Gearbox jobs are also easy money. Better 2000-6000 profit and very quick job especially on rear wheel drive cars. Can get the job done in about a minute plus you get about 120 xp from the job so you're also leveling slowly too. So to get up to 19 I'd say it's your best bet for having the money required to do this strat right away at 19 instead of having to flip a few barn finds first to get the 60000-90000 you want before going to the auction house.
Something I discovered by an accidental press of a button was that if you use up your points to expand your work shop then press reset your points you get the points back and keep the bigger workshop.

That's actually the way car auctions are (Or at least were.) in real life. In the 1960s, 1970s & 1980s, my dad flipped cars for a living. The ones that were under 10 years old usually sold for twice the price as is. Whereas cars over 20 years old usually sold at about what they were worth, or for more than what they were worth.
Personally i would be rebuilding cars from spare parts, but doing this could be a good way to make a little money when needed. Thanks for the tip Moose :)
Hate to say it but they've nerfed auctions. They now have the car value up top and if you don't bid cars will go for up to 25% less than the value. I haven't been able to get better than $3k difference on cars valued over $100k and have had RNG push me over by several $k and even then I've dropped out of the auction. No good deals to be had by the looks of it and it's now a total waste of time. Better off building up cars rather than enjoying another aspect of the game.

Here’s a cheat cms2018promo put it in a new profile. Then click start new game and pick the one without the tutorial and you will see a big amount of money.
the McLaren f1 and McLaren f1 gt are the best for money return.. the buggotti chiron is 2nd best, I would buy the bogotti then clean it and fix frame, then use some parts I got cheap or I repaired them.. then sold them... I now have 95 mil, and almost enough for another 100 mil is cars and dragsters nova... the dragster nova will cost more to buy, but when its done all the way, it will be worth almost 20 mil, at least 17 mil... the dragster nova is hard to find ..
I think they patched it now as the bidding AI gets closer to the actual value of the car now or maybe it's because I have the thing at the top of my screen that says the value of the car (which I personally have now idea why they give you the actual value of the car it kind of ruins the auctions if the auctions weren't meh enough)

I saw this video today and thought I would give it a try. I'm level 22 and had 160k. I went into an auction and bought an Earthquake for 130k. Went back to the garage and there was no Earthquake and I was down $130k. I had both of my car bays empty. So sad right now.
Follow up: Turns out that even though I had both of my two spots open in the garage, the purchase I made from the auction house was sent to the Parking Garage area. I am currently restoring the Earthquake and will make a nice profit from it. Everything in this video was spot on. Great advice! I did not expect the car to be sent to the Parking Garage.
