    You are inspiring me to chop a few Hoyas. Your obavata and fish tail Hoyas look so nice and will be so much fuller! 💚

    That linearis is going to be SO FULL a year from now😂 I started with THREE strands a year and a half ago, haven't propagated it since, and it branched out all on its own all over the place! I have AT LEAST 20 strands now that are all at least a foot long ( most of them even longer)! These babies grow like gang busters! I can't wait to see what that one looks like next summer!

    Ooh, I have not propagated any of my hoyas yet. I heard they do like to be cut though! Can’t wait to see future updates. :)

    Beautiful Hoyas. My favourite is the Obovata. I got mine recently and it looks gorgeous. My experience with Hoya is that the young leaves take some time to harden. To check for succulency, look at the mature leaves.
    If the mature leaves are soft despite watering, I could be root rot

      Those were the mature leaves I was showing. They were never hardened.

      @@RootingMindfully You probably have already checked the root system. In that case all is good then🙂

    When you repotted your Hoyas, did they freak out? I have repotted a few and they died. Idk if it was me. Lol my Hoya polyneura shipped to me bare root ball. It was in the mail two weeks, this could be the problem, but I was wondering if it could be that Hoyas hate being repotted. At any case, some leaves are yellowing and I have some new growth points. I did get a few cuttings. I did water, perlite, and sphagnum moss propagation. The water ones are still thriving 2 weeks later.
    Did you disrupt the root ball? I want to change the soil on my polyneura.

    • @RootingMindfully
      @RootingMindfully  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I repot mine all the time and they are fine. I don’t mess with the root ball. I just plop it into the pot. And fill in the soil if it needs extra. But I repot mine all the time and have no issues. Two weeks is a long time for a bare root plant.

      @@RootingMindfully ok. Good to know.
      It was imported from Poland. I think that plant will be ok. Since it is starting to grow. I’m thinking it needed to acclimate.
      I have some other Hoyas that I want to change from the nursery pot. Thanks for your help.

    • @RootingMindfully
      @RootingMindfully  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yeah that’s far. It would definitely need to acclimate. I’ve only purchased Hoyas in the states so they aren’t traveling far. And I only disturb the roots if I don’t like the media it’s in. But I think your plant should be fine. I noticed the polyneura doesn’t like as much light as other Hoyas.

      @@Mslittaaaaa yes mine grew but the baby leaves turned yellow and fell off. I had it under a grow light too. So I moved it. No more yellow leaves.

      Yeah they are terrible with plant care. I found one that wasn’t over watered and it’s beautiful. I guess you just have to get there early lol

    Ayana, why does everyone like Hoyas? I haven't tried them at all yet....😂

    • @RootingMindfully
      @RootingMindfully  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      🤷🏾‍♀️ from my experience they have been pretty easy plants to take care of. And the varieties that they come in is very interesting. I tend to like the common ones. They are much cheaper and readily available. Plus I like the way they look better than some of the uncommon and rare ones.

    Thanks for this video. I haven’t tried propagating Hoyas yet. Wanted to learn more about it first. Lookin forward to updates on them and how long it takes to root them. 💚🌿🪴🌱💚
