Got paralyzed about a decade ago in my 20s and damn this electric revolution is bittersweet. I can walk with leg braces and forearm crutches, and I rode a Segway before, but the electric wheels and electric dirt bikes 😱 magical tech. I often think about throwing in the towel and just committing. Pretty sure I could ride one, but not crashing is that hard part
If you try hard you can do it there are wheels that you can ride while sitting if you have good control of your torso you can... Just think that in Italy there is a boy who has been blind since birth and rides a monowheel..
Great video! Seems like one of the biggest benefits of this over the Lynx wouldn't even necessarily be jumping ability - it would be the ability to deal with "washed-out" single tracks & paths where the sides are too high/steep/narrow to pass with anything else (e.g. - need to dismount and walk through tight spots, or expect to get clipped and thrown off).
Dude for sure I should have mentioned that! That is the biggest thing I loved for those "U" shaped rutted out trails. Lift this thing up and those pedals are higher than the rocks, roots and the sides of the trails themselves in some cases. Great point, that is a huge benefit of the apex I should have definitely mentioned.
dam it is looks great imagine swapping the dnm shox with some ext or fox something good prob will be insane thank you chooch mabye thanks to you ill get my first euc the biggest problem for me is no stores or where to take care with experts of this in my country
I weigh 155, got the stiff suspension setup, I think 70 or 72 lbs setup, I bottom mine out a lot. 90 mm ain't much, that's supposed to have 150 mm, 140 mm on safe side. That's a lot of extra distance.
@@trowland9575 Yes that is true, but for me 90 mm is already more than enough. I am shorter than most rider so 90mm is already near my limit. If the suspension is at 150mm I wouldn't be able to ride it comfortably. Still though, I would choose the apex over the lynx that's only if my lynx somehow breaks and becomes irreparable.
@darkstar4494 various, but hitting 4 to 5 ft high and if landing on decline fine but every once in a while overshoot and land on flat surface and get the bottom out then. 3ft or less landing on flat surface fine for not bottoming out at my weight (155lbs).
Such a great design, can absolutely blast off with acceleration. however terrible in snow I found out yesterday XD. Was goofing in the driveway and was sliding around, and skidded out with my ankle in there. Got super lucky I didn't mess it up or break it, ankle is all swole up today so it was close to being bad .. Need shallow pads for snow to escape for a crash or slide out quickly.
I will for sure try to! I will see if jack can get one to me maybe a little earlier. That would be sweet. Because I absolutely love the falcon and this just looks like a beast mode, well built falcon. I want to try the aero so bad!!
I was thinking about getting this but went with the patton s. Maybe i fumbled? Im brand new so the adjustments/customizations of this wheel seemed intimidating
nah you did good, the patton S is perfect size to start on and keep for years. Its plenty of speed and range and a much smaller package. This Apex is a pretty big wheel. You made a good choice with the patton s.
lynx suspension is more plush right? i don’t jump so im not concerned about travel. Also, is the apex minimum pedal height lower than lynx pedal height?
Yes the lynx suspension is plusher than this with the coil suspension, but with air suspension in the apex they would be almost the same. And you can get the pedal height way lower on the apex than the lynx.
So many options, maybe get the Begode falcon as a first wheel. That's what I would recommend to any beginner. Also its a fantastic wheel for even after you upgrade, its so much fun. The perfect price, easy to ride, very light weight. Start with the begode Falcon.
@@choochtech I really appreciate your feedback, man. I was hoping to hear something from the expert himself. I’ve been wanting to get into this as a hobby, so I’m looking forward to investing into what you recommend.
@@robzo87 Yea the lil falcon is so much fun, perfect starting wheel. Its not expensive either. It looks great, built well, and has suspension. It comes with two sets of springs too to pick how plush you want the suspension. Start with that wheel and you will not be disappointed.
I'm thinking between this and the Lynx. I did see where someone was reviewing the Apex and said the shock sliders on the sides got a bunch of dust and dirt in them and they ceased up. Did you have that problem? I loved your video you did ripping up the roads in Denver.
He never made a claim of ceasing up I think, but just that the sliders had dust. These sliders are meant in a way to continuous disperse lubricant onto the stanchion to help with suspension, but it will not just naturally leak and drip.
@@official.electricdreams On the video " APEX Hard Truths " on the ElectricUnicycles channel at the 9:00 min mark Marty talks about seal drag. That is one of my hesitations with getting this wheel. I just want to know if this or the Lynx is the best choice for me.
, i already have lynx. Broke all my other eucs before 2000 miles (s22,v12ht,master,extreme). Have 3000 on lynx and not one problem after much abuse. Just changed tire from original. So I know lynx is durable, cause I give them hell.
whats the range tho? i need to go 35 miles... :( If i tone it down and go 25mph, would it last? I live north of Denver, and have to abandon my car at DIA once in a while. I imagine it compares to the Lynx.. Also, what tire is that?
I have unit 09/100 you have 11/100 Founders Edition I think? I have been practicing my 160lb noob butt with the exact same height three teeth on top so ankles are at the center too. Would you please post what coil shock you upgraded to and what tire please. Do you think the Fox Racing motion x boots would be okay? I am using the Kinetic DL Electric Unicycle Shoes and they dont protect my legs as much as I want and in the snow my shoes slip when the petals get caked. Thanks for the informative videos bro!
Did you figure out the Mode setting? Do you run with any negative angle? Did you set PWM to 79% or 81%? Any acceleration assist? I would love to know every setting you are running yours at.

Omg I think this is my next wheel.! I own a S-22 Pro now…just switched the tire to a knobby. This Apex is a beast!! Oh my!
It is seriously a fun wheel, it is 10x better than the s22 in every way. You will love it. Big upgrade from the s22 pro.

Wonder how easy it is to disassemble and work on this in case something breaks?
seems like nosfet is like the only company right now who knows what riders want...
all the wheels I would consider are begode
