to see how it’s removed.
      I hope that helps. If you have any more questions, give me a shout 👍

      If you are experiencing strange brake noises when riding, my advice would be to take the bike to a professional mechanic and let them look at the problem. Being able to brake is the most important thing!
      The bulb you need is a 12v/5w sidelight bulb. The holder is just pushed in to the light unit. Remove the front panel and pull out the holder, then pull out the bulb from the holder to replace 👍
