I'm trying to figure out where Britta Phillips is in this track? Is it the second voice we hear singing along with Anika Moa? I only learned about the connection to Jem and Holograms while I was listening to Click-Clash and wondered whether the Jem vocalist had done other work.
Such a catchy hook, even today, you can sing it over and over! I remember when this came out, it was a huge hit and great to be from a young Kiwi! I remember the initial time she was being interviewed and introduced to the world, though she had minor quirks, like a bit shy, she was mostly normal. The video didn't really go with the song lyrics as I did expect some girl in a peep show to be seen writing this, looking sad, sitting on a stool. Probably too controversial to show that narrative back then. It makes me sad the to imagine a story behind it. (A girl seen as a thing, a bit of property, that your outward value is only for sex. Too common a story.) She has done a lot of different things lately and seems to try hard to be outrageous. It's like she's bouncing around all over the place, searching, grasping for something, but with such messed up energy. What happened to this lovely young lady?
