I served in the Navy from 1999-2007--left as an SK2(SW). I initially joined the Navy for the Naval Nuclear Power Program and started out day 1 as an E-3. Upon completion of A school, we were promoted to E-4.
I am shipping out for the Naval Nuclear Power Program in two months. Do you have any tips or words of wisdom for this future sailor? Please and thank you in advance 🙏🏼
I started bootcamp as e1. I was the RPOC when 2 of my RDCs had to take leave. I worked with my only RDC (e5) as a substitue div. commander where I ordered the e5 to chow hall duties. I graduated as rear admiral.
@@Provision600 I'm interested as well. I went through boot camp at Great Lakes in 1958. There were only Seamen Recruits. I don't recall any type of rewards we earned which is why I was interested in the change. The four years I spent in the Navy were some of the best in my life. Will never forget them. It's an experience of hard work, discipline and education you will never regret. Go for it!
Wow! Super easy these days. 50 years ago meeting the physical goals (running, push-ups, etc.) was something 99% of recruits could do before joining. Youngsters these days must be a bunch of overweight gaming potatoes.
Started boot camp as an e1, graduated as a e3 by getting the honor recruit award
What is the honor recruit award and how do you get that
@@splinky-channel6097 I made a video about it

Very useful channel! Awesome videos.
Glad you think so!
Can you do a video of how to get promoted after A school? Or the best way to get promoted after A School
Can you go over all the awards you can possibly get at navy bootcamp?
The highest you could get in bootcamp is E3.
@@Provision600 Not what he asked
@@lookeywho1287 My bad. Im new to this too

@@lookeywho1287 Why not do more years if you enjoyed. Im afraid when i join i might enjoy so much that I'll do the whole 20 🤣
I went in as an E-3, did 4 years of JROTC. E-4 is automatic now.
Love your vids🤙🏽🤙🏽
I passed both test n still wasn't advanced. And was a section leader n still nope no advancement. Its cool tho I'm working towards getting mapped.
How can you find the resources to know where you can advance such as hours and jrotc?
Can u rank up as the athletic PO
I did 2 years of JROTC in high school and got 1,080 hours of technical credit as in plumbing, would I be a E2 or an E3
That would be a question to ask your recruiter. I do not have knowledge on those numbers
