It's possible because of the huge added load, which cause the voltage to Dip and in turn causing the Genset to register a lower frequency check and re-adjust your transient delay.
Or it might be your governor which can't keep up with the load demand

If t's a large load motor, use a VFD on the motor so initial load is much lower
