shame you didn't get to go in the tunnel with turbot. I went in there once, its so cool. Its a tunnel that winds through the cliff. Its been completely flooded and there is a raised walkway in the middle. The baby turbot are also cute.
Thank You. In my case, Jersey is definitely not somewhere I want to be taking a rather expensive Ferry ride to while I will be on holiday in Normandie soon. Your information is most welcome :)
How are you doing mister rich mrs Helen thank you for sharing your trips with us even virtually we are as foreigners subscribers as overseas students enjoy to explore places unknown to us to increase our cultural level improve our English language as well i gathered main information about place you visited briefly here it’s Jersey is British crown depency near coast of north west France it’s largest of Channel Islands anyone can travel to visit or work settle and immigrants permission Jersey is known for fascinating military history during napoleonic wars world war 11 and Jersey too was part of duchy and Normandy whose duckes became king of England from 1066 its remained loyal to English crown. According to the site cost of living in Jersey is higher than in USA and higher than uk. Jersey is warmest place British isles. Jersey milk is so special for great taste high vitamin contents . Bon voyage stay safe blessed have great time good luck to you your family friends
Weather in jersey in the winter is pretty bad, cold, 3, 6 degrees, rainy most of the time and windy, sometimes very windy. Only in the summer is nice and you can go out and enjoy the place. It's hotter than it is in The UK, unfortunately only for 2, 3 months, the rest is just bad.
I was in Jersey for only 3 months back in 2005. Working for a shop fitting company. Broke my wrists going to work flying down the hill from BNQ to bottom of the hill / roundabout.... Dirt old Black ice. Miss the Portuguese tarts jersey slappers 😆
My old Mum lives near Gorey and I get there every few months. My favourite walk : to Seymour Tower. Favourite building : Noirmont Observation tower. Favourite grub : the Hungry Man, Rozel. Favourite cafe : St Catherine's Breakwater following coast walk from Anne Port. (PS St Aubin is pronounced Oh-bin not Aw-bin)
We, a german couple, stay 1 week in Gorey in the Hotel Dolphin for holiday and leave tomorrow. It was a wonderful time to relax and a lot of interesting things to see.
Nice video. St Aubin is pronounced (St Obin ) Lived in Jersey 57yrs, my hubby was Jersey Born, he wanted to travel around the UK, so we did, lost him recently and may well go back to the Island at some point in the future?
I visited Jersey in a 'former' life over 30 years ago, loved it. More recently we have been with P&O to Guernsey, the WW2 tunnels there are even more creepy, very damp, hobnail boot prints in the concrete! Excellent work as always, thank you.
If you want to be in the centre of everything and have easy access to most places on the island then St Helier is great. If you want more of a beach vibe then St Brelade is beautiful and La Roque is also pretty. 👍
Great video Only one suggestion; It would be great if you can mention prices? ( Fish’n chips, wine tasting price, other meals? Hotel? etc ( you do mention bus price) It would be completed info 👍

Ah, a second question. I know you went on an organized tour, but it looks like there's ferry service from Poole to Jersey. That looks like it might be a more interesting way to get there. I may be a pilot, but I'm not a fan of airlines!!! David
Q1: I don't know. I assume from my limited knowledge Isle of Man is a 'different country' altogether, whereas The Channel Islands belong to the UK but have semi autonomous freedom to set their own laws, tax rates etc. Lucky them! :D
Q2: Sure you can get a ferry. We nearly took our car over but decided that it was cheaper and obviously quicker to fly. It was OK - EasyJet A320 - no hassle. Cosmos are offering free flights as we speak, but normally it's a case of get there how you prefer. :)
Jersey technically has the exact same status as IOM, as a "Crown Dependency". Any differences are really just cultural and historical due to the proximity of the Channel Islands to France and to each other. In reality there is no real geopolitical grouping of the "Channel Islands", Jersey and Guernsey are both distinct jurisdictions from one another, as with IOM. Although Jersey and Guernsey do tend to mimic each other in terms of governance hence why they may have similar political systems that differ from IOM, but they all make their own laws. Their Crown Dependency status in respect of their relationship to the UK is the same. As for the boat from Poole to Jersey, it isnt anything special or interesting, just a bog standard ferry. The ferry operator, Condor, aren't great. The crossing from Poole is typically around 5 hours (the "fast ferry") and you have the "slow ferry" from Portsmouth at around 10 hours. I personally prefer the Portsmouth ferry as it means not having to go to Poole. The slow ferry is also generally a nicer, smoother ferry (the ever-realiable, beloved Clipper) with better on board services, and often less crowded. There isn't much to see out the window on the ferry although sometimes you do get dolphins swimming alongside. Be warned, if you get seasick, the Channel has some pretty rough seas. The worst I've experienced resulted in even the Captain apparently becoming queasy and all the wine bottles in the bar smashing. If, like me, you aren't comfortable around sick people, you can pay an extra £120 on the slow ferry and get your own cabin. If you really want to experience Jersey's seas, there are various boat trips you can book from the island, some visit nearby reefs and mini islands, provide fishing trips or wildlife spotting (we have good sea life and very good bird life). There is also a ferry service operating between the Channel Islands themselves, great for a visit to Sark, Guernsey, Alderney or Herm. I'd recommend just flying to get from England to Jersey though, much much cheaper and quicker. I used to exclusively travel between here and England by ferry as I have a fear of flying, however the 35 min flight turned out to be pretty manageable, cruising at most for 15 mins before the descent.

historical note: The German's always claimed the Gestapo were never on Jersey. Technically corect. As the Island was a Festung, Fortress, it came under Military Control. The Gestapo were a civillian organasation. The Military version, so the ones on Jersey were the Gehime Feldpolize, the Secret Feild Police, the military version. Those who had dealings with them considered the diffrences to be minor. In the Undrground hospital, be aware , you are walking on bodies. There are many credible stories of the forced labourous, from Europe and Russian POW's being dumped into the concrete of fortifications. Also 9 ar eknow to be killed when the unfinished tunnel collapsed.
Jersey wasn't "the only piece of British land the Germans managed to capture." You forgot us in Guernsey. Jersey, Guernsey, Sark, Herm, Alderney, in fact the whole of the Channel Islands were occupied.
Sorry, but I couldn't stick with this video because of the continual advertising for Cosmos and the hotel. And then the TH-cam ads kick in. It would have been nice to have had a summary of upcoming topics, then a delve into them to give more reason to keep watching. The video quality itself though is excellent. Nice and stable and sharp. And the edits don't result in shots that linger too long.
Thank you for watching and commenting. We focussed on he hotel because that was where we were staying. We mentioned Cosmos a couple of times because that was the company we went with. Perfectly normal. 🙂
@@visitwithus Thanks for your reply. I came back and discovered that I'd watched up to just before the exploring really starts (about 7 mins in). This is much more like it! A package might not be everyone's cup of tea but you've shown the island well enough for anyone to get an idea of what to expect. Interesting contrasts: the underground hospital isn't for the faint-hearted, and is markedly different from, say, the vineyard visit. But that's the channel islands - refreshing coastal walks, German WWII fortifications appearing on them, then a well-appointed pub. Crammed. It's good you've made the video. Jersey hasn't appeared much or very well in TH-cam, hitherto. Many thanks!
@@j_a_lee Thank you for persevering with it. We always design our videos to try to be interesting until the very last second. Glad you found this one interesting (eventually) 😆🙂
you missed out on a few facts about things you filmed ... like Jersey had the first British postbox's before mainland Britain. Corbiere Lighthouse was the first concrete one built in the British Isles and the last siege of the English Civil War was at Elizabeth Castle.

I love Jersey. Just wish I could get hold of the local paper..the Jersey evening post. But don't know how too...any ideas?.
Thanks for watching 👍
Thank you for showing us around Jersey! It’s so stunning! Would love to visit!
Thanks for watching. It’s a lovely place to visit for sure. 🙂
Thanks for watching. It’s a lovely place to visit for sure. 🙂
Nice to see a tourists point of view. Hopefully didn't find it too expensive. Sadly we don't attract the younger crowd these days, the grockles all seem pretty old.
It’s a beautiful island ❤️
Thanks for watching 😊
I live in ireland from hong kong (many yrs ago, often wanna visit islands nearby, i ll start my journey in ireland 1st, then visit others incl Jersey n Guernsey , thx q
Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoy the islands 👍
Brilliant video, thank you
Thank you for watching Andrew. :)
shame you didn't get to go in the tunnel with turbot. I went in there once, its so cool. Its a tunnel that winds through the cliff. Its been completely flooded and there is a raised walkway in the middle. The baby turbot are also cute.
Oh, didn’t know about this 🤔
Thanks for watching 😊
Thank You. In my case, Jersey is definitely not somewhere I want to be taking a rather expensive Ferry ride to while I will be on holiday in Normandie soon. Your information is most welcome :)
Thanks for watching Julian and enjoy Normandie. 😀
Glad you enjoyed the rock I am proud to call my home
We loved it. Thanks for watching 👍
A gem! Would like to check it out.
Definitely worth a visit Billy. Thanks for watching. :)
cold, quiet and creepy

Bon voyage stay safe blessed have great time good luck to you your family friends
Thanks for watching Khatoon! :)
Thanks for watching 👍
I was in Jersey for only 3 months back in 2005. Working for a shop fitting company. Broke my wrists going to work flying down the hill from BNQ to bottom of the hill / roundabout.... Dirt old Black ice. Miss the Portuguese tarts jersey slappers 😆
😆😆😆
Thanks for watching 👍
Love Jersey. Going back for about our 7th visit in April. Great stuff! I have to say though, Jersey wine isn't great!
7th time? Totally understand that. Lovely little place. Black butter definitely preferable to the wine. 😆
I think you may have just cost me a few quid for a holiday to Jersey with this one!
It's worth every penny Warren! :D
I watching from Bangladesh ❤️
Thanks for watching 👍
Bizarrely , potatoes are legal tender in Jersey , this was decreed by the Duke of Normandy in 1511 and all vendors have to accept them !
Haha, that’s a trivia fact if ever there was one 😁👍
Thanks for watching 😊
Hi what is the music playing towards the end please?
I'm Christy tiron from srilanka my dreams is come to jersey one day I will come ❤
Thanks for watching 😊
Hope you get to go there one day 🤞
My old Mum lives near Gorey and I get there every few months. My favourite walk : to Seymour Tower. Favourite building : Noirmont Observation tower. Favourite grub : the Hungry Man, Rozel.
Favourite cafe : St Catherine's Breakwater following coast walk from Anne Port. (PS St Aubin is pronounced Oh-bin not Aw-bin)
Haha, thanks for the heads up re: Aubin - a few people have pointed that out 😁
Thanks for watching 👍
We, a german couple, stay 1 week in Gorey in the Hotel Dolphin for holiday and leave tomorrow.
It was a wonderful time to relax and a lot of interesting things to see.
Nice video. St Aubin is pronounced (St Obin ) Lived in Jersey 57yrs, my hubby was Jersey Born, he wanted to travel around the UK, so we did, lost him recently and may well go back to the Island at some point in the future?
Thank you so much for watching 😊
A few people have mentioned the St Aubin pronunciation 😂
Hope you get back to Jersey soon ❤️
Very good
Thanks for watching Mel. :)
best place on Earth
We can't argue with that! :D Thanks for watching! :D
Also most expensive… 😫
I visited Jersey in a 'former' life over 30 years ago, loved it. More recently we have been with P&O to Guernsey, the WW2 tunnels there are even more creepy, very damp, hobnail boot prints in the concrete! Excellent work as always, thank you.
Thanks Paul. You've made me want to visit Guernsey now and do the 'creepy tunnels' test. :)
@@visitwithus One of the hotel's makes lovely Gin!
Any advice of where to visit in Jersey on my trip in April this year? Thanks
If you want to be in the centre of everything and have easy access to most places on the island then St Helier is great. If you want more of a beach vibe then St Brelade is beautiful and La Roque is also pretty. 👍
Thank you, I’ll follow your advice when I get there♥️🙏🏻
Great video
Only one suggestion;
It would be great if you can mention prices? ( Fish’n chips, wine tasting price, other meals? Hotel? etc
( you do mention bus price)
It would be completed info 👍
Thanks for watching. We don't normally put prices in because they date very quickly and we don't want to give people incorrect advice or info. :)
@@visitwithus I understand but everybody can see how old is your video..
Usually other travel channels describe more into the details otherwise what’s the point of watching..
I like to see pricing info as any other info..
other thing can change as well not only prices..
anyway.. all the best..
But if you don’t listen your audience then your video’s are not for me
Cheers
@@importedvixen We ALWAYS listen to our audience and give us much info as we can without getting too bogged down so the pace of the video overall is not too slow. But thanks for watching anyway. We shall strive to include more prices. Maybe one day you’ll watch another and give us the benefit of the doubt that we do try our best? Have a lovely week. 🙂
What time of year did you go?
We were there in June 2021 and as you can see it was a little wet 🌧
Thanks for watching 👍
It was much more magical in the 1980's.
Everything was more magical in the 80’s. ☺️
Moving soon there
You lucky thing! 😍
Lovely as usual. I question. Is Jersey's status like that of the Isle of Man?

I wonder if rich is free to take the Chancellors job. If he can spin that as a good holiday. He can make the state of the pound sound Fine!
😂 I’m not THAT good! 😂
historical note: The German's always claimed the Gestapo were never on Jersey. There are many credible stories of the forced labourous, from Europe and Russian POW's being
dumped into the concrete of fortifications. Also 9 ar eknow to be killed when the unfinished tunnel collapsed.
How interesting, thank you.
Thanks for watching 👍
@@visitwithus My pleasure , enjoy the Little Rock . Especially the Black Butter.
Jersey wasn't "the only piece of British land the Germans managed to capture."
You forgot us in Guernsey. Jersey, Guernsey, Sark, Herm, Alderney, in fact the whole of the Channel Islands were occupied.
Thank for watching and your comment Martin 😊
jersey is famous for cows potatoes flowers and Bergerac
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
I didn't know that New Jersey had beautiful beaches? 😳
This is Jersey, not New Jersey (don’t now if that makes a difference or not 🤷♂️ 😃)
Thanks for watching 👍
Jersey does not have a special status within the UK - as you say. Jersey is simply not UK. Same as Guernsey.
Thanks for watching and for your comment 👍
you missed out on a few facts about things you filmed ... like Jersey had the first British postbox's before mainland Britain. Corbiere Lighthouse was the first concrete one built in the British Isles and the last siege of the English Civil War was at Elizabeth Castle.
Hi Jean. Thanks for watching and giving us some more interesting facts. I'm sorry we couldn't fit everything into the video as Jersey continues to fascinate us! :D
St 'O bins'. = Auburn
Thank you 😊
@@visitwithus You are more than welcome...
Lovely island and what a lovely tour! But I wasn’t Guernsey also occupied by the Nazi’s? Jersey wasn’t the only British land occupied?
Thank you for watching Sonja. Yes, you're right, the whole of the Channel Islands were occupied. Sorry I didn't make that clear. :)
I believe it's pronounced "Joisey".
😂😂😂
Thanks for watching 😊
No VAT free, it’s 5 %. No VAT only on Guernsey.
Thanks for watching
Not be rude but as a local St.Oburn is not pronounced as orben but oben
Aubin sorry
We travel to so many places, it's inevitable we get some of the pronunciations wrong. It's an occupational hazard. :)
Apology accepted. ;)
It’s LaMare not lemere.
@@Geo796H Noted. 🙂
Why nightmares?
Nazi occupation not nightmarish enough?
@@visitwithus for sure, but thank God that belongs to the far past. We live in the present and dream in the future. So, nowadays Jersey is the island of dreams (only)
It looks like a boring place. I prefer Cyprus.
Well, except for the fact they are both islands, they have absolutely nothing in common so… Actually, we’ve been to Cyprus several times and we can confirm that it is just as boring. Hotter, but boring. 😂
It is very safe so in that sense it is a bit boring, like Malta. But it is full of historic and geographic detail.
