  • The Snark SN-4 is an all instruments tuner with a few other functions: metronome, tone generator, pitch calibration, and a transpose feature (for guitar players using a capo.)

Although a clip-on tuner would have been nice, I prefer this one because it uses (2) AAA batteries, which I usually have on hand.

You forgot one of the best parts about this tuner. It allows you to plug in an electric instrument. I've found this is one of the few inexpensive tuners that will readily pick up a low B string on a bass guitar, or even A if you're playing dropped tunings.

That is an excellent thing to mention! No electric instrument over here, so never thought about it. Thanks !

I just bought one. I prefer it to the clip on. Thanks for review.

the difference between this and the clip on is the speaker.. tone tuning.. and also the Metronome actually makes sound.. the clip on is visual only.

I came here to see how to turn it on and off. No such luck and mine is still on

G'day Dave, that little gray button below the display turns the device on and off. Well, if you have the tone or metronome feature going, then the gray button turns off whichever feature is active, and a second push of the gray button powers off the tuner. Let us know how that goes!

@@CJVeniot Thanks. It worked! But on mine I had to push it super hard to make it work, I thought the click meant it switched but now I've done it a few times just had to use a lot of pressure. Thanks!

@@blackbirdpie217 Good stuff! Mine is "clickless" (maybe I have a slightly older model, or production line or components are just a wee touch different between my tuner and yours. If you are handy to a music store, might be worth checking to see if other ones work the same or differently, just in case the one you have is slightly on the defective side? Cheers !
