As long as the kid can handle the rules and safety steps involved with airsoft, I see no reason they shouldn’t play! @@MtbAllen I have a few tips. Number one, don't go all out on buying gear. If you already have gear, you can just go to the field and play. So about the hurting part, here Yesterday I played airsoft at GE and this guy ran up and kept shooting me when he was like 2 feet away. Know I have a blood pocket like thing on my pinkie knuckle. But you don't have to worry some places have a certain amount of feet away. Now indoor or outdoor It depends on where its at. Do you have a certain place you want to go? Also do you live in GA? Maybe we could play if you wanted to.
I am ex British military. I see absolutely nothing but positives from PROFESSIONALLY playing airsoft. The ONE and only thing I would say is a MUST is good facial protective wear. The only real danger with Airsoft is the loss of sight and hearing but with the correct head gear that problem is eliminated. Your kid may get a scrape or at worse a broken bone. That will heal and they will go on to live a totally fine life.

Excellent video. As a dad who has just recently started taking his 12yr old to play at the local site, I agree with all your points. The one thing I'd add is, it's worth considering a bump-cap or helmet to protect your kiddo's head. Mine got shot up close, quite accidentally, in the back of the head by 450fps DMR and she was less than thrilled!
Nice Video! I am a teen who loves airsoft, I have played for a couple of years now and have had a lot of fun with it. I acquired most of my kit minus the replicas of course from army navy surplus stores, and generous Marine Corps DIs. I think kids should play airsoft. At the end of the day, the way I look at it, it’s just a game to enjoy, don’t take it too seriously, we’re not in a real fire fight, just have a good time.
I think kids should be able to but under 13 should have parental supervision and kids older than 13 should be monitored and should be held responsible for their actions
My local field has games for 15 and under on saturdays and 16 and above games on sundays. Both limited to .28 bbs at 1.2J of energy and semi auto. Another nice thing is that for the kids game, first timers have free entry and free gear rental.
Unfortunately I do not agree that kids should play airsoft under the age of at least 10. They are just a liability and quiet frankly, they mostly just get in the way and hide at spawn from fear of being shot. Of course there are a few outliers but they definitely shouldn't be on the field without parental accompaniment.
I went out to my local field recently (you actually showed their field rules on screen, D14 Airsoft), and there was a birthday party of about middle school age there, and they were having a blast! I always enjoy it when there’s kids playing on the field! The Airsoft community has always been super fun! I’m looking forward to my next time playing!
It depends. I am one of the leaders of an airsoft club for kids and I believe that’s the best option for them. They get introduced into the sport, learn how to manipulate their replica, tactics, how to behave etc. I see it as better option then just let them play alone on some field.

My daughter who's 10 plays with me and her 2 brothers and absolutely loves it. theres something to be said for hitting a smaller target. Perfect for grabbing the flag with some covering fire 😂
OK look I seen you made with paintball it hits 10 times harder. I would say that it’s about the same as your 400 FPS replica and what you’re using for bb weight. In the United States, all paintball guns have to be under 300 FPS so usually markers are sitting at like 270 to 295 for FPS airsoft gun range variety plus you got BB weight paintball guns only have 68 caliber and 50 caliber paintball. There’s a lot more aspects for it to hurt your barrel your HopUp and your BB weight and spring. I honestly will say that kids from 5 to 13 should have to wear a full face mask like a paintball mask at. I’ve seen too many times where kids are wearing uppers and lower face protection and it’s just not sitting correctly where it’s supposed to be and it’s gonna be possibly falling off because her heads are too small so if anybody has a kid in here that they want to get into airsoft my biggest recommendation is that wear a full faced paintball mask. It’s gonna suck but it provides a lot of better protection, especially for the young ones when they turn 1340 when they’re starting to grow I would say let them wear half face mask, eye protection.
Yes, they should be able to play* *If you train them well. Never be afraid to get hands on in training them on things such as disassembly, certain things can get lost in what should be a typical disassembly.
I dont have a problem with kids under 18 If they are mature enough and respect other its okay Although I remember a 12old kid in a match being a pain in the a*s crying etc etc I hate those....
I've legit played children definitely not more than 10 years old. As long as they keep their protection on, they're good to go. Although, it's a little scary to aim at a kid with an AEG making sure not to hit a vital spot.
I just started playing with my 13 year old. You need to make an informed parental decision. Fields here in Canada all make up their own age limits and even have different limits for playing with parents or solo.
Minimum age should be 12-13 and under 18s should have someone 18 over to supervise them signing the waiver etc. Also under18s are required to use full face protection. Those are the rules in the UK.
It's similar at the fields here in the States, at least from my experience. However, 10 year olds are allowed. The general additional rule is "Don't full auto the kids."
We got a couple of 5-6 year olds that play with us. Their dads are always with them and all of us are as careful as we can be t9 watch out for them. We also yell at them to keep their glasses on lol. They play just as good, if not better than some of the older people out there. We dont have an actual airsoft field where I am so we just meet at random locations out in the middle of nowhere. I highly think it depends on the parents. If they were to just drop them off, than no. But the few we do have, their dads are heavilu involved and current and ex military.
They are the future of the game. As long as they have the proper safety gear.....let them play. Safety first. And remember......it's a game and when it's all said and done, we are just big kids out there playing "army" or "war". don't take it too seriously. Game on !!!!
its a toy gun kids game and it has NOTHING to do with the military, if you think kids shouldnt run around with the same plastic bb blasters you yourself are using you should take a long look in a mirror and realise that there is nothing about your infantry cosplay hobby that gives you any authority or coolness over any kid that wants to join the bb war
It’s my 12th birthday today so yeah I’ve been playing for two years now. I think there should be maybe a minimum age of 10 but maybe if you are younger then if you can prove you are responsible enough you can play

In Portugal it is not allowed to rent or lend replicas - Replicas ... It is not the most correct term but anyway... they are called RAFPR - Reproduction of Firearms for Recreational Practices - . The player must be at least 16 years old with parental permission or over 18 years old. The FPS limits are 374 measured with BBs of 0.20g and cannot exceed 1.3 Joules, you must be registered with an airsoft association.
I was playing Airsoft before I even knew it was a sport lol. I remember just buying springer guns and playing in the backyard with the neighbors. Wasn’t till like a decade later that I found out people actually play with Airsoft guns for sport. I mostly just collect them now since there’s no fields near me and just shoot cans in the backyard with my nephews. Our backyard is covered with millions of used bbs even tho we use biodegradable they take a while to break down. Usually by the time they do we’ve already went through another jar of 20k bbs 🤣. Some day tho I’d like to travel to one of those big fields to play with my nephews and get the full Airsoft experience.
as a kid, Air Softer who has been in the game for years now I thank u so much for this video man but I do think there should be an age limit to go to fields I feel like sometimes I see 9-year-olds playing on the field and I personly think they're not going to have the best experience compared to the grown ppl bc well there little kids I feel it would push away the new generation of airsofters but that's just my thoughts
Actual things ive heard from real adults in airsoft: "Can someone tie my shoes idk how" "you cant tell me what to do, ur not my dad" i also saw someone squadwipe a whole trench, and then hit the default dance I think kids would fit right in, as long as they play saftely
I am fro.t he Netherlands. Airsoft here is 18+ and I am happy it remains 18+. However, if a mature 14 year old wants to join in, I am not gonna be a buzzkill. Its not about age, it is about being mature, social, aware of what you should and should not do. Some 16 year olds are more mature than some 25 year olds..... Believe me. If you have seen man-children compared to 15 year old boys who had to become the man of the house because of, for example, a disabled family member, you will know rhat at the end, its all about the person. Some humans need more time to grow up to start airsoft.
Yeah, it’s a fun game, and that’s all it is, a game. And has you somewhat active (depends on play style) letting a kid go alone I wouldn’t recommend, let them go with friends or hell you as the parent, you could have fun
Depends on maturity. With a balanced rule set and the maturity to abide by the ruleset preteens and up can play and have fun. Abiding by the ruleset is the thing though. There are some 12,22,32,42 year olds that should not be playing because they’re not there to play the game everyone else is playing.
I played the first time at 15, now 1 year later I spend 1300€. That money i earn in my holidays with works and only because i want too buy these gear. So i go out and do sport and have an motivation to go working in my holidays
My oldest son is interested in playing. He is only 8, so he won’t be able to participate at official fields for a while, but I did get him a MPX, and we have been drilling. Hopefully by the time he actually gets to play at a field he will be trained more than I am currently lol. I don’t mind tho, I don’t like shooting children, I wouldn’t want to make other grown ups shoot my kids… maybe if you can find a younger league with strict limits to power, that would be cool.
Stupitidy and bad attitude does not go away with age. As long any individual child or adult is just trying to have fun with everyone else(not being selfish), anyone can enjoy the hobby.
I literally waited for my son to turn 12 so that we could go together then Pandemic hit so I literally waited another 2 years before going myself and now we go together every month.
Kids should be playing, but not with adults, sites should run separate Under 18 days , Along with every adult operating or marshalling should be vetted, and given child protection training,
I feel like kids can play at fields any age in parties, while a hard 12+ rule on public games and 12 year olds need to be accompanied on the field by the parent. I have played to many games where 1 or 2 good people get stuck with kids who don't know how to work guns and their parents just have them on autopilot and don't care that their kids are messing up the game.
Adults, Parents, Mental Health Field; What is wrong with kids playing "Air Soft" AF ? When I was a kid we played with toy guns that actuall shot projectiles ; Snubnose 38s, Red River level action rifle, Defender Dan a tripod mounted belt feed machine gun...These all had plastic bullets which fitted into a plastic brass which had a spring inside ..... On the Snubnose you placed a circular cap the brass and when the hammer made contact it fired the little grey plastic bullet 30--50 feet... Red River had a white bullet and you load five rounds into the tube the same way one loads a real level action rifle(like in the silver screen Western movies) After each trigger activation a white bullet would be fired and it traveled out to 60 feet then one ejected brass by using the level as on a real level action rifle( By the way the toy gun had a device inside that made a sound like a real rifle every time trigger was activated..... Defender Dan was belt feed like a real tripod Military machine gun , the white bullets had to be incerted into the black plastic belt then operator open the load port for the belt laid it in closed the port cover pull back the charging handle and start firing in burst (which the operator controlled by activating the triger as the white bullet exit there was a red plastic tub on the muzzle which moved in and out simulating flames like a real machine gun. There were several others out on the market . Whats interesting kid's parents and grandparents all were actual Combat Vets of ; WW 1 , WW2, Korea, Viet Nam, and a few insurgent operations conducted by the U.S Military. The most Vital Important Lesson they taught and instilled in us kids was these were toys and at the Same Time taught us kids the Beauty and Important Value of Life ; Human and Animals. Nothing is wrong when those I mention at the begining apply what the true Teachings taught by those mentioned directly above this entry . Here is a question of Thought to ask upon one self ; What video games do you support kids playing ? Before responding do justice by Thinking and really be Honest with yourself !

as a kid, Air Softer who has been in the game for years now I thank u so much for this video man but I do think there should be an age limit to go to fields I feel like sometimes I see 9-year-olds playing on the field and I personly think they're not going to have the best experience compared to the grown ppl bc well there little kids I feel it would push away the new generation of airsofters but that's just my thoughts
Actual things ive heard from real adults in airsoft:
"Can someone tie my shoes idk how"
"you cant tell me what to do, ur not my dad"
i also saw someone squadwipe a whole trench, and then hit the default dance
I think kids would fit right in, as long as they play saftely
I am fro.t he Netherlands. Airsoft here is 18+ and I am happy it remains 18+.
However, if a mature 14 year old wants to join in, I am not gonna be a buzzkill.
Its not about age, it is about being mature, social, aware of what you should and should not do.
Some 16 year olds are more mature than some 25 year olds.....
Believe me. If you have seen man-children compared to 15 year old boys who had to become the man of the house because of, for example, a disabled family member, you will know rhat at the end, its all about the person.
Some humans need more time to grow up to start airsoft.
kids should 100% play
As someone who lives in India and loves Airsoft, I literally cry everytime I see a video of someone having airsoft because I can't have one
i dont have time to watch the video yet, but i will say, the military probably likes it. prepares them and gives them interest in the military
Kids should be playing, but not with adults, sites should run separate Under 18 days , Along with every adult operating or marshalling should be vetted, and given child protection training,
I feel like joining the airsoft community when I turn 16, so I dont have to buy new gear every time it gets small
I started airsoft when I was 14.
Of course they should! they'll need training for emergency situations in schools
iam a 12 year old and i love my sa h23, this is my favourite sport
as long as the adults are not gonna be aggressive it could work out
Depends on the contry
Adults, Parents, Mental Health Field; What is wrong with kids playing "Air Soft" AF ? When I was a kid we played with toy guns that actuall shot projectiles ;
Snubnose 38s, Red River level action rifle, Defender Dan a tripod mounted belt feed machine gun...These all had plastic bullets which fitted into a plastic brass which had a spring inside ..... On the Snubnose you placed a circular cap the brass and when the hammer made contact it fired the little grey plastic bullet 30--50 feet... Red River had a white bullet and you load five rounds into the tube the same way one loads a real level action rifle(like in the silver screen Western movies) After each trigger activation a white bullet would be fired and it traveled out to 60 feet then one ejected brass by using the level as on a real level action rifle( By the way the toy gun had a device inside that made a sound like a real rifle every time trigger was activated..... Defender Dan was belt feed like a real tripod Military machine gun , the white bullets had to be incerted into the black plastic belt then operator open the load port for the belt laid it in closed the port cover pull back the charging handle and start firing in burst (which the operator controlled by activating the triger as the white bullet exit there was a red plastic tub on the muzzle which moved in and out simulating flames like a real machine gun. There were several others out on the market . Whats interesting kid's parents and grandparents all were actual Combat Vets of ; WW 1 , WW2, Korea, Viet Nam, and a few insurgent operations conducted by the U.S Military. The most Vital Important Lesson they taught and instilled in us kids was these were toys and at the Same Time taught us kids the Beauty and Important Value of Life ; Human and Animals. Nothing is wrong when those I mention at the begining apply what the true Teachings taught by those mentioned directly above this entry . Here is a question of Thought to ask upon one self ;
What video games do you support kids playing ? Before responding do justice by Thinking and really be Honest with yourself !
I wish I had this video a year ago so could have started to play sooner
Most important factors are the child and the field
As annoying as some kids can be they are necessary for keeping the game alive in the future
do you have any recomandations for a camera that can be mounted on a helmet?
As a 14 year old I have been playing for a decent amount of time and I don’t think it comes down to your age but how you act
I started when I was 7 or 8 lol
I started with 13, 20 years ago. I can say it was a bit too early...
Bro, I started when I was 12
I started playing at my local field when I was 10 and it was fine. There were mostly adults and it was nighttime but I wasn’t hurt and no one was too rude.
@@cavennguyen I started at 8 lol
@@Off-roading1 lol
Age wouldn’t really be the reason for it to be too much early, I would on would say it’s just your maturity and how much you know about the game
As long as they are accompanied by an ad adult, I don’t see why not
"Should a child be allowed to play a sport with toy guns that trains hand-eye coordination, communication and movement?"
The only thing I slightly disagree with is that airsoft is cheap. It is cheap to start but if you really get into it then it becomes expensive quickly.
How old do you need to be to play in milsims?
Started at 9 playing for 5 ys now
played today and will play tommorow with my friend
I'm 13 year old now but I started 2 years ago😅 and I m usually better than the ex military guys because I have crazyer tactics what the enemy don think about me and my squad😂
Yeah ex military doesn’t work well with airsoft they are just too different for it to translate
As a kid that plays airsoft we are good cannon fodder 💀
I started playing paintball at 11, my son started airsoft at 14 it is much safer and he loves it he even cos plays an scp agent using same gear.
what if i want to train my aim? and can you make a starter kit for a 12 years old? i wanted to start airsoft and if i would like it i want to know what to buy somphing to 500 bucks
I'm 21 and started playing at 10 (I'm still kinds bad though lol)
I think they should be allowed but there should be games or fields that are 18+
