No doubt, one of the grate report about Bangladesh's economy. We lost everything during 1971 but we learn from that how to struggle with poverty or anything or anyone to become successful. We can do everything to become successful in our life but at the same time we do not forget where we come from, what the struggle it was....that's the real power of our success.

Since the start of Bengals we've just worked .hard work is our main reason of success. Under British rule nothing changed. Except a lot of death and economy was decimated once the richest land in the subcontinent became complete "shithole" . Pakistani rule killed the crippled economy. And the war amputated the corpse . Yes I understand before 16th Century whole Europe was like that, but with new Technologies and the way its going, if Bangladesh puts effort for just 20 yrs, I mean one generation completely in Education and Technological advancements, it can achieve many things. Get out of buying Dollars, instead start making transactions in either in your own Currency or at least by the Products that you have.
But fore most important is to decrease the imports and focusing on the manufacturing industries like Automobiles, Weapons and other important things at the same time, keeping same focus on the Farming industry too.

@JimboParadox Religion is an essential part in our culture but it's true that blind faith is holding us back in many sectors. I think religion doesn't need to take a break instead our people should learn not to mix religion in their works. We can practice our faith but we should also put our full effort in works to reach maximum potential. It's just, we need to find a balance.

All these festivals are being celebrated in a grand scale in our country for many years. The way we celebrate them is different than other countries like India and Pakistan. So, It has become our unique culture. And as far history goes, the history of the human civilization is filled with war, destruction, chaos and blood. Not to be living in the past but some statistics here: Before the destruction that began with British arrival which include the famine during WWII induced by the evil Winston Churchill and the destruction later from the war of independence, Bengal had the exporting economy of textile and was also the rice basket of India.
I am beyond words to express my happiness to see in my life time, the progress and achievement made by my blood clan in Bangladesh - I am a Bengali descendant born and raised in Burma and now live in US.
With still much on the plate to deal with, such as curbing corruption and dealing with the idit government next door in Burma, I have no doubts that the inheritors of the great civilization of Bengal will succeed whatever they put their mind into.

Literacy is biggest factor in Bangladesh's developement. Infact their literacy rate is higher than India (Bangladesh 79%>Indian 72%).

Logic Killer the 18 year old war has nothing to do with Islamic sects. Former General and president Musharraf was forced to side with American President Bush to launch attacks on Afghanistan in the 2001 invasion, this lead to catastrophic tragedy for Pak losing close to 100,000 citizens from civilians, military, police, civil service personnel, politicians, various religious personalities students etc. Pak lost billions of it's own wealth as countless businesses and investment stopped operating in the country due to security. Pakistan suffered immensely from this war on terror in daily bomb/gun attacks while Bangladesh has remained relatively peaceful and hasn't had to deal with world powers attacking and destabilising BD unlike Pak.

Right now only small environmental changes are happening due to pressure from foreign buyers.
Millions of Bangladeshis are exploited in foreign countries. The living conditions are sometimes far worse than Bangladesh. It is a sad reality that everyone exploits the poor. Be it a domestic worker or a farm labourer. With rmg workers, their children's tends to be educated and have good work ethics.

Some are denying underlying truths and facts just because they're becoming increasingly aware of the issues curtailing this growing economy. No doubt that the problems are profound but this video is based on facts both on and off the ground. I agree, we could've done way better without the decades of systemic corruption and mismanagement.
You CANNOT deny that people's lives (in general) are getting better, including your own family's (i.e. your demands are bigger than your parents'). easy to lose sight of the bigger picture. Capitalism will always create inequalities, esp. with the kind of inherent and intricate (seemingly unsolvable) problems we have. My point: stop complaining and stop blind/ignorant adulations as well. Keep hustling! to each his/her own, for the most part.

Under the Mughals, Bengal Subah generated 50% of the empire's GDP and 12% of the world's GDP, globally dominant in industries such as textile manufacturing and shipbuilding, with the capital Dhaka having a population exceeding a million people.
