I had the same problem with two Raceseng shift knobs. Could never get them to stay in place. After wasting several hundred dollars, I ended up reverting to OEM.

I replaced my upper timing cover with one of the aluminum units after I replaced the gasket and found the cover to to be slightly warped.

Did you keep the aluminum or go to a different one?

Ha VW a 2012 gti myself.
Those same issues with the rear hatch VW paint and front finder and lower chase water drip rust.
Def having it repainted. Since I’ve done timing and all the prentarive maintenance 😢

I love my MK6. I currently have the same oil leak from the upper timing chain cover gasket. Its a 2010 with only 88k on it, that I've had for three and a half years since 61k. For the window issue, I'm pretty sure you have to reset the switch somehow, and it will fix your issue with the one touch up/down for the driver side. Cheers!

just grabbed one of these to go with my mk7 R. The fenders and rear hatch have the same rust. got the car for under 3k 115k miles with great paperwork and definetly looking to get the rust fixed ASAP. sweet content though definitely dropping the sub

Window switch issue, try unplugging it and plugging it back in, I was going to use my dmm to try to diagnose the issue before ordering a new switch, but decided to give it a try then it fixed the issue, has been good for about a year now. Worth the 10-15 mins.
