I miss that, I was stationed at Ft Ord it was light infantry so birds were out duce's. Then I got shipped to Knox and suddenly the ride got a lot bumpier! 😂👍🎧⛏️🇺🇸
I absolutely would be in literal heaven if I could be out there doing that and meeting good folks! , but I'm disabled and in a Convalescent Hospital recovering from a broken spine with complications and recently got a cut I didn't know I had that turned into a mrsa infection in my foot that got into the bones and blood, so without boring you further, I sure envy you all in a good way and wish you the best!
I wonder if I was the ONLY one yelling out loud-"Chigg!! No!! Not a metal trowel!" ........But, then, I quickly realized that, no, it's a plastic one! Anyway- I'm really enjoying this recent series of Western videos from you Beau. I am holding My Breath though for a return to Maine and another Capt. Billy series!!
Cool you got gold! Trip paid for! Love the desert lived in Arizona for years! Thx for the walk about Beau! Brings back memories of me and my White 40 years ago, I use a newer one now it’s only 30 years old and still finding me stuff, just less of a chance to go and I’m in Illinois now and no open range. Keep on truckin Chigg!
Hi Buddy, just came across your channel. I live in Australia and all day I have been clued to watching your vlogs. Amazing to watch. The walks in the canyons in the desert and detecting. I am jealous. Its like your living the life I wanted here in Australia. Anyways love from Australia, stay safe and look forward to watching all of them. Wish I could join you someday. Best Regards
First off thank you for answering my question 👊🏻 congrats on the nugget and very large jackrabbit. Second yes bill is a nice guy one of the first gold prospecting channels I subbed to so THANK YOU for convincing him to start a channel a lot of us owe you for that. I met him and bought my gold monster 1000 from him and started a new hobby I really enjoy. His last video he was sporting your chugs army hat💪🏻💪🏻 I reckon you’ve inspired many channels over the years with your unique personality keep up the great work looking forward to many more years of your content. Safe travels beau see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻.
That entire dry lake bed full of irrigated farms is a mystery to me. Not sure how long they can suck on the aquafer before Kingman and Golden Valley run dry. The Chevron station is pretty entertaining too, although it was nice to have when the Gas and Grub in Meadview was down for a few months. You need to hook up with Jeff Williams up on the mesa. He and his group have pretty good luck pulling good size nuggets along the ridge. Good luck.
I would just love to have a metal detector, I don't think I'd ever be home. lol You have the greatest personality Chigg and people everywhere love you. Thanks for putting a lot of sunshine into our lives my friend.😉
Get out there and detect brother! I don't have much time to get out there and detect either but when I do it's a blast! You don't have to spend big bucks on a nice machine. I have the Minelab Vanquish 540 and I love it, or there's the Garrett ace 300 and 400 which are very affordable! Also a pinpointer is a must at just over $100
Those are almond trees. The water comes from wells drilled into the aquifer and is not connected to nor does it have anything to do with lake mead or the colarado river. Farther south toward kingman there are alfalfa and teff grass farms tapped into the same aquifer. There should be enough water to last through at least 3 or 4 almond tree lifcycles (75 years or more). Here in the basin and range topography the water is deeper in the basin and shallower toward the range tops where you will find springs.Ya kind of weird but that is the way it is. Considering California produces 80%+ of the worlds supply of almonds and they have no water I think the farmer made a smart well thought out decision in his choice of locations. I know this info because I live in the area. Good luck on the nuggets. I have been able to consistantly drywash over a gram a day in the gold basin.
They sunk several quarter million dollar wells but you're right, us local's aren't too happy about seeing the water table get sucked dry, and the dust storms they kick up come all the way into Meadview and make it dark as night outside.
Hi Earl, Tom from Clay NY. I usually say Syracuse but I figured I could narrow it down a little. Do much detecting around here? I've only been into it for a few years now.
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video with us Beau. Man, how I wish I were 30 - 40 years younger. I'd be out there doing the same thing. You're the man Chigg. I'm salavating for more adventure.
I should be out there where you are right now. I've been waiting over 2 months for the part for my transmission on my motor home. I'm still stuck in Michigan, but I wish I was out there. My last trip there I was camped just above the helicopter refueling station. Can't wait to get back out there.
Okay Chigg... Give us the story behind the nine of what I counted... helicopters, taking off from one pad, at one time... I'm guessing anywhere between 3 and $5 million worth of aircraft, in the middle of the desert... There is no way that it is a recreational helicopter tour company... having NINE helicopters... full of customers taking off at one time! Is it some mine company, that owns millions of acres, flying off to grid something out or what the heck is that all about?
They're tourist helicopters from Vegas coming back from the Grand Canyon. See them all the time flying in formation. Not sure why they land there, maybe to down some champagne??
It is actually over 20 million worth of aircraft. They are H130's made by Airbus and cost well over 2 million each. It is a Maverick Helicopter s based in Boulder, NV. Maverick Helicopters almost always fly together like that. I use to fly them in the canyon out off the south rim for Papillon. Now I fly EMS in the Astar also made by Airbus and is just like the H130 but a smaller cabin, and has a traditional tail rotor. With a med configuration it cost around 3.4 Million.
Geez, Chigg, I agree with you about the water hungry trees in the desert. That and the ridiculous helicopters seems a lot like what we used to call “conspicuous consumption.” Also, according to the PAESTA Podcast Series, almonds were about $2 a pound in 2010, but after years of drought they’re now $6/pound. More expensive than many meats.
I was stationed at Nellis in 81-82. We used to go cliff jumping into the lake. I don't think I'd do it now though!! I was shocked to see how low it is.

Im not sure if you do or not but if you put some heavy duty small magnets on your digging tool.... it will pick up any magnetic materials and make gold recovery a bit quicker and easier.
The more civilization expands into the desert the more millions of gallons of water are needed. Drought or no drought, you can't pull more than the flow without emptying the reservoir. My small town goes through 11 million gallons a day that is pulled from a local aquifer. Creeks I used to fish when I was young used to be anywhere from 3 to 6 feet deep but now are only 6" to 2 ft, This is in Louisiana where the groundwater and aquifers are constantly replenished.

What happens when you eventually drain the aquifer?
@@Ottedikkie The whole region will become uninhabitable.
@@tailgate_troubadour Exactly....
They take alot of water from the north state. And yes they dump it into the ocean 👎🏻
@@Ottedikkie The really sad part is these ag operations are mosty Arab and Chinese, taking advantage of lax regulation.

It is probably pistachios because Wonderful Co. likes to plant in the Desert and I really don't think they care if they use up all the water.
