I like how hype this version is. I do feel however that it focused a bit over much on the melody and lost out on the slapping bass riff of the original. That being said it still make me want to fight the hordes of Tanzra again.
I always thought the slappy bass part honestly brought the original down. The track starts so epic and then instantly drops to this weird casual saunter because of the bass, it's just so tonally inconsistent with the rest of the track. So I personally thought this was the perfect version of a kickass track! :D
I totally agree with you. The main problem with all remixes/arrangements/metal/orchestral versions of this theme, even the newest renaissance ver. is that they don't S L A P P enough, and the original slapped like a truck.
100%, I noticed a ton of covers of the song just ignore the slap and pop sound of the bass and just go for a straight walked line and it ALWAYS feels like it's missing something because of it
While I don't know which I prefer, I definitely see the value in preserving the popping percussive bass from the original. Are there any remixes on TH-cam that keeps it?
That would be awesome. But I fear it won't ever happen, due to religious undertones. I'm not going to go into it... but I think one way or the other, you get the idea. Despite that, it's a stupid decision for Nintendo not to, it would be incredibly badass. And can you imagine the levels? Fillmore, Marahna, Kasandora, Northwall would be interesting... I digress. Plus, how cool would it be to play a character with the name, "The Master"? lol
